The power of democracy in erepublik
Gooffree
Well, if you ever read our forum (sign up quickly if you haven't, as there are only a few free spots left: https://ecanada.cc/forums/index.php ), you could see people talking about Constitution, about laws, about budget, about Supreme Court. We're debating on economical issues, even though we don't have any tools to see exactly how tax changes affect economy.
We have doctrines, we have right - center - left and some other stuff.
But with the upcoming changes in the Congress Elections, one thing comes to my mind, do we players ever get a say in this so called simulator?
When I first learned about politics, I thought it was about debating and democracy - "majority's dictatorship".
While this new system may have its ups, I strongly consider that the downs weight heavier. I won't start a debate on that because it's useless, the makers know what's best for us.
Gooffree,

I like the "Probably the last Congressman of Saskatchewan." Nice Title!
And you hit it right on the nose.. but be wary, the admins see all!
This way politics are much more realistic. This is how it's done in RL.
maybe on your continent but not ours!
screamingslave, as far as I know you are wrong.
Quebec, Louisiana in USA, Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica,
Panama, are on your continent too and in their countries this is how politics is done.
From an European point of view, the party-list proportional representation with a threshold is the best solution, but we all know that Canada in RL has a different voting system, and this doesn't seem traditional to the Canadian values.
The game would've been much more entertaining if the Congress could have a special law that would decide the type of election: first past the post or party-list proportional representation.
^ that
I don't like it, admins are not thinking of the little guy
Wouldn't it make more since if our political system was decided by the player controlled government? No? Okay, i'll shut up.
Democracy? What's that....(sarcasm)
