Time for another round of media awards, sponsored by none other than The Shameless Plug. It was a tough week of judging, trying to decide who to put on and leave off. While I would not say there were many great masterpieces stood out as the MUST BE winner, there were quite a number of equally matched choices.
Gold Plug
“Scorp Reveals Shocking Info, Other PP Election Stuff!” by Scorpius of Scorp’s Election Analysis.
The Plug: CitizenB gave Scorp’s election overview 4 out of 6. The final results were indeed 4 out of 6 (give that man a cigar). The 66.6% score may not seem like Gold Plug material, yet you’d only be looking at the names Scorpius proposed and not his in depth commentary on PP candidate qualifications. This article marks the third great instalment in the Scorp’s Election Analysis series, which no doubt helped lead to Scorp’s promotion to EDEN’s public relations officer. As EDEN’s media spokesman, we can expect to see Scorpius be working on such things as the Allied Media Mogul Project and releasing updates on EDEN developments. Congrats on both your wins, Scorpius.
Best Lines: “The election for Party Presidents, perhaps the most influential election in Canada because of the decision making power Party Presidents (PPs) wield. For anyone who doesn't know, a PP can choose congressional candidates and presidential candidates, impacting many aspects of eCanadian politics. PP Elections always are the most interesting for me, and this one is no exception. EVERY party's leadership is contested to an extent, and there is the potential for a lot of change this coming month. I cant really predict who will win these elections, but i will do my best to inform you all about the candidates, and give you the straight talk about the pros and cons of each one.”

“Party President Election Law” by Tyler F. Durden of Soap Box
The Plug: Tyler F. Durden has certainly been leaving his mark on eCanadian politics in the last two months, a big rise from the ashes his prior e-incarnation. What piqued my interest in this article was Tyler’s pointed commentary on the fact that not all laws are visible to eCanadians citizens in the eRepublik medium. Granted, IRC and the eCan forum are great tools, they are not the official format of eRep gameplay. From Tyler’s observation came the posting of a series of articles to publish the laws of our nation, collected in the eCanadian Law section of his “eCanadian Hotsheet™” masterpiece. Now our allies, our citizens, and our foes can recognize eCanada as a transparent nation with a developed social code.
Best Lines: “ Some have been quite virulent and unneccessarily aggressive on the eCanada Forums (Board index » CANADIAN FORUMS » Government Discussion - Party President Elections Law ) regarding this issue [of mandatory PP candidates for every party], yet they themselves cannot produce this law for viewing.
It seems to me that eCanadians have little access to the laws which govern them.
As of this moment, I DEMAND that ALL laws be made easily accessible for viewing. That is the job of the Government - to instruct the people as to legal, and illegal conduct, so that the citizenry can be law abiding citizens.”
Bronze Plug
“CLM Volume 10: Freedom for Manitoba”
The Plug: There were a number of contenders for the Bronze Plug this past week. What caught my attention in this article was the unadulterated fighting spirit and sense of national pride. Normally, there’s a flood of patriotism and PEACE trash talk with every battle, yet this article stood above the typical “rah rah Canadah” flag waving. It had a certain quality that made it an inspiring piece of pep talk to motivate and instruct our newer citizens. TemujinBC has been very vocal in the media recently, so it feels good to recognize his efforts to bring high spirits and a helping hand.
Best Lines: “ The battle is far from over, and we ought not to count our chickens before they hatch. But truly this is a banner day for liberty in Canada. In order to bring freedom to the whole land, it must begin with the individual. And what I have seen, gives me great hope that freedom and individual liberty will one day abound in Canada.”
Notable Plugs
Several articles were a hair’s breadth from taking the Bronze Plug. I can’t say which is the best runner-up so I’ll let my discerning readership decide:

Mini-Plug: Addy continues to churn out reams of financial analysis that rival that of an RL RRSP analyst. This article is an extra treat because Addy lets his hair down to vent some frustrations. Unrest may be bubbling but let’s save that 17.5K for the wall!
“An Autumn of Russian Discontent”
Mini-plug: A well considered piece of editorializing. Nothing flashy but the points are relevant, offering the read a satisfying look into the woes of Mother Russia.

LToA: The Third Salute - Update
This week’s SPABAs are delayed, as you may have notice. This is because something very strange happened. Dare I even call it something akin to a miracle.
While reviewing my notes from last week’s presentation, the sky opened up and figure framed in glorious light descended the pearly steps before me. I could not see the face through the blinding glare, yet I could distinguish a Fedora silhouette emblazoned by EDEN's fire-licked halo.
It spake unto me: “Why hast thou forsaken my word? Why wouldst thou lay gifts at the feet of false idols when my three-thousand six-hundred would sate your hunger for Truth?”
Prostrating myself, I pleaded that my awards were but for the indie writers, not the grand masterpieces put forth by Ministries, Party Leaders, and Congress Candidates. There came no reply to my lamentations, for the glorious manifestation had left as mysteriously as it had appeared.
I returned to read the words of our Prime Minister's Farewell to repent for my slovenly ways, when I did discover an amazing revelation hidden deep in the departing words of Jacobi. Using the mysterious ways of gematria, slowly over the last 5 days I have uncovered the coded message within. It would appear to be a mirror image (or inversion) of the original Third Salute quatrains. Much is left to be deciphered, as large parts are encrypted with timecodes, releasing knowledge only at specified intervals. The first being Day 700.
So much as I can tell the The Book of Jacobi states:
You have seen a ladder with five steps, each step having two human faces which kept changing their appearance. The ladder is this age, and the five steps are the periods of this age. But the ten faces are the kings of the ungodly nations of this age.
Under these kings the children of you children and the generations of your sons will be tried. These will rise up against the iniquity of your grandsons. And this place will be made desolate by the four ascents...through the sins of your grandsons. Know, Jacobi that your descendants shall be exiles in a strange land, and they will afflict them with slavery and inflict wounds on them every day. This article was first publised at 00:05 on Day 700. 13 hours later, the offensive against Magyar began as Brolliance and EDEN brought the first wave down on what will become a massive offensive to change alliance bonds. The New World's first-year birthday is marked by the clash of titans.
With the arrival of these events, the First Salute "oo7" has been raised on this Day 700. The Duncan proto-era nears its close as the Behemoth and Leviathan begin their battle to the end of days. Which Beast survives matter little, since one day eParadise will be set free and become and EDEN unto itself. But until that time, much turmoil will come through war and through subterfuge of Pauper Prince and Lying Sleeper. A New Year is approaching within this century, two more salutes to herald the final stand.

Quality Propaganda Machine: Domestic Action League member and henchman of the President, Scorpius, has revealed to me their support of Socialism. Apparently according to this individual, Socialism works and Russia is a great example of it! Anyone who thinks that an oppressive dictatorship with a murderous thug like Joseph Stalin is an example of Socialism being a successful system is not fit for any position, real or imaginary.
