Let's Chat #7: Will TWO Collapse?

On the 4th September 2013 (Day 2,176), CoT declared that it had broken up, marking the end of World War VI. The CoTWO war had ended and TWO had been declared victorious. Now, TWO is the only major alliance in the eWorld and they are dominating.

Of course, at the end of an era, rumours are expected. People would naturally start thinking ‘what next?’ and the future for TWO members is looking uncertain. But something will happen! Rifts are forming in TWO and I want to discuss whether or not TWO could collapse and, if so, what it could break down into? Let’s go!



As you may well know, Spain is currently finding itself in trouble. The Spanish CP decided not to renew the Non-Aggression Pact (NAP) with Portugal and that Spain should invade them instead. However, the first battle that Spain launched was a failure. Portugal won and that meant that they had the initiative (the ability to start new battles) and Spain had to wait for them to make the next move. So Portugal rallied its allies and launched a counter-attack on Spain with great success.


Portugal has taken a few Spanish regions. It’s doesn’t look like too much damage but Spain is quite a lot larger than Portugal and Spain is a founding member of the only major alliance, TWO!

In the last TWO article, there was a brief statement about this situation in Spain. It said ‘All of our troops are there to help them. We never let someone behind, and it won’t begin now. All our swords are directed against Spanish opponents.’ Of course TWO said this! Spain is one of the six founding members, after all! But that was not all that was said in that article. Look at the comments and you will see a LOT of things like this:

‘Half of TWO alliance have hitting against Spain’ and ‘TWO and ACT members clearly support Spain HAHAHAAHAAHA’.

These are comments and they are only people’s opinions so you shouldn’t take them too seriously. But Spain do have a history of clashing with other TWO members. Spain have had close relations with many South American countries, particularly the sub-alliance RoLA (Chile, Brazil, Peru and Paraguay) which were all affiliated with CoT.

These countries all have a history of fighting with Argentina (they still are!) and Argentina currently has MPPs with many TWO nations since Argentina is pro-TWO. This clash between TWO and Spanish interests in South America is still true now and is described quite nicely in an old article about TWO and RoLA.



As I just said, Spain’s relationship with the other TWO members has been rather fragile considering that they are meant to be in an alliance of brotherhood. Perhaps it may surprise you to hear that Portugal has MPPs with Argentina, Colombia and Romania (all considered pro-TWO).

But this has been the case since the start of the CoTWO war and it has never led to any big problems so why worry about it now? Well, because Spain’s relationship with some TWO members is becoming more strained than it was previously.

Both last week and this week, Hungary and Spain have been kept busy with a lot of battles and they both require support from TWO. However, as highlighted in this Ukrainian article, this is causing a split of TWO damage. Who do TWO members fight for when there are many different battles all at the same time? Which battles are the most important? If anything, this is only increasing the tension within TWO.




However, the tensions are not mounting between only a few countries. Cracks are starting to run right the way across TWO HQ. For instance, this Hungarian article talks about the Spain versus Portugal war. However, there is a slightly different take on it here as the article suggests that Spain and Hungary (i.e. the Spanish side) are fighting against Argentina and Romania (i.e. the Portuguese side). Again, articles like this are showing the mounting tension within TWO as it seemingly is becoming more divided.



Not only are TWO members fighting against each other in the Spanish war, there are also TWO members fighting against each other in the Slovenia vs Austria war. Slovenia is a TWO member and Austria is not but Belarus has a MPP with Austria. So Belarus is indirectly fighting against its ally, Slovenia. Sounds a lot like the previous few paragraphs...



My question is ‘will TWO collapse?’ Well, from what I’ve told you so far, it certainly does looks like TWO is completely divided. The two ‘sides’ of TWO appear to be highly polarised as they are currently fighting each other (and Belarus as well). This is true! However, it might not be quite as bad as it seems as there are some good things going on within TWO to boost relations. Sorry that this article is long and has loads of images but I’d like to begin talking about some of these other points now.



Recently, the eUK has turned its attention to Scandinavia and has taken regions in Norway and Sweden. However, Scandinavia has been divided up by Lithuanaia, Latvia and Belarus. I wrote an article about the idea of the eUK declaring war on Lithuania and Latvia in order to gain more Scandinavian regions and to obtain a much-needed deer resource bonus. However, this (along with another article) provoked a response from the eUK’s Vice-President (vCP) saying that this is not a good idea as the eUK, Lithuania and Latvia are all TWO members. However, this idea was fairly popular and it caused much discussion in all countries involved. I published the article because it was the general mood of the eUK and needed suggesting. The vCP saying ‘no’ to this was a sign of support for Lithuania and Latvia and helped to strengthen their relations with the eUK, I believe.



The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has published a series of articles aimed at confirming and reinforcing positive relations with several TWO allies. You can see a list of some of them here. This was a kind act of support and it really strengthened TWO’s sense of brotherhood.

See? I told you it’s not all negative. Now, how does this all fit together?



Summary: Hungary and Spain are both having a lot of wars recently so TWO support needs to be split between Spanish and Hungarian wars. This causes competition for support. As well as this, TWO is currently divided into two ‘sides’ who are indirectly fighting against one another through the war between Spain and Portugal. Belarus is also indirectly fighting against TWO through the war between Slovenia and Austria. This has split TWO down the middle and caused an increase in tension. On the other hand, the eUK has shown support for its allies in Lithuania/Latvia and Poland has been praising many of its closest TWO allies in an attempt to strengthen its positive relations with them.

Conclusion: Countless alliances in the past have collapsed when some of its members had a disagreement with other members, leading to a war breaking out between them. Now, TWO does not currently have any direct wars between its members so there is still hope that things can be sorted out and peace restored. However, there is a very real possibility that TWO could collapse and a smaller alliance could be created out of the destruction. Only time will tell what the outcome will be but, if Portugal is going to get into a long-term war with Spain, then all TWO and pro-TWO countries must replace their MPP with Portugal with a MPP with Spain. That is the only way that this can be quickly forgiven and forgotten about. If they do not do this, it is more likely that TWO will break apart.

TL😃R version: Will TWO collapse? Unless quick action is taken, then yes, TWO will almost certainly collapse.

Now, there is a BONUS part below. It’s going a little further than what this article is about so I will try to keep it short! 😉



So, what might happen if TWO does split apart (in a big fiery explosion like the one I pictured above)?

Well, the division in TWO is between Spanish-supporting sides and Hungarian-supporting sides. So that means a couple of things:

-> Spanish side: Brazil (ex-CoT), India (pro-TWO), Taiwan, Slovakia, Venezuela

-> Potential Spanish allies: Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Australia, Belarus (due to clashes with Slovenia)

-> Portuguese side: Argentina, Colombia, Romania, Turkey, Uruguay, Hungary (due to tension with Spain)

-> Potential Portuguese allies: Slovenia (due to clashes with Belarus), China (probably wish to be neutral but they are currently sharing MPPs with Portugal), Poland (due to strong friendship with Hungary), UK (due to strong friendship with Poland)

-> Countries with a tough decision: Greece (may want to be Portuguese due to strong friendship with Poland but may want to join Spain to avoid being with Turkey), Serbia (wants to be with Poland on Portuguese side but wouldn’t want to have to invade Spain)

That’s not an extensive list of members of either side - I have just based this off of the MPPs of Spain and Portugal respectively and had a look at where that took us. The strength of these two new sides would be determined largely by Serbia, Poland, Hungary, Greece and Romania (as they are very strong TWO members).

This could happen but it would probably have Spain remaining in TWO and the new opponents leaving TWO to make another alliance (could have a name like THREE or an anti-Spanish acronym but the latter seems a bit too harsh, lol 😁. This is just my idea of the future anyway.
