[MoFA] Updates and Position

Day 2,275, 06:22 Published in Canada Canada by klop123
Good Morning,

A lot has happened since the start of the term on February 6th. We’ve made some new friends, lost some old ones and have made some new enemies as well.

New & Old Friends:

Towards the end of last month, following the Spolish attack on Canada, we started meeting with some countries around the world. Among them we forged some friendships with Slovenia, Romania and Serbia. While our neighbours down south do not approve of this, we chose to defend our homeland and stand by this decision.

Even though we did sign some new MPPs and extend our friendship beyond the usual circle, we have retained our old friendships with China, Ireland, France, Portugal, Russia and Asgard. We hope to be able to work together with most, if not all of these countries if given the opportunity.

Alliance Situation:

Now on to a slightly more delicate matter, alliances. As you all know by now there are two main, feasible options, Asteria or the Spolish alliance. Until recently, we were considering both sides, but once the USA proposed us as a NE, we have decided to send feelers out for a NAP between all our countries and better relations. If that does not work we will pursue the pro-Serbia bloc option to the fullest extent. EDIT: We will be pursuing the pro Serbia bloc. We will be aiming to open and continue talks with nations such as Greece, Argentina and Hungary, while maintaining relations with Serbia and Slovenia. Making new friends and forming bonds is not easy and will not happen overnight, so we ask you be patient. We will not rush in attempt to save ourselves, but we will do our best to see it works out. MPPs are not alliances, we are not there yet.

A relevent Germark article can be found here

Spain/Polan😛

Prior to the third NE on Canada, we were occupied by Spain and Poland for attacking the UK. It seems that as told by many, including Iain Keers, they were rather indifferent to occupying Canada and were soon considering leaving. He even mentioned that the two countries would be open to us joining their side, as some of our old allies already had.

While Poland continues to drop RWs (thanks to external influences), Spain is a different story. While they had originally intended to leave as well, the Romanian airstrike on them with x2 determination (a sure wipe) and the Portuguese resistance, they needed an escape plan. With only one region remaining in Canada, we quickly organized a RW in attempt to rid them from North America. That is when they approached us with a meeting. Several things were discussed at this meeting and it seems our relationship was improving as both sides can agree it was a friendly meeting. That of course had no bearing on the subsequent RW in Saskatchewan, which was a hard fought loss and the USA NE. At this point Canada no longer considers Spain the enemy.

USA:

On to the most interesting and perhaps controversial topic of the day, the USA NE. Once our most trusted ally and bro, it seems the relationship has reached the end of the line. It’s no secret that our relationship has not been what is was during the time of Emerick, way back when together, our proud nations stormed in and set free countries from the pink menace, side by side, battle by battle. It never really reached the point of all out war, barring Evry and the Miracle at Manitoba, until now. Here is Wildowl’s article describing the reasoning for war with us. As most can read in disbelief, it seems as though a few comments warranted a war. Sure we had signed with Serbia and Slovenia, USA signed with Spain and Poland. Hardly reasoning to go to war with a country on it’s way to being wiped anyways.

We’re also the topic of discussion in ElPatoDiablo/Derphoof’s article, found here. Despite the leaking of many confidential Canadian congress discussions, which we do not approve of, the article attacks Canadian diplomacy and has many inaccurate statements.

“While the USA had been trying to make relations better with Spoland and the UK, Canada has made no such attempt recently. “ This is a lie/misinformation, Canada did in fact reach out to at least one of the aforementioned countries in attempt to better relations, all while considering the Spoland alliance, as can be confirmed by Iain Keers and the Spanish government.

“They’ve engaged in reckless military and foreign policy behavior. They’ve MPP’d our worst enemies.” It appears as if Canada cannot decide her own foreign policy if it does not suit our Southern neighbours.

In summation, Canada has one thing to say to our American neighbours who fight against us:

Remember, the North does not forget.

To our allies new and old, we will not forget your help!
To those who fight with us, we are in your debt.

For Canada!
For Freedom!
