The War in the Balkans and Asia

Quod erat demonstandum: Romania is declaring war on Turkey.

Taking a look at Turkey's MPPs reveals that this is quite a challenging ambition. Currently the Turks possess MPPs with all of PHOENIX's powerhouses: Hungary, Indonesia, Russia, Iran, Brazil, Serbia, and the United Kingdom. While Romania's army is certainly one of the strongest in the entire eWorld and despite the overwhelming defence of the enemy it's not entirely impossible that it might actually be able to secure a few regions. Nonetheless, it would be an extremely optimistic move to take on all of these countries at once without any sort of distraction.

But wait, was there not another region most precious to PHOENIX? That's right, the war between USA and Japan is still open, and I would be utterly surprised if the United States did not launch a second attack on Kyushu overlapping Romania's offence. Canada is already keeping some of the American regions occupied by the British, most likely with the intent of protecting the states from being blocked by the latter, supporting my theory. I must say this is a clever little setup, and could lead to EDEN's victory.

None of the two battles can be called a distraction, as both are of vital strategic importance and it would cripple PHOENIX severely if either were to succeed. While this is apparent for Kyushu which would enable the USA to try and conquer Liaoning and Heilongjiang, marching through Turkey could serve as a launchpad for further incursions into Iran, be it to distract their forces so a resistance war in Liaoning could succeed, or simply to reach Heilongjiang whose possession is one of Romania's national goals, directly.

Romania and the USA are EDEN's strongest members. Trying to fend off both of them at once is a gargantuan task for PHOENIX, especially considering their failure to protect Bulgaria and the ridiculously close result of the Kyushu battle. While it might be too early to predict the outcome of this war, I'm not unconvinced that EDEN might emerge victoriously from it. Let's hope China and India will also benefit from this, instead of merely becoming occupied by someone else.

This could also be a great opportunity for countries like France, the United Netherlands or India to finally free themselves from their oppressors, since these will probably be preoccupied in their alliances' campaigns.
