[MoHA] - Guide | Day 3 - Congess

Day 1,648, 05:06 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by eUK Home Office

ITS CONGRESS DAY, Yeeea - So the MoHA team has another short guide to Voting & Congress.. Enjoy

So here it is again, another 25th, another congress election and another chance for some people to get themselves 5 more gold. But what is congress? How do you get into it? And just what the heck does a congress actually do anymore? All good questions that will be answered in this Guide to Congress!

So you're in The Reformed Unity Progress Communist for Every One (TUPCEO for short) party already, what do you do next? Well you'll want to actually run I imagine. If you go to Community -> My Party and scroll down to the congress section on the 20th and before the 24th you'll see a button that says "Run for Congress" which if you click will allow you to put in a link to your manifesto. The next question is where do you run? Most parties will have a thread in their forums that will allow you to put your name on a list of congress hopefuls. Once your name is down, by the time the 23rd hits, you'll have been given a location somewhere within the United Kingdom to actually run, so be sure you've moved to the correct place before you click run!

Unfortunately that's not quite the end of it (curse you democracy). Next is a case of waiting as you and the other people running start taking votes. Sure you can vote for yourself but there's a better way for the party...

...Tactical Voting

Tactical voting is the way in which parties direct your vote telling you where to vote so that a party can maximise the percentage of congress while cutting the amount of wasted votes, for instance making sure you vote for the person who's 1-2 votes away from getting into congress rather than the guy who is 4-5 votes away. Each party will probably have their own room on IRC today so be sure to keep an eye on your parties forum so you can be sure where you have to go so that your vote isn't wasted.

What does a congressman do?

Well there's all the IG buttons that come with being a congressman. You're allowed 2 proposals (Impeach, Donate, Change taxes etc) as well as vote on them all and also accept two citizenship applications (only ones that are approved on the congressional area of the forums). But that's not all! New for this month all congress men will be required to work within a ministry so that they can help to actually improve the country.

For more details on that, be sure you subscribe to the paper and keep an eye out for the next edition.
