BiH in Danger while Canada Mounts Counteroffensive, Day 1115

Day 1,115, 11:21 Published in USA USA by Lieutenant Scheisskopf

Ongoing tensions between Phoenix and EDEN states constantly seem to find new battlegrounds, as eBosnia and Herzegovina (eBiH) and eCanada have garnered international focus while the fighting in Spain and Australia have seemed to take less priority. Diplomatic ripples from the eUSA-eBrazilian alliance continue to be seen in South Africa, as well, where traditional rivals are now working towards a common end.

Serbia Attacks Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia Intervenes
After a declaration of war was passed easily by eSerbia against eBosnia and Herzegovina (eBiH) on Day 1112, the eSerbian military launched an offensive at 18:42 on Brcko District, which was easily conquered. Additional incursions on East Srpska Republic and West Srpska Republic were also successful, and the final remaining eBiH region, Federation of BiH, was targeted late in Day 1114. Tiny eBiH is in danger of being wiped off the map, but two obstacles are arising to attempt and stop the Phoenix power. First, an eBiH-backed resistance force has been active in all the conquered regions, although unsuccessful and largely ineffective thus far. Second, neighboring eCroatia has attempted to intervene by attacking the eSerbian-occupied Brcko District just before server reset on Day 1114; however, while this attack has favored the EDEN side in its early stages, it is highly unlikely that Brcko District could be conquered and then returned to eBiH through a quick resistance war (RW), if eSerbia did win the ongoing battle for Federation of BiH. It is quite possible under this scenario that eBiH will be entirely conquered, but only for a short time.

Day 1114 (left) gave more ground to the eUSA and eIreland, though nothing has been done on Day 1115 (right), now that the dust has settled from the previous day

USA Reenters Ireland
Shortly after being removed from Ireland, the eUSA attempted to reenter the island with its attack against eUK-occupied Shannon on Day 1112 at 18:04, and continued by attacking the Southeast of Ireland during the 17:00 hour of Day 1114. The eUK has been hard-pressed to resist the eUSA attacks as well as eIrish-started RWs for Cork & Kerry and other regions; this is indicative in seeing that the eUK has lost its last three struggles against the eUS and eIreland, and that eIreland is now expanding beyond its previous sole holding of Dublin, which survived the eUK’s string of victories that led to the first removal of the eUSA and eCanada from Europe earlier this week. Although no action has taken place here on Day 1115, it is quite likely that eIreland and the eUSA will continue their efforts to push the eUK off Ireland in the coming days.

The eCanadians have reversed eFrance’s gains in Quebec, while
also fighting off an eUK attempt to reenter North America

Canada Launches Counterattack
eFrance’s advance into Canada was blocked after the battle for Ontario at 08:37 on Day 1112, was blocked by the eCanadians with significant support from their allies. The eCanadians then attempted to roll back eFrance and the eUK in a combination of RWs and conventional strikes, with a RW for eUK-occupied Newfoundland and Labrador successfully wresting control of the region from the eUK; however, a subsequent RW for Nova Scotia was put down by eFrance, suggesting that different tactics may be needed. This gave way to the Day 1113 strike on Quebec at 17:04, a battle heavily contested by both sides for its strategic location as a chokepoint to the rest of Canada. Twenty-four hours elapsed in the fight and it remained an active battlefield; however, eCanadian forces successfully overran the region after the 14th phase of the fight, which was followed by the attack against New Brunswick at 07:30 on Day 1115. Between eCanada’s recent progress and its ability to thwart a renewed eUK effort to take control of Newfoundland and Labrador, it seems that eCanada may be able to regain possession of its country and remove the Phoenix powers from North America. Time will tell how this front progresses.

eBrazil’s flag would traditionally not be welcomed in eSouth Africa, but the South American state is helping eSA to remove a hostile government from power

Brazil Advances in South Africa with South African Support
Tensions between eBrazil and eSouth Africa resumed on Day 1112 at 19:08 as eBrazil attacked the Northern Cape and brought back memories of many previous battles fought here. The flavor of this latest combat is different, however, since eSA is cooperating with the eBrazilians, to attempt to remove the eHungarian-friendly political takeover (PTO) government. Consequently, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, and Gauteng have all witnessed eSA citizens fighting for the attacker to remove the PTO government and conquer all the native eSA regions. The recent eUS-eBrazil alliance is certainly intriguing here, as eSouth Africa’s traditional adversary is now acting as a protectorate of the country and helping the eSA people regain control of its country.

What’s Next
The focus on eCanada’s struggles in North America underscore some tensions within EDEN, as it took an attack on eCanada’s capital before other EDEN states actively fought on its behalf. Phoenix powers such as eSerbia and eHungary, who recently conquered eRomania’s Maramures region, have been able to capitalize on the divided enemy, even though the alliance as a whole has made some concessions once more to the eUSA in Ireland. Overall, this suggests greater parity between the alliances now; neither Phoenix nor EDEN can reliably dominate every front now, which is a good thing for the game as a whole.

God Bless America,
