The battle for the UK seems to have come to and end. I've stopped 'the battle for the UK' series and now begins 'the UK update'. This article is aimed at explaining the current events in terms that the newest player can understand, yet has all the details an experienced player looks for.
Population
The UK has 5,962 citizens, that is 2.45% of the global erepublik population, and a further 74 people have started today.
How to increase population numbers
The UK can improve these by looking after its current popualtion and making sure new people are engaged with and stay playing the game. The UK Ministry of Home Affairs newspaper (here) and the UK Ministry of Defence newspaper (here), are two things that should be checked in on regularly and should be recommend to others as much as possible.
Economy
The productivity of the UK population when working is determined by how many different resources the UK has connected to the capital. The UK currently has 2 food bonuses and 3 weapon bonuses. This means every time someone works, an extra 40 food or 6 weapons are produced, per worker, per day.
How to improve the economy
Agreeing deals with other nations to borrow regions from them, or launching military action are two ways to gain higher productivity bonuses. These are difficult though and it will require alot of diplomacy and cost, or huge costs and co-ordinated attacks with UK allies to take more regions.
One of the more effective ways to maintain productivity for yourself is to wake up and work in erepublik every day. There is an erepublik app for your phone and the time it takes to do the basics in erepublik is helpful in making it easy to play daily.
Military
The UK currently has 26 MPP's and other allies too. The UK has just pushed France, Canada and the USA off UK soil. Ireland currently holds Scotland and Northern Ireland. This is because the UK and Ireland have a peace agreement that gives these regions to Ireland, and it also gives the UK Dublin and Louth. This deal will provide the UK with a productivity bonus and also one for Ireland. The UK will attack Ireland soon to gain Dublin and Louth - the UK doesn't want people to start resistance wars in the Irish.
How to improve the military
It is important to join a military unit as this will provide you with a bazooka and energy bar everytime you complete the daily orders. Use the MU space (accessed vie the 'homepage') to communicate with others an suggest ideas to improve your unit.
Society
The UK uses a couple of tools outside of the main erepublik game to host features that can enrich your erepublik experiance. These are the UK external forum and the erepublik IRC channels (internet relay chat). The forum is used for hosting group spaces (such as party/military unit private areas), debating areas and more relaxed communication than in game. However beware sometimes the chatter here is/can become daft.
The IRC is used for instant chat, and it opperates like a free text message system where everyone in the 'room' can see and communicate with group. Check out the links to the forum and the IRC at the bottom of this article; after of course voting for this article at the top of the page.
How to improve the UK society/get involved
Every political party and military unit has a space just for memebers. Once you have joined a party/miliitary unit you can join the area by finding the 'feed' link on the homepage and clicking on the group tab you wish to join. Comment ideas/thoughts and questions into this group area and get involved.
Create a newspaper and write what you are interested in and use the general 'feeds' on the 'homepage' to communicate. Also drop into the forum and IRC at sometime to see what they are all about.

The UK Ministry of Defence puts out articles every few days. These inform players where to their fights are most needed and there is the possibility for any UK player to get free weapons. To get 4 Q6 weapons for free, comment at the bottom of the MoD articles with this: Call to Arms o7 The blue writing here is a link to the Ministry of Defence newspaper.
The NHS
The NHS offers players under 30 days old, 400 health a day (40 Q5 food), until they reach 1 month old. This means you can save up money for companies and weapons instead. The blue writing here contains a link to the NHS application form. Alternatively contact Big Ant via clicking the blue writing here and writing him a message.
Establishment grants
If you’re under 3 months old, you can claim a £3000 free establishment grant. You can use this to buy weapons, or companies to help increase production and your town hall. Apply by talking to Master Hofkens, who is the deputy Minister of Finance, and responcible for grants, by clicking the blue writing here and sending him a message on the subject.

"The UK will attack Ireland soon to gain Dublin and Louth..."
The Treaty that give away Dublin, our capital, and Louth was made during the last presidency. It should be scrapped and Ireland should just rescind possession of Scotland.
If - and its a big "if" - the UK are able to take Dublin and Louth, you're going to have to suppress RWs EVERYDAY. Trust me. So what is the point? Its just gonna be a huge drain on both nations.

'I have spoken to a few people in the Irish government as they've been a bit quiet lately in terms of our agreed region swap. I'm happy to say that I've concluded talks with them today and will be proposing our NE in an hour. This will bring our productivity up to 60/60 due to our gained fruit in Louth!'

Besides, it will not be a huge drain on us, because you have >800 people, compared to >6000.
@Max: Yeah, I know the Irish gov are behind the whole thing, but that ultimately means very little. The president who signed it isn't even an Irish national anymore.
@GameChanger: you need to get clued up on how this game works. Ireland are TEDEN. We have thousands of fighters. (National borders mean little to nothing in this game.) UK are surrounded by TERRA armies. And many of the UK's mooted 6000 are n00bs like yourself Changer, with less than 500 Strength, i.e. useless in the fight.
New Faustian Man: The quote I provided above was taken from an article in the UK PM's newspaper published 21 hours ago. I believe the UK PM has been speaking with the Irish President (Padraig) and others currently in the Irish government.
New Faustian Man is bang on the money. I would go as far to say e have less then a thousand active players within eUK, we area piss weak nation and RW from the Irish regions WILL be a damage drain for us

Yes, you have "thousands" of fighters, but so do we, if you count in the MPP damage from ONE.
I agree, I, by myself, mean nothing in a fight. Howeve, the U.K. has had succes in coordinating strikes that include many, many noobs at once.
I am not trying to pick a fight, just saying that the MPP damage goes both ways

We do not have loads of active people, but even if we were just one thousand "actives" Ireland has even less "actives", having less than 1,000 people
I do have a legit question for any Irish though.
Do the RW's in Scotland and N. Ireland put a large drain on you?
If they do, then we might also have issues, depends
If you do not have issues holding down the fort, then we obviously will have even less issues putting down your RW's
WayneKerr: There are so many things I disagree with in your post. The UK has more than a 1000 active players, but even IF that is so, other countries have similar issues to us in the UK. There is a lot of work for the UK to do, but we are not a 'piss weak nation', and people trying to RW Scotland or N.I. will be a drain, but not a massive one. Those battes are largely contested by BH hunters, RH hunters and a handful of people who are unaware of current events.
Yes, the RWs are a drain, pulling in fighters who'd be better served fighting for an ally in a significant campaign. But that's half the story. RWs will be 80% contested by BH hunters, cue BH medal races on the Irish side etc. which the UK will have to match and better etc.
It doesn't matter the relative strength of the UK over Ireland in terms of population, what will happen is Irish citizens starting RWs in Dublin and Louth, that'll be mostly contested by Romanian, Canadian, Argentinian, Brazilian, US, Irish etc etc BH hunters and tanks etc.
i.e. two big headaches for the UK
But then the UK will retake Northern Ireland and Scotland. Having these regions gives Ireland fish and a platform and supply route for Danish Aluminium. The UK would get Dublin which is the supply route to Louth which is a fruit resource. Ireland benefits in this deal as well as the UK.
Well, we will have to see what the effect is when the deal is done.
The deal has been done for a month don't forget. Worth noting that the next Irish CP may not wish to continue with it. We'll have to wait and see.
I'd like to point out that from when this article was written earlier today we are up from 74 new players to 211 with a global increase of 5284 new players today, this means that 4% (Or 3.99318...😵 of new players came to us. Our population share is growing and I hope we can retain as many of them as possible.

I, like everyone else on the thread, am simply stating my opinion on a treaty that is now quite dated in terms of Erep. I'm not trying to denigrate the UK, I'm simply stating that I think this "treaty" is the wrong way of going about cementing the peace between the UK and Ireland. That is all. How you miss that Beta, beats me.
