Spam Updates & TRS Congress Announcement!

Day 5,647, 03:46 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

Updates

I'd like to start this article of Spupdates by reiterating what various commentators in our feed and media have said - the CP election that took place on the 5th was the most exciting election the eUK has seen in a long while! I was in Spamchat just before midnight when the vote equalised, and there was a great buzz amongst those of us who were watching the results come in. It came down to only three votes in the end, which is the smallest margin since 2019. 2019! Not only that but it was the highest turnout in a CP race since 2020. (Source)

So no one can deny ePolitics is alive and kicking! The Real Spamicans are so grateful for the support recieved and we will be working very hard to convince our non-voters to back us in the future.

These quick stats also show that having a strong party running strong candidates to guarantee competition is increasing engagement in epolitics. That has been a key objective of TRS over the past four months and we are very pleased to see it working. We know this makes the eUK a more interesting place for all of us - new players, old players and returning players. We know there are detractors out there who have openly criticised TRS for being activity orientated and wanting an active Congress but we in Spam HQ definitely feel vindicated as turnout rises and margins shrink. Thank you for making us feel that way and endorsing our approach!

We hope that some of the more reluctant personalities in the other parties will begin to engage constructively with us and get behind AMD and Huey's joint proposed activity program which passed Congress this weekend also with record turnout. I told you the wind of change smells like spam!

Congress Announcement

Now to the next elections!

On the 15th all eUK'ers in a party will be asked to vote for their party presidents. TRS likes to make it fun by having double-digit candidates so keep an eye out for that. You never know, it might be Fataliix's month (do I dare repeat the huge king-size bet I placed on him last month?). Obviously if you want to experience the melting-pot of active and convivial fun of TRS first hand, join! we are now the eUK's SECOND largest party, and gunning for top spot. Help us achieve it!

Following that on the 25th is Congress elections. TRS has recieved the most votes in a Congress election for two consecutive months and we are looking to make it a third. We are also putting our money where our mouth is and can announce that ... (at least) the Top two slots in our Congress list will be reserved for any TRS Members who haven't been in Congress before, if ofc they want to run! Our doors are open for any new players to join us and take advantage of this offer (after all, it is still Spamnesty). It is vital that we encourage our new players and support them in taking an active role in the eUK. That is the best way to retain new players and so the best way for the eUK to grow. All we need now is several younger players to come take advantage of it!

If you are new, Congress-hungry and reading this... join TRS. We have mentors, policy groups, fun(!) and will support you're involvement in the eUK!

There is an empty seat waiting for you!
