(RR#3) Trial of the Century, and an Arrogance Rant
Myung Kei
It has been a while since I have written a formal article such as this, but seeing as how things are so interesting atm, I thought it would be great to revive this. Ready? Okay!
The Headlines: #Court Returns!
About a year or so ago I decided to set up a fake courtroom and hold mock trials, because honestly, who doesn't like the "Lulz" that ensues. This fake courtroom, known on the IRC as #court, was thus constructed. Over the course of its existence, the #Court has heard numerous trials concerning Witchcraft, eAssasination, Bronying, eExtortion, and Child Custody. As always we try to keep it both serious and silly at the same time.
We also conduct eMarriages, I've done one before.
The People of eJapan (Mii) v.s. Koragi
It was the trial of the century, where citizen Koragi was accused of blatant CAPSLOCK use in the IRC. Arguing the case for the state of eJapan was Prosecutor Mii, coming fully prepared with evidence showing Koragi had indeed, used capslock 30 minutes before the trial. Representing the accused was BobbySauron, a state appointed lawyer who mustered a brilliant last minute defense through excellent cross-examinations and counter-evidence. Our star witness (and unfortunately for this trial, only witness) was Hizaya, allegedly at the scene of the crime. Yours truly oversaw the proceedings as the Judge. After several minutes of deliberation, the jury (anonymous eCitizens), was unable to reach a unanimous verdict. Thus, as the Judge I had to declare a mistrial, and we may never have a trial like it again.
Okay, Okay! If you want to start an "eTrial" simply log onto the IRC, join #nippon, accuse someone of doing something (with their consent ofc), and we can hold a trial in #court! This section is dismissed!
Election Bonanza!
Good luck out there to the election front runners: Oraizan and Akki! Akki, current Party President of the ULJ and Vice President of eJapan, is one of eJapan's oldest citizens and a world class hermit. Akki, with amazing troll powers, can disarm most ranting people in a matter of seconds. His article is here. Oraizan, current Party President of the SoS Brigade and is eJapan's CoT representative, is a Swedish Canadian lol. Oraizan has been known to hold a various string of lovers, most notably Tohru; BobbySauron has claimed her affection for a long time. Her article is here. Though the ISP is supporting Oraizan this election, I would like to wish both candidates, Oraizan and Akki, good luck!
Sorry Hizaya . . .
World Events: EDEN on the ropes?
Not according to the Greek Government. EDEN, one of the oldest super alliance in eRepublik, has been rumored to be limping along for months now. With the entente between the CoT and TWO it looked as if EDEN was both outnumbered and outmatched in terms of military strength. And to some, the alliances' recent defeats have been an acknowledgement of such a rumor.
EDEN HQ gives three reasons why they are still alive:
1. EDEN has befriended many "Tanks" and Private MU's
2. Alliance swapping is a growing trend
3. Damage by EDEN countries has become focused on select battles, rather than spreading forces across fronts
I remember EDEN back in the day, being the coolest thing since sliced bread and Parker Bros. Let's see if this alliance will continue being that way.
eUSA and Ajay: ...Again...
Speaking of Presidential Elections happening Tomorrow/Today (depending on when you read this), there is also an interesting race just across the Pacific Pond, as shown here. For perhaps the umpteenth million time eRepublik's favorite character, Ajay Bruno, now patriotically known as Ronald Gipper Reagan, shall be running for eUSA president.
Now, why is RGR, or Pizza the Hut, or Ajay Bruno as he is known, such a fascinating character. Well, do you know what October 18th is in eRepublik? If you answered "a few days after Empress Day," you would be right. But it is also Banhammer Day, the day this individual was suspended for administering multiple accounts in 2009. Since then, through reincarnation after reincarnation, Ajay never stops to amuse and infuriate the eUSA community. My fellow monopoly lover Ligtreb so eloquently describes these sentiments.
Good Luck to the eUSA, they will need it.
My Opinion: Arrogance v.s. Humility, or Who Really Supports "Unity"?
This is the part where I rant after something or someone really gets on my nerves, and where I jump from judicious to viscous. Ladies, cover your screens, everyone hide the children.
Okay, so it goes along these lines: This month, eJapan will be electing a new president to replace KP, who has put in his two terms as president. It all comes down to Akki, who is supported by the ULJ plus the DNP, and Oraizan, who is supported by the SSG/SoS/ISP alliance. While Akki has the advantage being supported by the top two parties, an electoral upset is unheard of. Again, though my party supports Oraizan, Akki has served as president multiple times before and would continue making great contributing to eJapan. Most notably, I agree with Akki that the current immigration law is broken and should be redesigned to make more sense. This has nothing to do with him.
However, while going to comment in Oraizan's article I noticed a certain individual posted this:
This particular person sent me over the edge, and I have several problems with this.
First off, who gave this person the god given right to tell people what "Unity" is and who represents unity? The only person in eHistory who held even a shred of such authority was Kokawa, and even in this context he steered very clear of the political realm. I am tired of this person acting as if he is the lord on high, commanding us simple serfs and peasants what we should and should not think. I am sick and tired of this person acting like an insufferable know it all who thinks they are so invaluable to eJapan that we must obey them. I'm tired of this person running away from criticism and taking cheap shots from afar.
They may control a large party.
They may have a lot of eMoney.
They may run a large MU.
But all of this is meaningless without the right attitude.
You know what eJapan really needs? A bit of humility.
In contrast to this person, I think Zodiarque represents the citizen eJapan should have. The kind of person who will do amazing work, like Zodi does with the forums and graphics, but always do it with honesty and dignity (okay, so he posts yaoi...still). Or people like Kitsune Usureki, who take up very time consuming ministries but do not demand credit for the hard work they do. Or maybe just someone like Akki, someone who can deliver smack-downs whenever needed, but willing to take the criticism.
Secondly, let's briefly talk about Sakurakai. We all know that this top 5 party is controlled by a recently immigrated Serbian group, and that is pretty much all we know. Vepar22 seems to be the only person connected with this Serbian group who will talk with eJapanese citizens on the forums (I don't know his IRC name). The problem is not that we are xenophobic, but we don't know what this group's intentions are. I think most people in eJapan would love to talk to whoever is in Sakuraki, but we just don't see these players active on the forums or IRC: two critical parts of the eJapanese community.
Speaking of which, who has shunned the forums and IRC? You guessed it: this person once again. The DNP has only recently started being active on the forums at the urging of some party members.
So can Sakurakai be part of a "Unity" movement? At this point in time, such an assertion is laughable.
Lastly, who has been at the center of almost every single political controversy over the past few months? This person.
Remember when eJapan did not have a bank? This person was at the heart of eJapan having its' banks banned, twice.
Remember the "Cash for Citizenships" controversy? Where immigrants were asked for a down payment of up to 30 gold (10000 JPY) to get a citizenship pass? This person was at the heart of it.
Remember past media articles which revealed other little schemes, like one time food/weapon donations to join the their party? This person pitched fits unworthy of a toddler, and even sent messages de-frending people for their acts of journalism.
In fact, this person seems to be running counter to everything the eJapanese community has been trying to create over the past few months. With a heavy handed tactic of selecting people only they support, this person has been trying to manipulate the government for their own benefit, not for eJapan's. Far from promoting unity, this person has instigated disunity in the country to the point where it is about to fall apart.
This is, again, not a rant against this person's party; and there are various people in leadership positions of that party whom I respect and find pleasures to work with. I think it is a shame that the image of the most powerful political party in eJapan is being tarnished by this person.
You know what would go a long way towards creating Unity? If the DNP dumped their party leader.

Also, I don't claim to be her lover, I know I am.
Didn't read it yet, but voted due to awesomeness.
It is indeed true that Unity will probably never be achieved no matter what, but removing THAT person atleast takes a step in the right direction.
It is THIS person that should stop hitting his little sister.
Monopoly people are the best people.
Skimmed it, but Myung Kei is prolly right~
Also Monopoly is p cool, but Scrabble is better~
Great article (The court does sound indeed like an humoro...*cough* necessary establishment.). +v
(Just have a bone to pick with the last part though);
unity
1. the state of being one; oneness.
2. a whole or totality as combining all its parts into one.
3. the state or fact of being united or combined into one, as of the parts of a whole; unification.
4. absence of diversity; unvaried or uniform character.
5. oneness of mind, feeling, etc., as among a number of persons; concord, harmony, or agreement.
I would go as far as saying that eJapan cannot be in 'unity' by definition because the citizens are not irl Japanese (ie. there is no common ground / lowest common denominator of social norms)
In history, 'unity' has always been achieved by purging unwanted radical elements, ie. by 'eliminating' them. That is not possible in eRepublik so... we are neighbours, not friends, nor comrades.
Perhaps there are some neighbours you really like and then there is the noisy crowd playing music at 3am in the morning which you have to call noise control to deal with.
The only real thing ~all~ our citizens really share in common is a disposition to playing browser games.
So what I was trying to say... No offence to anyone but regardless of the intentions, both sides are just as incongruous as the other in their use of the word "unity".
Great point h idenshi!
You are definitely right to point out that in the real world we have to get along with people we don't nessecarily agree with, and I can completely relate to your "neighbor playing music at 3am" scenario because I live with it constantly. At some level we all have to agree to disagree and accept that our differences are just a part of our human nature.
My primary point is that while we all play this game, we need to show some respect and dignity towards other people, particularly when we talk about ourselves or act towards others. At the very least, we need to accept or just listen to other people's criticisms' people we may vastly differ on.
Voted, suscribed and 100% agree on the serious part of the article.
"Everyone hide the children!"
🙂
My only issue with Akki is that he seems to have befriended and continues to support THAT PERSON.
Ban THAT PERSON from governmental positions is a first step. He is the "prime evil" of eJapan's division.
LOL too much Diablo III
VOTED!
an Informative article, voted and subscribed.
Myung>> Yes, of course. Was not condoning 'that persons' actions. In any case.... of relevance; 和をもって尊しとす。
Very good and interesting article, but after all, the greatest part is just another rabbling of bullsh!t about Geezus... Ooops, I said His name 😮""" Meaningles blablah... After the high quality of the first part, I am really disappointed because of the second one.
The people who have trust in the our side will not betray it just because of another article. For who do you wrote the last part? To irritate and peeve the ISP/SSG/SoS alliance? They already agreed to disagree with us. So what is the goal? To proselytize and convert citizens? The DNP and the ULJ has a coalition for a reason. By the way, I don't see the your problem with the comments of Geezus, they are just facts... and the one you mentioned in your article is a suggestion, and a reasonable one.
Instead of whining and scolding, have not you considered to make some action? If you earned the anger of my Party President, but you still want to communicate with my party, then feel free to write your letter to me. ^w^ I do have the outmost trust of Geezus, and I have time to answer whatever question you ask or comment you make. I really had enough of this meaningless subject, so I think my proposal could solve this interial problem.
Facts and Geezus dont go together. Sakurakai is by definition PTO (so Oraizan is right to say so) and he never called DNP criminals (meaning Geezus lied). Some people in the ULJ are not in love with Geezus as you are kitsune, he doesnt have the support rom the entire ULJ. I actually go to the IRC so I know what people think. People try to communicate with the DNP, but it is very hard when many of their members dont follow laws they made and dont come to IRC... We had a very friendly election until Geezus came and sai😛
We will impeach Oraizan no matter what he does and refuse to work with him! So much for attempting unity!
My IRC name is also Vepar22 o7
Usu is butthurt.
BIG F*****ING DEAL.
you guys really does speak english instead of japanese, cool. i visited eChina and they only speaks chinese, here in eJapan would tourists as me at least could comunicate wich is good. Long live Empire of the Rising sun and Kingdom og eNorway
Yo Usu, BS is what Geezer droped in Oraizan's article, now go to cry to him instead of trying to make him look like someone worth respect because he's not and with it all you get is everyone thinking you're stupid.
Im popular, cause i went to court and won. 😃

Geezer...you do realize that a good chunk of this article you just voted for is complaining about your behavior right?
Yes, voted again.

(Why argue about obvious lies? I'm not so professional in lies than you. I have no chance)
My real foults that I don't accepted your "state" MU system (You want all money to IJA/IMA) and I refused to take a part in the ATO attempt against Sakurakai (You think serbians are PTOers).
the Serbians are PTOers.
I started Sakurakai party, but they never request my support. They never request anyone support. They never talked.
The Serbians use Serbia's flag and symbol. Sometimes only very tiny Japanese flag. most in foreign country's MU. They believe Japan is a colony??? It's not right.
Most of the current parties used an old party at the beginning. I really sorry about old Cherry Blossom members, But who wants to pay for parties founding if they can simply take one?
I belive their intent are decent and we need their power to save ourself!
As Cherry Blossom members wants an own party again, I will the first who will give money for that!
But I'm still against ATO teams and still belive we should open our borders and build a new strong eJapan!
I give credit where credit is due, the man has courage to comment on my article. I'm genuinely impressed.
Though I must say, "why argue about obvious lies" does not refute the facts. Facts which have been clearly put forth over and over.
As to some people's question as to why I decided to write my opinion column, it is not meant to "stir up the base" or "make people switch sides," I am just calling it as I see it. And as I call it I hope other people share my opinion, what they conclude is completely out of my power.
The cliche that I should act rather than complain is unfortunately, misguided. There is nothing in my power to act upon.
Only facts, of course:
"this person has been trying to manipulate the government for their own benefit, not for eJapan's."
What kind of benefit i made for myself? Nothing.
But I made 2M JPY income for this contry under Darshu cabinet when I was MoF. Not for myself.
Let's look at the statistic you provide:
Sure, you made 2M JPY of income for the country, great! But it all meaningless without a bank to put it in. Somehow, quite mysteriously, you managed to get 2 banks banned and all that money with it.
According to the admins that 2M JPY isn't exactly "clean money".
The bank was empty when it was banned.
I made the money a half year before and it was 100% legal! We get no penalty because of this business!
But all the remaining money were spend during Nowe term.
Hizaya had 20k when he was CP.
Any of the bank perm bank was not my foult!
We get "only" a 3 days temp ban because of my monetary activity (i still don't know why is it bad).
I never tried to avoid responsibility about that. After that I don't made anything unusuall as MoF!
The first bank was banned because DEN007 transferred money to the bank - he were also perm banned so I think there were maybe some real misstake, maybe multi.
The second bank were banned because of the "donation action" I think. More Japanese citizens donated the new bank and there was some fake gold. I can't prove anything because admins refuse to answer, but after the term bank which made my 50k loss I made only the inescapable transactions.
I have described that fact several times, but you still do not take into account. And try to show me as a criminal.
This clearly shows me your enemy intent into my direction.
