Polish War Machine Mobilized, Brazil Launches Preemptive Strike (Day 883)

Day 883, 16:22 Published in USA USA by Lieutenant Scheisskopf

Following a lull in international focus on eSouth Africa and the Levant regional conflict, the world braced itself for an impending battle as Day 882 events unfolded. The ePolish declaration of war on eMexico caught many by surprise and gave way to endless speculation on ePoland’s motives and objectives; the related region swapping campaign put ePoland in undeniable striking distance of either North or South America and added fuel to the fires of the rumor mill. And just as ePoland was on the cusp of having its declaration of war on eMexico take effect, eBrazil launched a preemptive strike on the Canary Islands, attacking eSouth Africa at the Northern Cape to get a war with ePoland. Let’s take a look at each event.

Poland Declares War on Mexico
ePoland’s first aggressive act was their declaration of war on tiny eMexico, a country relatively well-protected by geography and non-aggression pacts with its neighbors. Although relations with the eUS ebb and flow because of real life (RL) tensions and eMexico’s role in World War 3, the two North American countries have never threatened each other militarily since and as a result, eMexico felt little need to create and renew expensive mutual protection pacts (MPPs). This fact left eMexico with only eMalaysia as an MPP so that it could take part in Sol war games; consequently, eMexico was weak and vulnerable, and even with a few allies, the country had no real chance contesting the world’s strongest power. eMexico has since furiously built a network of MPPs with Entente and Phoenix countries to attempt to mitigate the impending threat.

North America returns to international focus as eMexico comes under ePoland’s crosshairs

However, it still begs the question of what ePoland’s intentions are. eMexico’s actions signal that they are no willing or complicit partner in an upcoming invasion of the eUS as a good friend has speculated, by rolling over and letting ePoland cross through without the ePoles first informing the eUS of its objectives. It would seem illogical on eMexico's part to resist ePoland’s advance and sign a slew of MPPs if they were willingly letting the European juggernaut traverse its lands en route to the eUS. Instead, as many others have opined, the end objective seems to be resource-driven as most good battles are. There is no secret that ePoland’s massive size is offset by a want of resources. eMexico, on the other hand, is blessed with high oil regions in Southeast of Mexico and the Valley of Mexico, which would be two plausible targets for ePoland to fuel its economy. An interesting ePolish publication suggests that ePoland and eSpain might be acting jointly against eMexico to split the country's two oil regions for themselves.

If and when the attack on eMexico comes, the key battle will be the third fight. ePoland’s first move would have to be against the oil-rich SE of Mexico, but any subsequent move towards the Gulf of Mexico could suggest ambitions of attacking the eUS if the Valley of Mexico was not the third region attacked. Time will tell what their end objectives are, but Phoenix fighting against the ePoles in eMexico-- or Phoenix tanks fighting for ePoland-- may suggest an invasion of the eUS is the end objective after all.

Poland Swaps for the Canary Islands, Brazil Starts Blocking Attack

ePoland has options to advance either to North America and threaten eMexican resources
or eUS sovereignty, or to move on South America and try again for the North of Brazil
(eVenezuela, in orange, can also be attacked and holds some high oil regions, too)

In step with ePoland’s diplomatic aggression towards eMexico, the country put itself in position of invading the Western Hemisphere by swapping with eSpain for the Canary Islands. It is notable what options ePoland would have from the islands, as both North and South America are viable targets. Many will recall the incredible sequence of events which ePoland pursued in trying to take the resource paradise, North of Brazil (No😎 from eBrazil months ago. If ePoland is motivated by gaining resources, then NoB would be a perfectly logical target, and eBrazil would be entirely reasonable in also being afraid of the EDEN power advancing on its doorstep.

Out of concern for its own safety, and buying eMexico some time in the process, eBrazil launched a preemptive strike on ePoland, preventing the European forces from crossing into the Western Hemisphere while the region is attacked. The Canary Islands hold a very high wall at the time of this article’s publication, but what is interesting is that some Phoenix sympathizers and super tanks have fought for the defenders. By no means did eBrazil intend to win the battle, but it does buy time to sign alliances (including with eMexico, the other threatened country) in the event that ePoland, when able, does move south and hope to make good on a battle it attempted 70 days ago.

Both countries face a common threat

Brazil Reopens Fight in Africa
Just before its counterstrike on the Canary Islands, eBrazil also moved on Northern Cape, South Africa and reignited a fight in Africa. The attack came as eBrazil was extending an olive branch to their Southern Hemisphere rival, but the motive seems to have instead been to open a chain reaction war with ePoland, which facilitated the Phoenix country's ability to quickly declare war on the menacing ePolish advance and demonstrated impressive gaming mechanics acumen. Having seen the peace proposal before voting it favorably, eSA seems able to reject it and to fight to secure its region in case eBrazil tried anything to surreptitiously win the battle. eBrazil is likely well aware that if ePoland threatens the Phoenix power, any reopened conflict in Africa woul be a thorn in their side-- especially if eBrazil were to win and need to defend the region from eSA.

Wrapping Up
Well, ePoland is making things very interesting, but it will take the return of ePolish initiative to figure out what their intentions are and how the world reacts. The Canary Islands gives the world’s strongest country plenty of options, and will keep international attention focused here for several days. Phoenix’s responses suggest they are not complicit in an ePolish advance on the eUS-- or an ePolish advance in general-- but the media mills will continue to spin with accusations all over the place. I can promise one thing: this newspaper will remain devoted to reporting facts and giving well-reasoned analysis, and leave the media wars to other sources.

God Bless America,

Lt. Scheisskopf
