Romania Tangles with Hungary, Spain Moves on UK-Occupied France, Day 1036

Day 1,036, 11:10 Published in USA USA by Lieutenant Scheisskopf

Much of the world has been embroiled in conflict in the past 24 hours, with a healthy mixture of ‘old’ and ‘new’ battles. EDEN members made notable gains during that time, although it seems that any advances deeper into eHungary by the eRomanians may be halted for the time being.

Romania Makes Initial Gains, Driven Back
One of the longest continuously running wars in the game turned a new chapter, as eRomania and its allies conquered Northern Great Plain late on Day 1035, and made its first inroads against their long-time foe in several months. The battle was fiercely contested by both sides, with international mobile forces taking part, and plenty of gold spent to sway the outcome. eRomania’s venture into Hungary, however, was far from over and far from secure, as eHungary immediately counterattacked and overran the eRomanian forward operating base (FO😎 in the region late in Day 1036.

Following their initial victory, eRomania focused on pushing deeper into Hungary by attacking Northern Hungary. This battle, however, was closed by the admins because eRomania launched the attack from Northern Great Plain, which had already come under eHungarian fire. The effectiveness of eHungary’s counterattack in Northern Great Plain has entirely stalled eRomania's offensive. It will be interesting to see whether or not the region returns to status quo ante bellum with eHungary back in control of Northern Great Plain, if eRomania attempts to regain momentum and attack their Phoenix neighbor once more, or if eHungary looks to build off their most recent victory.

Spain Moves on British-Occupied France
The eSpanish moved on eUK-occupied France once more on Day 1035, following their attempt from a week prior. Unlike a week ago, when eSpain led for much of the battle but finally lost, eSpain was poised for victory in Midi-Pyrenees and easily conquered the region. An eSpanish victory has put eSpain one step closer to removing the eUK and its allies from their border, and from gaining an extra feeling of security there. Successfully removing the eUK from Southern France may also embolden eSpain to challenge for eFrance’s high stone regions in Aquitaine in the coming days. However, the eUK quickly counterattacked the now eSpanish-occupied Midi-Pyrenees; as was seen in eRomania's Hungarian campaign, the counterattack will prevent any further eSpanish offfensive into eUK-occupied France for the time being.

Ireland Seeks Sole Control Over Its Island
Treading along controversial real life (RL) issues, eIreland’s president has demanded the eUK to leave Northern Ireland, a RL-British region, so the area may join the rest of the island of eIreland. The president’s declaration has invited a wave of propaganda in eIrish media, and the battle which opened for control of the region was largely brushed aside by the larger and more numerous eUK. With strong international support, however, eIreland successfully conquered the region and has taken complete control of the island; whether the eUK looks to retake their Irish enclave will remain to be seen.

The Wrap-Up
What remains to be seen are whether eRomania continues this offensive, and what will become of eSpain’s advances against the eUK. While eIreland’s efforts were to sincere, they were destined to failure before gaining substantial support from international backers. The coming days will be interesting to watch, as we may see increased momentum in the world’s fighting form-- one can certainly hope, since it has been quiet for the most part.
