Spain, Indonesia on the Attack, Day 1028

Day 1,028, 16:42 Published in USA USA by Lieutenant Scheisskopf

As promised recently, the Stars and Stripes Journal (S&SJ) is ramping up once more to cover the New World's military developments. An unexpected attack on the mainland eUSA was supplemented by eIndonesian attacks against eAustralia, and an ongoing eSpanish-eUK struggle, which combined have given some life to Day 1028. And in S&SJ news, this paper is considering a new logo; be sure to offer your thoughts on the choices below by voicing your favorite.

Portugal Attacks Southeastern USA
In a move reminiscent of summer 2009, ePortugal attacked Georgia and took the eUSA by surprise. ePortugal is fighting solo against 13 activated mutual protection pacts (MPPs), so the attack is not a serious maneuver-- it is interesting for its timing nonetheless. Since the attack started at 13:36 server time, its closing would give the attacker a second chance to strike during prime local time and pull an unlikely victory on Day 1029. In the meantime, however, ePortuguese fighters have not engaged and this front appears unlikely to grab international attention beyond the irregularity of seeing ePortugal attacking the eUS. We should consider it a damage drain and leave it at that, for now.

eSpain's attack on Midi-Pyrenees could help remove the eUK from southern France, and may put eFrance's stone regions under threat in the coming days

Spain and UK Fight in France
eSpain's attack on Midi-Pyrenees from Day 1027 closed after a tough-fought finish in the eUK's favor, even though eSpain controlled over 1/2 of the tiles for much of the battle. The eUK heavily fortified the area surrounding the region's capital and hospital, and was able to fend off the attacking force in the final minutes, reclaiming enough tiles from eSpain and its allies. Were eSpain to have won the region, it could have placed the eUK's other region in southern France within striking distance; success in removing the eUK and its stack of allies would eventually give some security to the eSpanish along its northern border, and who knows-- with additional security, they may become ambitious and move on eFrance's stone-rich regions once more, as they have done previously. For the time being, however, the eSpanish offensive against eUK-occupied France has been repulsed.

From its Australian foothold, eIndonesia targeted eAustralia's remaining high titanium (squared) on Day 1028, and opened a second front for a deeper advance into the world's smallest continent

Indonesia Advances in Australia
Finally on Day 1028, eIndonesia reignited tensions with their Pacific Ocean neighbors and attacked at South Australia and Northern Territory, Australia. Both regions were quickly overrun, and despite relatively thin positioning by eIndonesia, no counterattack was successful enough in returning Northern Territory to the eAussies. With the fall of Northern Territory, eAustralia's remaining high titanium region fell to eIndonesia, who also controls natively eAustralian Western Australia. eIndonesia won the battle for South Australia minutes later, and as expected, pushed deeper into eAustralia by next targeting Victoria and Queensland. eAustralia remains in dire straits, but it may allow eIndonesia to complete its conquest of the country so that a political takeover (PTO) government may be forced to lose power. While this idea seems logical on the surface, one must wonder if the "lesser of two evils" is the occupying eIndonesian military. Time will tell on this front.

Changing Logo, and Closing
As promised at the beginning, I am considering a new look to the S&SJ; the current logo is the one I have used since this paper's beginning, and although I do like it, I thought it may be time for a change. Here are a few options I am considering, and would appreciate your vote-- just comment with which one you prefer:
1. Current logo:
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.

God Bless America,
