PEACE for imperialism

First, I would like to ask you my dear reader to vote this article to international. It concerns many citizens from many countries.

Let me make one thing clear from the start. There is no good and evil, if we look at the whole picture of the new world. Every strong country at one point, when it was on the top tried to conquer other countries. Norway did, Pakistan did, Romania did, Indonesia did, Hungary did.

But I do not want to treat this article as a GOOD vs EVIL thing, that would be plain stupid. Instead I want to portrait the current situation, as I feel it is unbalanced not just from a global point of view (the power of alliances), but inside alliances. Some countries need to wake up, and get their act together.

What makes this game unbalanced right now is the fact that new countries cannot express themselves freely, and they join a certain alliance (currently PEACE) because of fear, seeking protection as otherwise they would be oppressed. And there is a silent compromise made by many governments who simply would not stand a chance against the superpowers of the game.

There are 3 type of countries inside PEACE:

I The big guns
Hungary and Indonesia. They are the puppet masters of PEACE, they make the strategical decisions, they have the biggest army. They preach the message of peace and anti-imperialism while Indonesia holds 33 territories, and Hungary 34 territories. Compared to this, Romania holds 9, Croatia 7, Poland 6, Sweden 8, and Spain holds 4 territories. So Romania, Croatia, Poland, Sweden and Spain hold the exact same territories as Hungary. But in their eyes these 5 countries are the imperialist ones. Sure...

Hungary and Indonesia decide who PEACE attacks (or who their vassal states attack). But they are eating the cake at the end (see the USA peace), while their “allies” are doing their job too.

In the end, attacking for peace is like f****g for virginity.

II The left-outs

Another type of countries inside PEACE are either long time members (like Italy) or have way more contribution inside the alliance then what they get (Russia, France).

Let's take a closer look at these countries

Italy:
Italy for me was synonymous to PEACE when I entered the game. They were loyal, they were always helping out, but nowadays they get ignored. They work hard for the PEACE, while PEACE neglected them. And they suffered due to the fact that they are members. They were PTO'ed exactly because they were PEACE members, but the excellent PEACE PTO unit failed to give them attention.

Russia:
Russia was gifted by the admins as the richest country in eRepublik. For a long time they were vassals to PEACE, and while things may have changed, the big guns still look at Russia just like a vassal.

Don't get me wrong, because of its richness, Russia was always a target for every major country in erepublik history. Norway, Romania, Indonesia or Hungary couldn't resist this beauty. None of them. But now Russia is getting stronger and stronger. They can manage on their own against any non-PEACE country I think.

But their territories (Western Siberia – the richest region) is still held by Indonesia. Why? To “protect” it. Russians could see now how much they pay for a territory – 300 gold per high region. Not 6000 gold as the Hungarians demanded from them for the Urals. Russia paid for Urals (in the form of buying up companies) the price of 20 US high regions
Russia growed into a well respected power in the world but not inside PEACE.

France
France is the superpower of tomorrow. And for PEACE big guns, France is rather a problem than a gift. But the situation in France is still not clear, so I won't comment here a lot.

III The vassal states

These are the countries that joined PEACE because of FEAR, so that they will not be robbed. Or they are still controlled directly by the big guns.

Two baltic states were PTO'ed for “protection” then after realizing their mistake (the international media was against that act), they did not rob them, but demanded from the local governments cooperation with PEACE.
Ukraine, though having a low number of natives who struggle to get organized is still heavily under the influence of Hungary.


I really look forward to the next months. I believe Russia is proud enough to not be a vassal state, and I realize French people are intelligent enough to think for themselves.

Looking at PEACE, I can't see unity nowadays. I can't see a common goal. Member countries work for the two biggest powers. And this is the difference between PEACE and EDEN. While EDEN might be less powerful, EDEN is a team, EDEN is formed by friends,by countries who share a common goal. I once used my best weapons in the fight for Croatia, and helped Croatian players as hard as I could after they were PTO'ed. I even sent messages to my voters (I was running for congress back then), to vote in Croatia, not for me. Because we are in it as a team.
