Introducing the Salvation Army

I am pleased to bring the following announcement from the Department of the Interior to you:

The Salvation Army Project is a combined operation of the Mentorship Program, the Meals on Wheels Program, and the Flying Unicorn Squadron. It is a mainly volunteer program and will require everyday eAmericans like you and I to make work. If successful, it could help the eUSA reach the 10,000 Fist mark of ten thousand active eAmerican citizens. Best of all, it is a plan that helps people new or lost in the game already.

Volunteers will mass-mail all eAmericans living in the Wasteland regions of the eUSA offering support from The Salvation Army project. Those who respond will:

1. Be Gifted to >40 wellness (in order to fight)
2. Be sent a Moving Ticket to move to CA or FL (to heal)
3. Be given food (to increase wellness)
4. Be offered employment at one of the job training centers operated by Congress (to work)
5. Be paired with a Mentor for two weeks (to learn the mechanics of the game)

This program basically offers all a new eAmerican needs to become an active and productive citizen. If you are interested in helping by volunteering, please contact Jude Connors in game or on the eUSA Forums.



Welcoming Committee Needs You

Secretary of Citizen Affairs Chocolate McSkittles has an article out discussing many operations and new opportunities in the Citizen Affairs department. The Welcoming Committee will be looking for extremely trustworthy people to staff its gun distribution. It needs people to vote up eRepublik on various websites to help with recruitment and people to frequent forums and eRepublik chat rooms to help with retention. About East Asia

American forces invaded Kyushu, Japan on 7 December, attempting to open the route to the oppressed nations of East Asia. Despite a strong showing by our forces and considerable support from our Croatian friends, the assault was repelled, mostly by Phoenix tanks. Japan defended itself with more mutual protection pacts, making a second invasion less likely to succeed.

The President of Japan, Dokomo, published an article after the Japanese victory. It was not addressed to the United States and EDEN but to Phoenix, who continue to hold significant territory originally belonging to China. In his article, he called on Phoenix to liberate all Chinese regions but Heilongjiang.

The President of Hungary, Feherlofia Koppany, rejected Dokomo’s ultimatum.

Japan has taken a bold stand against Phoenix and allowed the United States to pass through Kyushu. Today, Japan retreated from a second American attack on Kyushu, Japan. Dokomo discussed the restoration of Japanese honor in his recent article.

The United States is now liberating Fujian, China from Indonesian occupation. Several American mutual protection pacts, activated when Indonesia invaded the United States during World War 3, will help in our noble endeavor. Citizens can request weapons from the Welcoming Committee to fight this battle here.



Romania Invades Bulgaria

Romania invaded Bulgaria two days ago, conquering the border regions of Varne, Ruse, and Vidin. This is not an operation intended for conquest of Bulgaria so much as a small part of a larger Romanian campaign. Romania conquered Burgas and Plovdiv in another wave, leaving the last Bulgarian region Sofia, in the southwest. During the campaign, Vidin was lost to Serbia. While Serbia invades Ruse, Romania has declared war on Turkey. No original Romanian region has been attacked, so the mutual protection pact between Romania and the United States is not active.



Greece vs Turkey

Turkey has a long history of aggressive action against and military occupation of Greece. This is how Greece has ten mutual protection pacts activated against Turkey, including one with the United States. Recently, Greece was called upon to assist Israel in the Turkey-Israel war made volatile by impeached Israeli President JMatH. Now, Greece is attacking Turkey, the second attack on Turkish soil coming in Mediterranean Coast of Turkey. Look for DoD Orders as they may pertain to either Turkey or Indonesia.



United States Training Corps

The United States Training Corps, the entry point for higher branches of the United States military, is still taking new recruits. Home Guard, Mobile Infantry, Army – they all get their start in the Training Corps. Training Corps recruits participated in recent battles shoulder-to-shoulder with other eUS military branches. Anyone with aspirations of an eUS military career should start at this spreadsheet:

Pony Express

The Pony Express is a Department of Media organization that votes up articles on a daily basis. Anyone can participate, as it costs nothing to vote up an article. The coming days will likely see many attempts at propaganda, trolling, and misdirection in the eUS media. Uttar Pradesh Liberated

As part of an ongoing war of liberation against Iran, India attacked Uttar Pradesh, a high grain region under Iranian control. The battle, which had no activated mutual protection pacts, was a victory for India. Unlike other regions liberated from Iran, such as Northern India and Bihar, this was an Indian military action and not a resistance war. Elements of the Azad Hind Fauj and deployed elements from Spain and of SEAL Team 6 contributed extensively to the victory.



ST6 Media Mogul Project

Tormod recently began a media mogul project with the intent of raising funds for SEAL Team 6. To help, all one needs to do is subscribe to newspapers on the list found here. The gold from the Media Mogul achievements will fund the SEALs, and many of the newspapers are good reads anyway.
