I'm running for Congress in California this month, looking for my 12th term.

Yes, I'm old.



Despite my old age, I served as the Speaker of the House for most of this Congressional term. I encourage all of you who are interested to check out what Congress has been up to.

This game has given Congress an extremely large amount of power. Congress rarely needs to use all of its powers, but needs people in there who know what they're doing and have energy in case Congress is needed.

Because of California's large population, our election will likely not be close, I'll either win or lose by a wide margin. If you want your vote to make a difference, find a candidate you like in a smaller state and vote for him or her. Our congress works like the real-life senate in that each state's congressman gets one vote, I get no more power winning by 100 votes as I would winning by 1.

If you prefer to stay in California, I would appreciate your vote.



There are tons of great candidates running all around the country, but I wanted to highlight a couple:

scrabman

scrabman was one of my mentors early on in this game and one of my biggest influences as a newb. He's a former USA President from a long time ago and the one who gave me my first big role in this game (Welcoming Committee). I'm glad he's returning to politics.

Lieutenant Scheisskopf

I've always been a fan of people who have established themselves in a different part of the game running for Congress. Lieutenant Scheisskopf has one of the best newspapers in the country and has been a prominent member of the military throughout his career. I'm glad he's running for Congress for the first time.

Erepublik Betting Service (EBS)

Harrison Richardson announced the latest new project he HobbitTon, Chris Shnitzel and Joe Newton have been working on and I'm very excited about it.

I, like I know many of you are, am a huge sports fan in real life. I'd bet more in RL if it was legal and I wasn't so cheap/smart/scared of losing money. But betting virtual money, why not?

Final thoughts

I'd like to thank the Federalists for endorsing me even without me asking. They were my home while the USWP was dead, I still hang out with them and know the Feds are an amazing party.
