{eIre MoI} A long over due update

Day 3,449, 04:39 Published in Ireland Ireland by University of Ireland

Dia Dhuit Ireland,

Firstly, I would like to say 'sorry' for a lack of updates. I am currently back at work and wifi/3g is hit an miss. So this DoI article will be a bit more in depth in regards to each department, where I can be. So lets get it started, before I get hit by a CSRF attack.

President of Ireland

Our apparent missing President Machiavelli is still working hard, all be it in the shadows. He is vocal in threads relating to DoFA work, MKD training war, discord and even congress. The DoI tracked him down for a quick interview to prove he is alive and well...

CP Mac being asked about the impeachment law

More on that impeachment law a bit later....

Department of Finance

The DoF is going gang busters in making money for eIreland. While they were releasing weekend updates, this has stopped due to RL issues (congress was informed about this), so here I will try and recap the more important aspects, before the MoF does an end of term report.

Donations: Total Donations now equal 533,457cc, this was largely due to Nogin returning the money she was holding for safe keeping after the MTO, as explained in this article here.

Org Rent: Total Org rent now equals 21,000cc, while only 5 Orgs have been rented out, 2 of them paid 2 months upfront. If your interested in an Org, please speak up.

Tax Income: Tax income currently stand at 40,405cc which equals a daily avg of 1,443cc (but if we look at the daily avg since having regions returned, it is 1,949cc). While this number doesnt include the donations, Org rent or Taxes owed by MKD (which is currently 9,875cc), we can see it is a very nice increase from the last term.

Money Markets: Only a few trades have been made on the money markets, however this limited 'day trading' has netted an extra 5,445cc. This amount has potential to grow in following terms if time is taken to continue a more robust money market trading.

A more in depth MoF article will be published at the end of the term.

Department of Defence

The DoD is still continuing to provide up to date DO's and work out the logistics of the training war. In recent times, we have seen some of our own try and end the training war before it got start, outside interference with RW's and continued local interference in battles.

However your government is committed to the training war as many of our citizens are already seeing the benefits of medals as well as the benefits of not being wiped.

Department of Foreign Affairs

The DoFA has slowed down a bit in regards to MPP's due to the upcoming CP election, however it has been active in showing it's support for our allies. This includes sending orders, weapons and resources (both financial and energy) to help our allies Australia and Egypt repeal airstrikes successfully. As well as keeping in contact with our allies elsewhere to ensure DOs are set accordingly.

In Other News

The new congress has been sworn in and threads have been started. Due to the large number of congress members, the government is running two threads. These threads are made up of a split of all congress members, bar two who were not on friends lists, as well as Party Presidents from the top 5 parties who were on the friends lists. The PP's and cabinet are in both of the threads. While some items have to remain behind closed doors, some can be discussed. These issues that have been raised already include:

Congress thread laws: Someone questioned the need for 'keeping a civil tongue' style of laws/rules. These rules included No insults, No belittling, Keeping the thread to government matters and relevant, as well as confidentiality on some topics. While these rules might seem understandable by the majority, they did raise some questions.

Irish Army as a National MU: The question of the Irish Army no longer being the national MU came up. The removal of a national army came up last term and the congress members decided against the need for it. This was reflected in the change to the 'welcome message' (seen here), as well as the IA's own leader saying it was not following government orders (seen here in the comments section).

TW article: Someone asked where the TW article was. While we can see #fakenews claiming it is deleted, it is in fact still where it was all the time, which is here and an update here.

Impeachment Law: A call for impeachment was made by one congress member. While voting is on going, it has already failed to get the required 66% of the needed votes. While this might seem unneeded to some, it is something that is enabled by the return to democracy. Like we saw last term when an impeachment vote was launched as well. Having these laws proposed show that the congress and government system is working. While this time there is no accusations of conspiracy, it is good to see members exercising their voting privileges.

That is that for a wrap of congress. We will try and inform the public of different congress discussions, as long as they dont effect the security of the nation, which we hope you will understand. However when the time comes, these items will also be brought to the public's attention.

Your Government Team.
