For the next 8 days I am the opposition.

Day 1,681, 10:50 Published in Ireland Ireland by Big Sexy Black Man

Thank you to everybody who voted for me in the region of Cork. I went up against a lot of big names and I can say that I am fortunate to have been elected. I would also like to thank the Irish Progression Party for endorsing me. In this article I'd like to take a quick look at why I was elected and what I intend to do.

Why was I elected?

Revising my last article (found here) I am quite positive that I was elected to be the prominent and professional leader of the opposition. I believe this because during the previous three Congressional elections I was quite adrift from being elected into the Congress (and they were during ICA terms, to which I am very for) however, after criticizing WHS' failure to capitalize on a possible NE against Spain I was propelled into Congress. I think this reflects a slight adjustment in the opinions of some citizens that are asking for a little added pressure for WHS that will, hopefully, tweak the outcome of his term.

WHS' term has seen little opposition which has handicapped the country

So now that I see myself as the opposition what will I pursue?
Three things.
1)More activity from the WHS administration which has been strongly inactive since the 5th. His last CP update was, to my standard, very poor and disappointing. Nobody outside the ICA has won the CP elections since November 2011 (Bhane was the last citizen too and he did a great job) so I was expecting some ambitious and adventurous policies by WHS.
2) Encourage excitement. I'm not going to fire an impeachment against WHS for no reason but I am going to encourage & back policies that will liven up the month. A great chance to NE Spain has, sadly, gone amiss which is tragic seen as how there is(was) a large call for war within the community.
3) Forums. Last but not least I would like to push WHS' administration on the one difference between his manifesto and Ethels and that was the referendum on recreating a national forum.

"A lot of people seem to have an issue with our National Forum and expressing a preference for Marcus's or the older Kolshire version.
It is the intention of this Government to hold a referendum giving choices and letting the people decide which forum will, once and for all, truly become our National Forum.

I can hold my own hand up and say that I am part to blame for the dissolution of Kolshires forums. This is a great idea and, imo, is something that should definitely be prioritized. I openly offer my own assistance to any such projects at reestablishing a national forum and I hope to see an update on this regard soon.

Once again thank you all so very much for electing Dan "The Man" Breen into Cork. I look forward to an exciting 30 day term in the Dail.
