Mature stage: Modern (1979-1989)
Dividing the mature stage into two classical and modern can be controversial, but differences between the two can be established. One difference is the number of rows of bullets. Until metabolic Transformer (Mortadelo, February to March 1979), the stories had five rows of bullets, but from then passed to four. Given that the number of pages does not vary, this means a decrease in the total number of panels per adventure. They lost, therefore, something of density, both in history and in the visual aspect.
Another difference (which need not necessarily coincide in time with the change in the number of bullets) is that stories happen to have some references to the present, which would give reasons to call the first adventures classic, whose stories are more timeless. It increases the use of scatological gags and repeated from other albums. Some of them are people of Vicente, Kidnapping air in Germany (done for the German public where the series was a great success) or spatial Cocoa. Also at this time begin to emerge first comic "apocryphal", that is, not made by Ibanez as comes the Treasury or the infallible crecepelo because Bruguera wanted to squeeze the most successful agents.

However, even after reversion, Ibanez continued to rely on a time collaborators , resulting in several apocryphal stories more .
