Some Presidential Updates

Day 909, 18:39 Published in Ireland Ireland by patton

Alot of things have been happening in the past few days so I wanted to make sure everybody is up to speed on what were doing.

Military

With the World War seemingly slowing down we have decided to restart the Sol Wargames. We had the money and we wanted to make sure Ireland had its fill of battles.

Ministry of Finance

Ministers Moomoohead and Nogin developed a wonderful finance report that has really set a model for the future. It was a wish of mine and the Finance Ministry to make all of our spending transparent and I was happy to see it put together so fast.

After reviewing the finance report I did decided to make some changes. Previously the state hospital company was giving market rate wages and donating Q5 food to its workers. That coupled with the cost of wood raised the price of operating the hospital company to unsustainable levels. To adjust the budget we have lowered wages back to a pittance and have eliminated the donations. The hospital company is for volunteers not for full time workers. In addition to all of that Ireland does not have any pressing need for more hospitals.

Ministry of Industry

No doubt yall have read the story of gross mismanagement of the state industries. My administration took swift action to find the problems and correct the situation. All the problems highlighted in the article have been fixed and Nogin the Nog has been put in charge to keep the state companies on track.

Foreign Affairs

Making friends is one of the most important things a country can do in erepublik. This past week Santiago Hortez(MoFA) and I have been talking with the Belgian government to engender good relations between our two countries. The British have recently been making threats about a possible invasion of Belgium and while we know the British no longer have the manhood to press the button we feel it is necessary to join in solidarity with the Belgians. If in the exceedingly rare chance they are attacked Ireland will devote every resource to defeating the redcoat and helping our new friends.

In other news, our Bro Japan has started offensive operations against the country of South Korea. Since Brolliance is a defensive organization we are not bound to participate and we will not be helping in anyway. I personally believe Ireland should help smaller nations like ourselves, not conquer them.
