Join the new world

Dear citizens,

I received a request to write another article, mainly covering our income and expenses. What do we exactly earn? What do we spend money on? Are we gaining or losing money? I aim to give you an answer on these questions in this article.

Income
Our country earns money mainly through taxes. In a previous article, I had written that we earned approximately 246.43 BEF per day. This has improved a bit since then, and we have earned (from December 15 to January 9) about 325 BEF per day. This roughly equals 185 GOLD per month.

A second source of income is our Congress Tax. When elected, Congress Members donate the gold they get from their treasure map to NBB-BNB. Unfortunately, not all Congress Members pay this (some are just medal hunters and others not involved enough in the eBelgian Community), but I’m glad that in eBelgium about 75% of the Congress Members actually pay the amount. With an estimated return of 4.25 GOLD on treasure maps, that earns us another 95 GOLD each month.

These sources of income combined give us approximately 280 GOLD per month.

A last, but not structural, source of income are spontaneous donations of loyal citizens and income of printing money. The latter is used to stabilize the market. Currently, we are printing 20,000 BEF – costing us 100 GOLD. We sell this at 0.019 BEF, which earns us 380 GOLD. However, printing too much will render our BEF useless, and thus we can only do this to stabilize the market (not to earn money!). Additionally, the 380 GOLD will need to remain in the national treasury to be able to buy back BEF in case the rates drop too much.

Expenses
So what do we spend this income on? Well, although the amounts are really small, the balance is very healthy, and we gain money as country.

Our main costs are MPPs, to enable us to fight. Each MPP costs 100 GOLD per country, bringing the total on 200 GOLD. As we are a small country, we have to pay more than just our 100 GOLD often. Lately, we received very generous offers of USA, and we only had to pay 100 GOLD. However, it’s safe to say that MPPs costs us 150 GOLD per month.

However, that is about it. Our State Companies are self-sufficient, and can pay wages from the income they get with selling goods. Currently, our army is being set up, and will costs us money in the future, but at this moment we do not yet have a budget for it. Concluding…
All in all, we gain a little bit of money each month, just as previous CP ThomasRED described earlier in his “end of my terms” article. Based on the information above, I would estimate the (structural) gain at 130 GOLD per month. This creates a good foundation for the future, to get a little buffer to counter changes in the economic module, the international situation, and our economical climate.

In the future, I hope that we can continue this trend. Our new high resource iron should give us that extra edge that we didn’t have before. Our tight and friendly community should grant us the good atmosphere needed to govern our country in a good way. And we all together should provide eBelgium the economical good future that it deserves!
