Simple matter is simple. I am campaigning for President of eIndia for the March-April, 2011 term. Not only for eIndia, but an Independent eIndia!

And to be honest, I am at a loss of words for my 'campaign'.


Contemplating Presidential campaign

Since my very first article as a newbie, freshly inducted into Azad Hind Fauz & calling out to my fellow eIndians for a Free Bengal, I have never been much at mincing my words or having any difficulty to express my thoughts and emotions.

My journey in eRepublik, now over 700+ days, has been anything but eventful. My articles have always been my strength in facing and battling many of the challenges faced by eIndia, domestic and foreign. I have had the great pleasure and honor of serving alongside many of eIndia's greats, old and new as well as friends abroad, using my paper as the basis of communication.

I have served in various positions in the eIndian Government - as Prime Minister, Internal Affairs, Foreign Affairs, National Police Force, Anti-Take-Over Task Force, Presidential Advisor & more. More than once I have been urged by many of my good friends to candidate for President, but have always avoided taking on the role and responsibility.

I am not one to hog the lime-light, in spite of my humored role of Dik Grande, and I have never claimed to be the smartest or brightest of the lot, more capable than others to lead eIndia as President.


Really, I am not a clever man

So why now?

I have always cherished a dream of an Independent eIndia - one who is not dependent on her allies to bail her out when faced with challenges, but ready to aid every friend in need; an eIndia where every citizen has a voice & a say in her progress, and the direction she takes in the eWorld; an eIndia that can stand toe to toe with the biggest and baddest of Nations, without any compromises due to our 'shortcomings'. Since Day 1 of my journey in eIndia, I have given every ounce of my energy here towards this goal - be it in interacting with newbies, in babyboom efforts or negotiating with allies and enemies on the international arena.

Most importantly I have always stressed on the need for a solid infrastructural foundation on which eIndia can stand, and be counted as a eNation to reckon with.

As my recent Foreign Affairs update & David's Report clearly points out a tremendous amount of progress has been made over the last term. In spite of having quit in early 2010, I came back to eIndia at a time when we were on the verge of being wiped. Even though I could not prevent it myself, in spite of my best efforts; I am fortunate to have been part of the tremendous effort put in to restore our freedom and get us back to a solid footing.

But much work is left to be accomplished. Our Financial reserves ave grown more than double, but we can do better. Our International relations are better than ever before, but we are yet to really forge brotherhoods with many of our allies. Our Military communes are running well and good, but not even near its potential capacity!! Our forums and IRC are active, retention & baby boom picking up steam, but we need not 10's and 100's of active Citizens, but 1000's. Our Citizens have been surviving till now, but we need to do much more than 'just survive'. We need to make a statement in the eWorld - that eIndia is here!! And each step we take, takes us further towards this cherished dream of mine - Independent eIndia!

I feel I can be your Captain in the coming days & weeks. I hope I have your support in the coming elections, and get to share this dream with the whole of eIndia. I may not be the most 'capable eIndian', but I can surely promise you I am as dedicated, hard-working & motivated as they come. I will write more on my campaign targets and planned projects later today. Feel free to suggest, highlight any aspects you feel we should focus on, or provide any other feedback.

Many in eIndia have placed their trust in me, especially over the last 3 very difficult months, when hard decisions needed to be taken. I am certain I have not let anyone down as yet. If elected, I will continue in my efforts not to do so in the coming month either.
