[eBE] ThomasRed : the end of my terms


Dear fellow eBelgians citizens,

After two months of Presidency, it's time for a transfer of power at the head of our country. A new President will be elected, with his enthusiasm and his fresh ideas. Our country have evolved on many differents sectors, and i'm glad to have been able to work with some fantastic persons to get the best for eBelgium. Of course, we can always do better, but even if there have been a lot of unexpected things happening during these two terms, i'm happy to see what we have achieved successfully together.



If we want to have a look back on these two terms, the first thing we can think about in term of improvement is our military. While we had almost no structures at all, Vulcain, who have been the Minister of Defense during the all period, have set up the roots of a well-organised professional army. He will be able to retire himself, with no fears on the future of the Belgian Military. On the negative side, we can regret that we didn't succeed to get voted a monthly budget for the army but i hope that the new President and the Congress will take care of it quite fast, as it's really needed to ensure the grow of our army. In many countries, the army is the consumer n°1 on the local market and it could be a nice help for our economic situation.

On an other matter, Finances, we did also improved a lot. While we had around 500 gold two months ago, our national bank have now around 875 gold. If this increase of gold can be explained partly by the print and the sell of BEFs on the market, our MoF have also done a great work in the daily management of our assets, controlling each gold and stabilizing our monetary market with success.

Our Ministery of State Companies have not collasped under the pressure these two months, and our only active company during the last month was our grain company located in Slovakia, eBe Grain (from eBe Raw). While the company have supplied thousands of grain units on the eBelgian market, our monthly profit is estimated at ~25 gold. It's possible to run state companies efficiently and i invite the next Government to study the possibilities of re-opening some state companies.

The Ministery of Education and Culture. Ernest Bogdansson continued his dedicated work for the new citizens of our country, and with the help of the api babytool he also helped to report several multies created in eBelgium. This ministery is not the most shiny's one but it's certainly one of the most important's one. On a negative note, we could maybe regret the lack of tutorials ingame, but it's something that can be easily resolved.

The Ministery of Foreign Affairs. This is one of the most important ministery, and paradoxically, it have maybe been the one who have run with the most difficulties during these two months. And i'm personnaly accountable for it, as Foreign Affairs could be described as one of my area of choices. But Glenn Wauters and Manong Rizal have suceeded to dynamize the ambassadors sector which is now way more active than before.

The Ministery of WebArt. This ministery have been created the last month, especially for M.Leviathin. And all we can say is that he made an amazing job. He helped our government and our country to have a better image in eRepublik. We innovated by sending a image season greatings private message to all active belgians citizens, to all Presidents, to some erep admin team members, and to some of the greatest players of eRepublik. He also created an official layout for the government and President's articles, and it's something which help a lot to catch the attention of the players ingame.

The Ministery of Justice. Last but not least, as this new Ministery have already some achievements recorded. NLSP opened the road for his sucessors, and worked on differents projects : the State Secrets Act, The Government Investigations and Trial Acts, the debate on the revision of the Constitution, and the set up of the Supreme Court, which was something we waited for since months.

The Prime Minister is a function i created in my government, and i choosed MaryamQ for it. His work wasn't easy to see from the outside, but by these lines i want to thanks her for her support. The Prime Minister have acted as an liaison officer, and it proved to be very helpfull for the daily management of the government. She have been a reliable adviser.

As President, i have also tried to do my part, and i worked on several problems... I'm very happy to have been able to conclude fair deals with others countries for signing mutual protections pacts. While 3 months ago we had to pay 200 gold for an MPP, we signed a first mpp for 125 gold last month and a second one for 100 gold this month, which was my objective. I have also tried to represent eBelgium as best as i could in the two meetings Presidents had with the eRepublik admins, and i have been quite active on irc to manage ours diplomatic relations. It have been very helpfull lately when our country was under the threat of a NL invasion, or when Poland decided to attack France through Wallonia. I'm proud to have help my country to be protected successfully from any foreign harms, which required a lot of contacts and of diplomatic talks. The New World faces new challenges this month, with the birth and the deaths of some alliances. Our new President will have to be accessible and responsive to any situations, but we need to always remember who are ours real brothers. A less joyful side of my work have been to hunt multies in eBelgium, as they became a real threat to our democracy. With the help of api tools, many multies have been reported during the last months.



Finally, i would like to underline the fact that my government have always counted members from each political parties, and that despite some tentions in our community on some issues, we have always been able to work together for the best of our country, and it's something i'm very proud of !

As experienced member of our community, i have been asked to continue my work for eBelgium in a next government but i had to declined the offer. These two last months have been really tiring, in a positive way, and i do now expect my rest. Nevertheless, i will be around to provide advices on specifics questions if i'm asked to. I would like to thanks again all the citizens who have always supported me, and i ask them now to support with enthusiasm our new leader to bring him on the road to success...
