Zhou San's Response to Sailosha's Article

Day 943, 06:27 Published in China China by Zhou San

In response to Sailosha's article HERE

I must say that I am surprised to see her article.

Thanks for the support everyone 🙂. I read many very kind words that made my day but also a few hurtful words. I also saw 2 things in the comments that are not true:
1) I did not have 0 attendance in Congress until the Congress at the time changed forums and never told me where the new one was! 😉
2) I am not an eForeigner...I am eChinese! 🙂 I am a RL foreigner though.

When I was in Congress, I was not the only RL foreign congressman in eChina. Together, we petitioned for RL Chinese to help us by translating more things because we were told that our input in eChina was valuable. Serving in Congress was so much fun and was such a great honour. Most people were so friendly and helpful but I must admit that Congress was sometimes English unfriendly.

Although RL China does not recognize English as an official language, it is almost treated as one. How many other countries require you to learn an unofficial language before you can graduate from college or even before you can get into a good college?

I am just saying that we should not be shunning English. I make an effort by studying Chinese (although I still suck) and I am sure many RL Chinese here can speak some English. Some will be great at it while others will be bad and of course some will have no knowledge. But, in today's world, the more languages we know, the better we are: for business, communication or even just for chatting on eRepublik.

Being a Congressman is not required for me to help eChina or to be happy. I wouldn't say no but I am also happy to serve eChina in my own ways and I will continue to do so forever! No matter what happens, I will always be here with you and for you 🙂

Without even realizing it, I feel that I have found my newest purpose: to bring better communication into eChina. While I am not bilingual (yet), I hope I can be a catalyst and motivate the bilingual population of eChina to translate more. I will write about this in my next article.

Finally remember that NOT all RL foreigners you see in RL China are jerks, losers or just looking for girls. And NOT all English speakers in eChina are PTOers. Of course some are though but every culture and group can have bad people.

Anyways, I love you eChina!
Vote to support bilingualism in eChina and the inclusion of all players.
