ARMY Reception Battalion, Day 1499, 14:18 Erepublik Time.

Today FTR Dru Blood joins the Army Times to review the story of one of the most prominent figures in Erepublik, a man who continues to be admired to this day, long after he left the game. Some who have joined Erepublik more recently may not be familiar with his story and older players may have forgotten. They should find Dru Blood's review of Harlot's eLife fascinating.

Early Life

Eugene Harlot was born in Columbus, Ohio in the dark obscure history prior to Version 1, known as the Beta Bang. He began his career as the editor and publisher of the Buckeye State News. Harlot made his fortune in the Housing Market working for Southern Housing, later he concentrated on building high quality defense systems for Goliath's and AWP and hospitals for Funke's Goodtime Family Band.

Politics

He became active in politics when he joined the eRepublicans For Change party (now the Conservative Party) and was instrumental in the first census of Ohio. Working with such prominent politicians of the time as Royamen, Citizen HEM and GoBucks, Harlot tested the political waters. Though Eugene Harlot joined with some friends to create a political party know as the Brotherhood Without Banners, he dabbled politics for a short time, but never sought office Instead he Eugene heard the baying of the Dogs of War in the New World and Eugene Harlot enlisted and became a soldier.

Army

Harlot enlisted in the Army and was assigned to the 4th Squad under the command of Daniel Canyon. His initiative, organization and dedication to the military way of life caught the attention of his superiors and Sgt. Harlot received his first command, Daniel Canyon having transferred to the Marine Corps. Sgt. Harlot invested great amounts of time and effort to mold "The Fightin' Fourth" into the model US Army squad. He received several commendations for his work, but Harlot was growing frustrated with knocking the skulls of lazy grunts and the lack of combat. He decided to follow his former squad leader to the Marine Corps. Such was Sgt. Harlot's commanding charisma and the dedication of his soldiers to him, that many followed him to the Marine Corps.

Marine Corps

Receiving a Lieutenant’s commission Harlot began his life in the Marine Corps commanding the 3rd Platoon, known as “Harlot's Leathernecks” and his reputation began to grow. When the Marine Corps expanded to Companies, 3rd platoon becoming Company B, Harlot was promoted to Colonel and taking command of Company B this unit became known for it’s exemplary organization, communication and battle-readiness. When the Marine Corps grew into Battalions, he was promoted to Brigadier General and placed in command of the 1st Battalion, “The Old Breed’. Upon the resignation of Dexter Jones, General Harlot was promoted and assumed command becoming Commandant of the Marine Corps. He worked closely with Major General qn20, as well as all the Company Commanders: Colonel Mdeusa03, Lt. General Sukoidha and Lt. General John Jay, all of whom were junior officers serving under General Harlot's in his previous commands.

Among his duties as Commandant, General Harlot directed the Marine Corps recruiting, published media for the Marine Corps Organization, the “Marine Corps Post”. He was a resource to Marines throughout the Corps, available to answer questions, offering advice and encouragement and was a dedicated soldier with combat experience in every US conflict since World War I and many resistance wars. There are many rumors passed around that General Harlot had also been involved in commanding elite American special operations forces, but this has never been confirmed, they military command remaining silent and his papers classified to this day As Commandant of the Marine Corps, General Harlot was the Joint Chiefs of Staff for the Marines Corps and assisted in much of America’s military strategy of the day. General Harlot was named Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff by President Scrabman in April of 2009. As Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Harlot was the highest ranking military officer in the US military, coordinating all joint American and Allied Forces operations, assisted with military budgeting and consulted daily with the US President on military matters.

Business Ventures

Recognizing the need for cost effective military transport, and heeding the words of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest that, "The winna is he that guts thar the furstest with the mostest", Mr. Harlot invested his entire savings to found McDonnell Douglas and develop aviation products for military application. Globemaster Transport employed military personnel with the intent of supplying moving tickets to the USA government in times of conflict. Many believe this company became the basis of all future military communes. McDonnell Douglas soon expanded into a global corporation focusing on raw materials and combat supplies. McDonnell Douglas owned and operated such diverse companies as Infinity Diamonds, Amber Waves, Hopewell Furnace and Side Arms, none of which exist today.

Legal Career

Eugene Harlot was a Presiding Judge of the United States District Court, having been appointed by Chief Justice scrabman. Later he became a Senior Judge assigned to the US Extreme Court. Ending his legal career as the Dean and Senior Professor of Law at the USA School of Law.

Election to the US Congress

Late in life, February 2010, Eugene Harlot threw his hat into the political ring for election to the American Congress for the first time in the high iron territory of Karnataka, being rented at the time by America. Harlot’s newspaper Blazing Combat quickly released a Mr. Smith Goes to Washington themed article containing Eugene’s claims to fame, qualifications, and plans. Harlot won the election, and on February 26, 2010, became the second American senator from Karnataka.

On Day 961 Blazing Combat published it’s last article, then shortly after leaving Congress, like MacArthur, Eugene Harlot just faded away. It was rumored that he became an Australian citizen, however many sightings of him in California have been claimed, but none of the sightings have been confirmed. Such charismatic leaders as Harlot and Gaius Julius are sorely missing in America today.
