Phoenix Moves in Iberian Peninsula as Five States Fight in Germany, Day 1088

Day 1,088, 14:52 Published in USA USA by Lieutenant Scheisskopf

Just one day after eSpain reasserted control over the Iberian Peninsula, eFrance and eBrazil attempted once more to establish their own offensives. Meanwhile, Day 1088 brought one country to the edge of extinction, while five others continue to duke it out in Germany. This newspaper also has to offer thanks to its readers, for helping my previous article result in the Stars and Stripes Journal becoming just the 33rd newspaper in eRepublik to reach 6000 subscribers.

After a few days of setbacks, eFrance and eBrazil attempt to regain momentum in Spain

France, Brazil Launch New Attacks
eFrance attempted to turn the tables in its war with eSpain on Day 1088, attacking Catalonia, Navarra, and Castilla la Mancha in the 06:00 hour. Combined with eBrazil’s second attempt against Andalucia which started at 05:26, the Phoenix powers are moving once more against the Iberian Peninsula. While eBrazil’s victory would enable it to have a new foothold in Spain, eFrance could move within striking distance of the eSpanish capital, Madrid, if it won in Castilla la Mancha. For its part, eSpain attempted earlier in Day 1088 to remove eBrazil from the naturally ePortuguese region of Algarve, but has not had success yet as it protects against four eFrench and eBrazilian attacks. Only Catalonia is in the attacker’s favor of all these battles, which would provide little benefit to the eFrench apart from connecting the currently occupied Aragon to the rest of eFrance.

eFinland and eLatvia may, combined, eliminate tiny eEstonia by early Day 1089

Estonia Approaches Extinction
The eFinland offensive against eEstonia kicked into high gear with new attacks on Laane-Eesti and Kirde-Eesti early in Day 1088. With more mutual protection pacts (MPPs) an a larger population, eFinland overran the former and leads in the fight for Kirde-Eesti; combined with an attack by eLatvia on Day 1087 against Louna-Eesti, tiny eEstonia is poised to be eliminated from the map despite putting up a fierce resistance on the eLatvian front. With Phoenix aid earlier in the month, eEstonia was able to win back its regions from eFinland on Day 1079, but the eEstonians may once again be relegated to waging an insurgency campaign to regain its freedom and its high grain resources.

eItaly, ePoland, and the eUK are all on the move in Germany

Five Countries Continue Fight in Germany
After winning in Lower Saxony and Bremen (LS😎, eSweden was attacked by the eUK there and chose not to defend it, letting the eUK take control of LSB to allow ePoland to continue moving through Germany and possibly attack the eUK later. From there, the eUK quickly opened two new fronts against eSweden during the 11:00 hour at Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg (SH&H), and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (M-WP). The attacks put eSweden’s foothold in Germany in jeopardy, as well as the high grain which SH&H provides; as a result, eSweden seems to be heavily prioritizing its defense of SH&H, while the eUK has gained an advantage in M-WP, a dangerous move for the eUK as winning there will directly border native ePolish regions.

ePoland continues, without much resistance, along a path which will
enable it to attack eFrance’s Rhone Alps by Day 1091 at the earliest

In Southern Germany, eItaly held off eGermany’s attempt to regain Bavaria, and attacked Saxony on Day 1088 at 05:01. With fewer allies than the attacker and orders to fight elsewhere, eGermany has fallen far behind in defense of this region. More important in these battles, however, is the ePolish fight for Hesse, which the EDEN giant is winning easily. ePoland is making steady progress towards achieving a monthly goal of conquering eFrance’s high stone haven of Rhone Alps, which the ePolish had enjoyed for months in 2010 before losing it in a massive battle on Day 886. Success in Hesse puts ePoland one step closer towards achieving a national goal, regaining a high stone region, and weakening eFrance’s economy.

6000!
My previous article gave the Stars and Stripes Journal a total of 6000 subscribers and my sixth media mogul medal, an achievement I am very proud of and grateful for your support. This newspaper is my biggest in-game achievement, and I appreciate that you all have given me feedback to keep writing, something I love to do and something which has made this newspaper one of 16 citizen papers (the other 17 are tied to various governments) to have 6000 readers. However, I will not be able to do this forever. I will become too busy for war reporting (not for eRepublik) in January, and want to make sure the space I fill in media is covered when my paper stops regularly publishing. Stay tuned for my plan on how to make that happen 🙂

Upcoming
The coming days will be extremely eventful, as a fight in Germany between EDEN’s largest power and the eUK with its Phoenix partners is near imminent, and ePoland closes in on its coveted high stone regions. Although Phoenix has resumed an offensive against eSpain, it does not appear that the front will fluctuate as much as it had earlier this week; the same can be said for the volatile Southeast Europe, where eCroatia, eHungary, eRomania, and eSerbia continue their fights without much change. Nevertheless, we will witness intense fights in Germany and France in the coming days, something for all to look forward to.

God Bless America,

Lt. Scheisskopf
