[eUK CP] A quick update...

Day 2,135, 10:48 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by 10 Downing Street

The Irish situation…

Hello eUK and I hope you’re all well!

Well it’s been a week since I last wrote an article so I thought I would just pop out a quick update to inform you of what has been going on behind the scenes, particularly where eIreland are concerned.

The happy wee Irish laddies…

Now as you may or may not have heard the Irish CP, Ian E Coleman, and myself have been in discussions over keeping the peace between our two nations. After much talk, back and forth, a vote was called in Congress to simply re-sign the NAP we had previously.

This potential treaty, which can be viewed here, would have returned Cork to the Irish and held the peace until the end of my term in office.

The vote was passed in our Congress, but unfortunately our Irish counterparts could not agree and there was a clear split between them.

The Irish Dáil in deep discussion…

Therefore we remain in a precarious state where tensions run high and the fragile peace between us is broken every few days by a resistance war, which if not always begun by Irish citizens is clearly supported by a faction within the country.

I hope that we can maintain the status quo for now, but I fear more RWs will follow. Looking on the bright side, if I may, this does allow us to gain True Patriot medals, but at the same time does deplete our national defence shield.

Those crazy Irish, always wantng to have a barney…

Congress elections…

In other news it is of course time to elect a new group of happy chappies to inhabit the House of Commons for another month. The Congress elections are always a hard fought battle and I’m not going to favour any side in this article, but I simply urge you to vote!

For all the children...someone please think of the children!

And finally…

I’ve been very pleased to see a number of new citizens having a go and writing articles for our media. It’s vital we encourage people to take part in the community of the eUK and to see some new faces appearing is absolutely spiffing.

Let’s not do this, eh?

I thought I would celebrate their efforts here:

Tialys Cypress

Forkks

Peter Foxford

If you know of any more new citizens of the eUK who are getting involved in our media, send me a PM and I will add them to this list.
