Some things have come to light with the most recent Congressional Elections. Others have not. I want to open your eyes if you have not seen yet...
(This is not a “butthurt” article - although I am sure that the comments below will say otherwise. I don’t care if I am in congress. The only reason was to help steer the country.)
The Top 4 Parties don’t care about you if you are not one of them. Wait....they do. If it is an ATO, PTO, or if they want you to chant something.
Now, to be fair, they have offered “opportunities” to “select individuals” that have decided not to conform (by not being in a top 4 party), but want to help the country. THEY will be the judge of your worth though, not you (I would make sure to bring your calculator to show them vote numbers so that it is CLEAR what you are capable of doing or they will use the PP election numbers on you). That is of course, if they keep their word, actually listened to you, or have not “change their mind.”
Also, THEY will decide what is “right” and “wrong” with HOW you are organizing your (or your party’s) approach to getting people in congress. Or even your attempt to get people active in your party by getting them to help as place holders (with no realistic shot of getting into congress already understood).
Keep in mind, they will be doing all this to make sure you know that they are the “voice of the sixth parties,” and “they came from the same place” you are now. They remember how it is to be in your place or they are “For” you, or “By” you.
Now, they will do all this, and then remind you of it later, when they need help to keep you in line when it comes to Country President nominations. And if you don’t, you damn well know that you will probably be labeled a PTO (and will be subtly threatened and spammed). Also, they do this to make sure you help when the PP elections come around and don’t forget that time BEFORE the next congress that we HAVE to keep “this” party from reaching the top 5. You are a patriotic citizen...right?
Oh, yeah....and make sure you have your vote ready for Speaker for “their” guy.
AND NOW, THEY HAVE FORGOTTEN ALL THESE THINGS......
You need to ask yourself:
Do I really like be led around by my nose?
Being told who to vote for, when to move, and what to do when?
Why do I complain about the “elitists” and the “same people” in charge, but consistently do NOTHING about it?
It’s time to stand up for YOU. If you are in a sixth party, you know what I mean. If you are in a Top 5 party, but came from a sixth party, you might remember.
WHY are you in a sixth party (or were)?
Is it....
You are different and don’t care about conforming. You stand up for what you believe, and don’t falter or change. You don’t sell your fellow US Citizens out for power or your soul to get nominations.
You need to “Unite” (funny when that word is actually used for the RIGHT reason) your voice and show them....
WE are citizens too. YOU need us AND need us to CARE.
And anyone in the Top parties feeling this is bogus or can be dismissed....
What will happen when the sixth parties (and people not in parties for the same reason) DON’T do what you want? ABSTAIN from voting at all?
(Go ahead and do the math, but don’t forget to count all the people who are NOT in parties due to the same reasons as others are in sixth parties.)
We don’t NEED to jump through your hoops....because we can just watch it BURN....

He knows exactly what he is talking about, but he's proven in the past (and here again) that what he doesn't know is game mechanics. The only power 6th party leaders have (and that's what this is really about), is the ability to call on their people to either not vote, or to vote for the PTO. That's it.
6th Parties aren't guaranteed ballot slots during Presidential elections.
6th Parties don't ever get on the ballot during Congressional elections.
That's mechanics, and it has nothing to do with me or my opinion, it's the game we're given. If a Top 5 party is willing to run a 6th party member ANYWHERE, they're doing them a favor. Now that regions don't come into play, making them earn it by putting them at the end of the party 'safe' seats is the only option that makes sense...otherwise you're disenfranchising your membership on behalf of another party. Which is simply ludicrous.

So basically your problem is with the Admin for the way they designed the politics module right? After all it's the Admin who have decided that only the top 5 parties can run candidates. You can't blame a top party for putting it's own members before 6th party members who are running under their banner. Top parties have a responsibility to get their members elected first then if there are spots left they can go to 6th party members. To be a member of a 6th party means you have no way of getting elected other than to depend on the generosity of a top party to share it's leftover spots with you. To "expect" a spot is pretty shallow and selfish. Top parties are answerable to their members first and foremost, not 6th party players who want to run under them. If someone wants to be in congress then join a top party. The Admin have seen to it that the only way to be elected is through a top party, so we have to accept that. No one in a 6th party has any right to expect to get into congress as the game mechanics just don't allow it. I have been a 6th party member pretty much my whole time in the game. 6th parties have been my choice and I accept the consequences of that choice, meaning I just don't get to run for election. If you have a problem with not getting to be elected then join a top party where you have a chance to be elected. Until the Admin change it, 6th party members just have to accept that we can not be elected and we are not owed any spots by top parties. That is the price paid to be a 6th party member, accept it.

What I actually said was "deals were made, promises weren't kept....and the change that is needed is closer than you think."
Promises made by previous administrations of the parties. Things change, deals are forgotten or get dropped because someone new, who had no part in the deals made, becomes party president. You can't expect them to keep someone else's promises.

No, I'm not saying whether you are "butthurt" or not. The condition of your butt is your business not mine. The point I am making is that when we choose to join a 6th party we also choose to accept all that goes with that decision. It is in no way reasonable to expect a top party to place 6th party players above their own candidates for congress spots. Top party presidents have a responsibility to their members to elect their people not us. If those of us in 6th parties want the same rights in regard to congress spots as people in top parties then we either have to join a top party so that those top party presidents will have an obligation to us as well or try and convince admin to change elections. What we don't have as 6th party players is the right to expect top parties to give us slots over their own people, it's just not reasonable. I believe you just as I prefer smaller 6th parties over the top parties. You just have to accept the bad with the good of 6th parties. No one outside of a top party has any right to complain about not being able to get into congress. We all know how the elections work and we choose to be in parties that we just can't get elected from.
Morningblur is spot on here, are the game mechs for who runs for congress ideal? I don't know, do you have knowledge of deals unfairly changed I'm unaware of? Sure, but, the top 5 parties have a responsibility to put their members first, I know the Feds have often tried to get 6th parties in, and they will continue to to an extent, but 6th parties aren't entitled to being on top 5 ballots, if you prefer being in a 6th party, your choice, good on you, I'm not saying "Join a top 5 or shut up", I'm just saying top 5's have members too, and a responsibility and interest to elect them, kind of how it works with the game

That's just it, the game has not changed. The top parties still select who gets to run. We in 6th parties still have no right to any of their slots. So until the admin change that aspect of the game nothing has changed with regards to 6th parties and elections.
We want more transparency. I think they should pay for all of their meta-game sins. Butt-hurt, is the leading cause of death.
If you van't be damned to partake in the meta-game, which is the meat of this game, then why should your opinion even matter?

It will be found when any group of people convinces enough other people of an ideal to become the majority and win the seat. It's basic democracy. People feel repressed because they're always in the minority. Change that and everything else changes.
What's funny is that the only way for the 6th parties to effectively challenge the current cadre of politicians is to move to the same party and in doing so, become a top 5 party. Therefore defeating their own purpose.
I honestly hope you guys unite and do something, it will be a refreshing change.

Well I would hope that whatever "plan" you have in place doesn't involve making some kind of deal with the AFA to screw up unity elections that keep us from being pto'ed. If that is the "plan" then it would come off as pretty childish to try and screw over the country over not getting into congress. But like I say I hope that's not the plan.

If it was power I was after, I would have joined a Top 5 party a LONG time ago.
However, this does NOT mean that the "unity" process is the best thing to do moving forward.
