What we do

Day 670, 08:10 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by The Ministry of Work

The department for work (DfW for short) does many things which will be explained further on, it is run by the Minister for work Craig Rossiter who was appointed for the first time soon after Glados election victory.

Skill 0 employment

A skill 0 worker will not make any money due to the fact that they do not produce anything. Because of this the market can not be expected nor relied upon to provide the all important first job. The department curently has 4 Q1 companies open across 2 orgs. Theses are Royal Housing and Royal Timber in the Department for Work and The official weapons and ticket companies in the Ministry of defence org.

Watching the Jobs Market

At the department for work it is ou job to make sure there is no shortages in any of the 3 skills (Manufacturing, Land and Constructions)
Some of the skills are given priority over others - Manu > Land > Cons. Manufacturing is first since it is our biggest industry followed by land then finally constructions.

Public Service

Somtimes there are people with malicious intent towards out economy. This is notable with King Food and the UKNP companies. When situations like this arise we work with the Ministry of Home Affairs to alert new citizens to the dangers of such companies.
We also assist in monitering the tax rates of the country.

Cheap Housing

We sell the house we produce in Royal Housing in open auctions on the forums where the price is usually half that of the market price. Sign up to the forums here.

That pretty much sums up the department, thanks for reading. You should also read and subscribe to the following papers:
