Hi Kids!

Thedillpickl is not amused. Recent changes to the Econ Mod have raised several issues. To avoid rewriting much of what is going on I'd like to suggest that you look at two articles about the issue. The first is from Teucer in his article, "Unified Inventory, Pros and Cons". The second, written by PigInZen, has a lot of info, "Unified Inventory, Productivity Formula Changes".

Do We Call The Exterminator?

I saw something this morning that may be nothing. If it was a glitch, it is possibly minor and of no concern. If it is broken code in the new Econ Mod, Admins need to address it. If it is a new "feature" to mix up the 'stale' products with lower priced (dumped) products, this could be a big deal. I'm not sure if it would be good or bad.

A Big Fat Intentional Bug

This is going to be a problem. Currently we have been given unlimited storage. However, on day 1250 that ends. The way I read it, you get to buy extra storage for anything in you inventory over 1000 units or you loose it.

If you do not own a company, this is a great deal. If you own only one RM (Raw Materials) company and unload your stock every day, still no deal. If you own a finished product company and have employees, it's a big deal. My q1 food needs at least 5,000-6,000 units of grain a day, my q2 food takes almost twice that. All totaled, I need at least 20,000 units of storage (if I don't screw up) to supply my workers and store product until I can release it for sale. This is compounded if weapons or MT's are stockpiled for fighting.

Plato said how good this would be for companies, because they wouldn't loose workers for lack of RM's to work with or $$$ to be paid (more about that in a minute). If I have to pay gold to have enough storage I may be better off firing everybody and not needing the storage.

Dollars But No $ense

I have a problem with all the money and gold in one place. True it saves time moving cash around through the MM (Money Market). (Admit it, you know what I'm talking about.) But if you have more than one or two companies it will be a pain. If I looked at the Manage Employee page of a company, the activity/productivity/wages of the employees gave a good idea of how much RM and cash had to be there to keep everything running. Now I can use Google Spread Sheet, over stock RM & over bank cash or just guess and expect mistakes. But this was supposed to help me keep from loosing employees due to lack of RM's or money to pay them. Oops!

Do we really want all our money in one place?

One Last Less Nit To Pick

What the heck does Plato have against Google Chrome? Do Admins think that because they like Mozzila Fire Fox, everyone must use it? This is pure fail in my book. If the browser game that has a "Loyalty Program" (for those who purchase gold), do not respect my loyalty for Chrome, I call foul. (If you are unaware, currently a GM can't sell products while using Chrome. Fire Fox seems to work OK.)

Problem is gone now. Chrome worked fine for me this morning. Thanks Admins, I suppose. Just kinda seems to me you would have checked the major browsers before you released this change.

Well, So Much For Poking The Sleeping Bear

I have no idea if this article will be pulled or otherwise edited. Really, I don't care if they do. It will give me one more reason to not care what happens in eRep. I have finally admitted to myself that the stress is not worth the effect it has on my real life. I will deal with the parts of the game I find enjoyable. The only reason I put up with this bull is my employees. Not the ones that won't answer a PM or will work at 17%. I'm talking about the ones that ask for help starting their own companies (God help 'em) or want to fight against Indonesia (and I supply 'em) or want to start a newspaper (Like I would know how to do that?). I could work as GM, by myself and fight all I want to, but what's the fun in that?

I've said my piece. What do you think?
