Getting the Ball Rolling
By: Macros the "Black"

Well, here you are. You have more then likely been referred to this article by a friend, or some raving lunatic who keeps shouting "check this article out!" Don't be alarmed - this happens a lot. That's what the Department of Education is all about - getting you to click that link and rise above the *ignorant* savages you all are! *cough* So, let's get you started here shall we?

As a new player, you are given three grain farms and a Q1 Food Factory. This will be the footing of your empire and the first stepping stone on the long path to self-sufficiency. So, let's get to work shall we?

Things You Might Come Across!

Base Production: The default production rate for a company, before territory bonuses are added.

Territory Bonuses: The bonus production granted for holding certain resource materials in your country. There are five different materials for both food and weapons. For food bonuses: fruit, fish, grain, cattle and deer. For weapons; oil, rubber, saltpeter, iron and aluminum. You receive a 20% bonus for each resource you hold.

Food Resource Material (FRM): Material used to produce foodstuffs.

Weapon Resource Material (WRM): Material used to produce weapons.

Grain Farm: The lowest-producing food resource material company available, you get three of these to fund your food factory. Base Production is set at 35 units.

Food Factory: The food factory converts your FRM into food products, which can be consumed for 2 health each. Base Production is 100 units.

Lan😛 An empty plot of land that you can build new farms and factories on! You must first purchase the land for 1000 USD!

You can learn more about the full range of buildings available to you by looking over our article here.

                                     Leveling Up and Moving Forward

Leveling up experience wise is one of the most important parts of the game. So, how does one level up? That's simple - experience is earned when certain actions are committed. Not too bad!

a) 1xp is earned each time you fight.
b) 2xp is earned each time you work or train.

You will also get a steady stream of medals as you grow, the two most common being Hard Worker (working for 30 days in a row) and Super Soldier (gaining 250 strength). Medals give you 5 gold each when you get them!

Try to save all the gold you get from leveling up; it can be used on anything you want to do, whether it's building new companies, becoming an MU leader or defending the country!

The game likely forced you to start working in your companies and fight in a battle or two in your tutorial, and that's fine. You should work at your companies and make food for fighting! Fighting is a rewarding experience and it keeps those pig disgusting Serbians at bay. However, you will soon find out that those free weapons and food don't last long. Well, there is a solution to that.

                                           Joining a Military Unit

What is a Military Unit?

Since I knew you were going to ask this question, I have an answer. A military unit is a group of players that fight for a specific cause, country etc. and produce damage in coordinated attacks. They often have communes - low income (aka tax exempt) companies which supply members with either free food, free weapons, or both!

What are some good military units to join?

You can find a listing of all the glorious MUs receiving government funding at the bottom of our fighting guide here, or you can just join the official military - the U.S. Armed Forces - here.

After you've gotten into a military unit, you can start developing your rank faster and help fight off the ONE scum. Everyone's damage counts, from the oldest player to the youngest; don't let any one tell you otherwise.
