Meals On Wheels Canada BETA
Hello all, this is Minister Artorius Perim of Health speaking.
You might have heard rumors of a new government program called the Meals On Wheels Canada, or MOWC to be short.
The MOWC will go into a 2 week period of BETA starting October 12th, 2009 to October 26th, 2009, where testing will be done and basically a first assessment of the new program. Want to know more about MOWC? Just scroll down…
The MOWC (Meals On Wheels Canada) will serve 2 purposes.
1. Serving free food to new players through a working system. (see below)
2. Delivering food to those on vacation, with limited inventory space. (see below)
A. New eCanadian Citizens Free Food Package
New Citizens of eCanada will be eligible for free food, or a “package” of food. How? Well, once you message the organization Meals On Wheels Canada asking to join the program, you will be asked to start working at the Canadian Wheat Board at minimum wage. Each new citizen is welcome to work here for minimum wage for as long as they want, for each day you work here you will receive 1 Q1 Food FREE. While working here you will receive PMs (Personal Messages) about learning about eRepublik and how to help eCanada, also to learn how to fight well, keep your wellness up above 40 and all the other basics. Not only will this make you a prominent eCanadian, but after you learn all these things through our working system, you will become beneficial to the eCanada community
If you feel as though you’re ready to go into the eRepublik and earn a higher wage, you may resign working from the Canadian Wheat Board and take on a higher paying job. Thus ending your free food packages. The Meals On Wheels Canada program is designed to give you free food, and to inform our new citizens. Not only are you saving your money, you are also gaining new knowledge about the New World and helping out eCanada.
So, in order to get enrolled into this program, all you have to do is message the Meals On Wheels Canada organization to get started!
B. Food Package Delivery System
Going away on a trip? No food to eat while away? Players on Vacation, who have limited inventory space will be able to apply for a delivery system. Players who have limited inventory space, will have food delivered to them (donated) each day they are gone. But, they will be the ones paying for the food.
The food Quality will be your choice, but we will charge you than the market price. This service is only for anybody who has no one else to do it, or can only trust the CHS/MOWC.
Price Example:
Quality of Food Price of Delivery per Food
Q1 $1.00CAD
Q2 $2.00CAD
Q3 $3.50CAD
Q4 $4.25CAD
Q5 $7.75CAD
(Prices may change)
The above prices are the prices you will pay for each food, per day you are away. For example, if you are away for 5 Days and you would like the Meals On Wheels Canada program to deliver food to you, you can choose any Quality of Food. If you would like Q3 for 5 days, you will pay a total of $17.50CAD. And in return, the MOWC will send you the food.
This program is designed for players who will be away, but do not have enough inventory space to store food for the amount of days they are away.

Kudos on the meals on wheels program it is an excellent concept and has been very successful in the e USA for a while now. Helping new citizens and vacationing citizens from starvation is a positive step in the right direction.
If I may suggest an improvement that will also help and benefit Canada in the long term and one you should consider if you please, coordinate employment of new citizens in this program with the minister of industries for Canada. It is critical that we also address future labour markets as our population grows and stacking the labour pool with just one specific skill set will only harm future growth.
I know Canada has crown corporations operating in other areas and citizens should also be employed in these sectors as well, development of resource regions with a strong skill set population can then further be supported by Federal infrastructure in critical regions that we will eventually need to populate as our population grows.
Placing all our “skill set eggs” in one basket neither serves industry or the national economy and the future affects on the economy will be detrimental to growth.
Just a thought if this beta test works out well for you.

This sounds like a nice new program.
Also - I've been a long time supporter of the Canadian Health Services gifting program.
Nice work.
Now perhaps this is not exactly the place to present my idea but it's related and you are the Minister of Health.
I think it would be a great idea if Meals On Wheels Canada, Canadian Health Services, or some related Org would look after the Crown Corporation employees by supplying Food and Gifts to raise their wellness. There are a number of employees that have under 40 or 50 wellness that can't heal on their own, they live in Q0 Hospital regions, some even continue to work under poor wellness. Sakura19 works for Q1 Government Arms and is currently at 2.04 Wellness and continues to work (at least the past 2 days from what i can see).
The other day I wondered if I could help my coworkers out (Health Canada) so I spent aprox. 2 Gold on Gifts and gifted all the workers (about 5) that had poor wellness as much as I could, but realized that I'm going to have to fork out 2 Gold/day for maybe a week or more. And this is just one Crown Corporation. Some employees will move on in that time, some will keep working in this Q5 company despite their condition making it harder to improve their wellness. I have thrown the newbie article link their way, link to MOWC, the Canadian Health Services link, and a link to Canadian Citizens Organization. I don't have the necessary funds to continue to keep them up.

@Blue Bird: Yes, I believe we do that occasionally, but sadly I'm not the Minister of Industries. I agree with you, we need to start to gift the Crown Employees with low wellness/low level. I'll try my best after the BETA to get some more programs enrolled into MOWC, You're article and the comments all make good points. But I'm afraid I cannot do anything of these things until the MOWC BETA period is over, once it is, I will take a serious look at it. Thank you,
