Over 70% of the impeachment votes were in my favour, while for the election my support was somewhere around 48%. I've gained support since the beginning of the term! \o/\o/\o/
Well ok, I realize that's not how those numbers should be interpreted, but I am still very grateful that congress had the professionalism to vote down an illegal and groundless impeachment. Say that the impeachment was based on the CND theft if you want, but anyone who knows PimpDollaz will know it has nothing to do with anything besides misguided political opportunism.

I don't know whether it's because he didn't make it into the Writers' Guild, or because I didn't pardon him for possessing stolen money, or because he doesn't like panther eyes, but PimpDollaz has always had a palpable hatred for me. I don't really care to find out why, nor to put any effort into trying to get him to like me; he is the one eCanadian citizen I can live without the support of. He hinted in an article comment (before I was even elected) that he was going to try and impeach me, so I wasn't surprised in the least. In fact, I'm glad that it's over with. The impeachment was a feeble attempt by Pimp to try and remove me from power to overcome his apparent insecurity regarding his political impotence. Now he is being roundly criticized by his own party for darkening the stain on the CPF's reputation. Of course, this motion had nothing to do with the CPF and everything to do with the ill-conceived illusions of grandeur of one of its rogue members. The CPF does not deserve to have this type of reputation.
Several citizens have pointed out that I now have one week of impeachment immunity where I can do whatever I please. Rest assured that I will not be pulling a "HankScorp", and I will continue to govern in the same manner that I would have prior to the vote.
Additionally, there have been murmurs that I need to be more transparent following the CND theft. This greatly confuses me - the way everyone found out about it was through me. If owning up to the theft and fully explicating the situation before anyone outside cabinet knew about it isn't being transparent, I don't really know what to say. Sometimes it seems as though people will grab any buzzword they can and use it to attack the current administration. So be it; such is the life of a CP.
As for the investigation into the theft, things are going well. I have complete confidence that the person responsible will be caught; if not, I would be extremely disappointed. Investigations by myself, members of the Ministry of Defense, and of course eCanadian intelligence are all probing the issue. We're just as, if not more, angry about this than our citizens, and we'll be doing everything in our power to make sure this weasle is brought to justice.
In conclusion, I'd like to thank congress for voting down the impeachment at a ratio of almost 3 to 1. I'd also like to thank the eCanadian Citizens for their patience as we conduct our investigations during a frustrating time for all of us.

they voted it down because pimp did not follow congressional procedure as i understand. Not to say they wouldn't have voted it down anyway.

Rainer - I've returned the mentor program, increased funding to the Canadian Health Services, negotiated an offer from France to close the war for 150g (which was voted down by congress), have worked on a treaty which would have massive implications on our power in V2 (which I can't reveal until a later date due to its nature, unless of course it falls through), I began a congressional updates to the public program which has had its first release, I was the first president in half a year to change the password to every government organization, and I've been completely open and transparent about the security breach that happened despite having a brand new password and email. I realize I haven't conquered Hungary and handed out Reuben sandwiches to every single citizen yet, but maybe you can cut me some slack? It hasn't even been 9 days yet.

For a situation like this, I can completely understand the eCanadian public demanding continuous communication.
It's pretty hard not to admit that the guns were stolen when you also need to tell everyone not to buy them. We don't just need to hear that mistakes were made, we need transparence about what's being done to fix them. That's what we're demaning... no cops and robbers stories.. but direction. You are our Prime Minister after all.

Since the public can demand continuous communication now... and actually get it, what's going on with that 2.6k gold? Is anything happening there? I'm uber curious .__.
Sarah - we're waiting for former Prime Minister Fram to return. He was the only person who ever had access to the org. He might have lost both the email and password, in which case we have to rely completely on our opened tickets with the admins.
As for the investigation, if I were to tell you everything that was happening with it, it would kind of take the point away. But I understand the frustration, and it seems like we aren't doing anything. But trust me, WE ARE!

I guess it is necessary to keep certain details out of sight. Cross my fingers that we find out who is responsible, though judging from past situations like this, it is not likely.

Dade, good to hear those things, I think this article should have been about the positive things you've been up to since election rather than this article which basically reads "why pimpdollaz sucks and why i'm more popular than evar! and didn't get impeached"

Sorry I'm late for the troll convention that these comments have turned into. Glad to see almost everyone else made it here on time.
As a side note to Dade: Once you're elected CP you no longer have a "personal" paper. Everything you write can and will be interpreted by the general populous as a statement from on high. While this one didn't really push any boundaries you may want to be careful in the future.

Can't we act like adults, well no, can't we act with some professional courtesy, I dunno. Politics in this game should be idealized, people saying this is the opposite of how my government is run in Canada because this is how I want it to be run. You guys are behaving like the professional cronies in Ottawa. Last time I checked eRepublik didn't pay anyone's actual salaries to be in government. IT'S a GAME. Stop stealing, stop bickering. Is there something I don't get about why everyone acts like their own shit doesn't stink, is it because no one sees anyone face to face that accountability is thrown out the window?!?!
