Right on the heels of a day in which everyone fought everyone, Day 813 brought the finish to some major battles, including three contested for pivotal high iron regions. The volatile nature of these events has given way to an equally dynamic aftermath full of more storylines to follow.

Philippines Carves Through China, Encounters Resistance
The Day 812 battles waged by eRussia against eChina at Liaoning and Xinjiang were both progressing in eRussia’s favor into Day 813, when the ePhilippines began a region swapping campaign with eChina. As both countries are members of the Sol alliance and had been participating in a training war recently, the active war between them was already in place; the ePhilippines used this to region swap across eChina, through Guangxi, Yunnan, Tibet, Sichuan, Qinghai, Shaanxi, Henan, and Shandong in a three-hour span. By controlling these 8 regions, the ePhilippines is able to block further eRussian advance on eChina, but ePakistan could still region swap with eRussia into Xianjing. Late in Day 813, a RW in Xianjing was started by eChinese fighters to combat this possibility and resist eRussia's advance.

The ePhilippines (purple) carved up eChina as if it were a maze, in order to
keep eRussia (pink) from advancing deeper on the eChinese. Resistance wars (circled),
will keep the ePhilippines and eRussia both busy with their newly gained regions.

In response to the ePhilippine maneuver, Phoenix elites started resistance wars (RW) in Tibet, Qinghai, and Shandong. A Phoenix victory in any of the three RWs would open up portions of eChina to further attack, although a win by the resistance force in Tibet would enable ePakistan-- who has an active war with eChina-- to attack from the south and pave the way for eSerbia to finish their long-anticipated land bridge route to an Asian resource region.

Russia Wins Two Battles Against China, Obtains Iron Region
The ePhilippine action and the Phoenix response mentioned above were possible and necessary because of the success eRussia had in Liaoning and Xinjiang, conquering both regions behind tanking efforts facilitated by EDEN’s inability to act due to a distributed denial of service (DDoS) against eRepublik servers which began and finished during the battle’s final hours. eChina’s defeat at Liaoning will be a setback for a developing young nation, as eRussia assumes control of the region’s high iron and can claim it as their third high iron region (after Urals and the region of Western Siberia). In all likelihood, eRussia is simply a placeholder for eSerbia, as the latter member of Phoenix lacks natural resources and originally embarked on their journey to Asia to secure a resource region of their own. The economic boon for eSerbia would be immense, and would serve a growing population; it would also signal a major setback for EDEN, as the original intent of the Asian campaign was to topple Phoenix control of the Three Pillars, which would be undone by this transfer of Liaoning.

ePeru’s victory in North of Brazil was followed by ePoland’s movements
through eSpain, suggesting that the ePolish will eventually pass into South America

Peru Wins North of Brazil in Overtime Battle
In another hotly contested and bug-infested battle, ePeru and various EDEN militaries defeated eBrazil and its Phoenix allies in an intense battle for the North of Brazil, a battle which lasted for nearly an hour of overtime as EDEN and Phoenix both sought to secure a definitive outcome in this pivotal region. In the same day that Phoenix power, eRussia, gained an iron region, so also did another Phoenix member, eBrazil, lose one-- but the North of Brazil also holds high wood, and medium diamonds and grain, making this victory a major win for EDEN in its own right. As with the eRussian victory of Liaoning, it seems that the victor of the region will not be the one reaping its spoils. The ePolish-friendly government in ePeru is likely holding it until an EDEN power can enter the region and better utilize and secure it with its larger population and stronger military.

Poland Region Swaps Across Spain as Resistance Wars Commence
Nearly immediately upon ePeru’s victory, a resistance war for North of Brazil began, which will jeopardize ePeru’s hold on the region and will delay any possible region swapping. Also in tandem with ePeru’s initial success was a series of region swaps by ePoland with eSpain, as the ePolish crossed the Pyrenees mountains and moved through eSpanish Aragon, Castilla La Mancha, Andalucia, and the Canary Islands. ePoland started an attack on ePeruvian North of Brazil, but because of the RW, ePeru could not retreat the region; as a result, the final owner of this region will not be known until both battles are resolved on Day 814. Whether or not ePoland would declare war on eBrazil will remain to be seen-- were the region to fall back under eBrazilian control, the odds of a war between the New World’s largest country and the South American power would be likely.

As the rest of the world focuses on Brazil and China, Europe
has taken a backseat in prioritization of the war for Phoenix and EDEN

Other News
The resistance wars started yesterday in South East of England, Karnataka, and Delaware were secured by the eUSA without much drama, as the RWs seem to have served the purposes of halting EDEN in Great Britain and keeping the eUS military from fighting alongside eChina. To keep initiative in the eUK, the eUSA continued its blocking of the eUK with an attack on the West Midlands, which will likely remain secured by the eUK as so much other activity has transpired and captivated the eUS and Phoenix. It is apparent that in the meantime, the eUK theater of this war is much less important for both combatants, and will likely receive less attention until the other new battles resolve themselves.

eGreece capitalized on its successes against eTurkey, and moved from the Aegean Coast of Turkey towards Central Anatolia, a region with immense blocking potential for eGreece, as it touches several other eTurkish regions. eGreece may also be looking to blaze a trail through eTurkey and into Asia. Back when this war started, EDEN made it their intent to open a second front in Asia by either eGreek or eRomanian advances, and additional successes here could place eGreece on the eIranian border with a possible war declaration if they keep winning. Alternatively, if eGreece moves on other eTurkish regions, then the priority in this theater would seem to be directed entirely against eTurkey.

The Week That Was (TWTW) will probably be coming a day earlier than normal, as I will likely be traveling this Friday and unable to publish at that time. If I fail to publish before then, then it will be out on Monday. Thanks always for reading and giving me feedback on my reporting, in which I aim to provide all the latest updates, facts, and analysis without taking sides.

God Bless America,
