NEWSFLASH!!!!: Russia just attacked our fortress state of New Jersey!!
In the Russia war, Russia conquered Connecticut.
Russia then attacked Rhode Island, and with the battle ending in just 4 hours, it looks like they will take it.
Disturbing thing about yesterday is that our government has gone painfully quiet ... no word from Emerick, congress, or the eDoD. 5:00 pm EDT and we don't even have battle orders? What are they doing? I'm sure all citizens would like an update on the status of the treaty.
Desertfalcon claims that Indo and Portugal will not sign the treaty even if Russia does not.
One of my readers, slowwoo, has an interesting conspiracy theory. His thought is that PEACE intended the proposed treaty to fail all along, and they planned for Russia to refuse to sign it from the beginning. A high ranking member of the eDoD had the following to say: "Well if Russia backs out of the treaty and the rest of PEACE signs it then it'll screw Russia. They'll be the only ones fighting us. We'll just have to see how this all plays out.".
John A Kelly posted an analysis in this paper yesterday. Basically he thinks Russia wants to maximize their gain by taking the rest of New England, and Indonesia and Hungary are okay with that.
On the positive side, Canada won a resistance war in Nova Scotia.
And here is a nice article that talks about what's wrong inside PEACE and a glimmering of why Russia did not sign the treaty.
At this point, Indonesia is blocked in eUSA and I think Portugal can only attack FL and NJ. Maybe the real question is what happens when we're down to two regions. Will Russia then sign a treaty or will they attack our fortresses?

Watch for an Indo/Portugal region swap...it would allow Indo to attack us. Also, watch for a simultaneous attack on FL (or NJ) and Madrid...this would split our forces, similar to what happened with Texas and Ontario. We need to stay on our toes and be ready to make our stand in our two remaining fortress states (it's clear that's all we'll have left after the Russians finish up in New England)

It's funny.. I've never liked a slew of PEACE countries for whatever specific reasons I've had, but I have never had a huge problem with eIndonesia being our enemies.
Sure, I've been angry at them.. but almost ALL the time, the eIndonesian's honor their words. They're very admirable, in my eyes, for that.

I didn't say anything to you before, Zheng, but yesterday, there were clearly August 18th Citizen Orders. (And, of course, there are now August 19th Citizen Orders instead).
In addition, Monday night, you'll recall from my article, I hope, that there was that Congressional Q&A? It's not like the government is being completely silent.
I just kind of assumed you'd find these things on your own and stop rapping on the government.
But now, let me say, that I'm sure they're hard at work trying to work things out international relations-wise.
I sure as heck hope they're not sitting there, twiddling their thumbs, waiting for the newbie Congress members to come in and try to solve this mess, heh. 😉
@Astra Kat: The Aug 18th battle orders were issued before my first login (~7:30 AM EDT / 4:30 AM erep time), and by the time I read them the battles they referred to were to all practical purposes over. And the orders were not updated.
I was not able to participate in the Congressional Q&A. Plenty of information is out there for people who spend hours a day online, but it's harder for players who spend less than an hour. Many of us still want to know what the status of the treaty is, even a "still up in the air" would be good.
The battle orders today, however, are very clear ... STAND IN NEW JERSEY! (After all, you need to have NJ to get in congress 🙂 ).
I laughed at "conspiracy theory". I was just saying if the mechanics worked that way it would be a rather sound strategy, but it was complete conjecture on my part and I maintained that from the beginning. Perhaps I'm just taking the term "conspiracy theory" a little to strongly because it draws up images in me head of people with rather ridiculous, yet strongly held, beliefs. And I never was too sure about mine.
I took my article down either way, as it wasn't written clearly and I was receiving a lot of messages from people who understandably didn't understand what I was saying. I can say though that so far everything is going along with my "conspiracy theory". 😛
