Poland allies with Hungary – Leaked files reveal plans for a new World.

Day 1,144, 16:23 Published in USA USA by Sossu

The saga of Europe’s foreign policy changes continues, with the end nowhere near. After the demise of Phoenix, all the big players of Europe began to draw plans to form new alliances either on the ruins of the old ones or create something completely new. The internal quarrels of nations, the disarray after new governments are formed as Presidential elections were held and the cunning attempts to manipulate the political climate of friends and enemies alike have created a media craze unseen in a very long time.

Even the restrictive regulations of the administrative team can’t stop the flow of opinions and agendas flying from the pressing machines. I advise everyone who wants to get up to date information about the New Deal – the reshuffling of nations in to new camps – to read the European media and translate articles that look interesting or have gotten many votes. The information that can be found there will help you stay on the map, and the spam squads raging on the comment sections shouting “FAIL (insert country name here)” or “HAIL (insert country name here)” are especially amusing. But be wary of what you read, not even half of the rumors that are flying around are true, maybe not even this article has even a seed of truth in it. 😉 Always form an own, unique opinion of anything you bump on and read, to avoid noticing later that you’ve been just a tool and a faceless part of the bandwagon.

Before I get to the European soap opera, I want to write down some words about how some players take a stand on this game, taking it too seriously and afterwards, quite frankly, ending up looking just foolish. eRepublik is a game and even in a political-social simulator, the tiniest flick of humor should always be involved. After all, this is still the Internet. Not real life. We’re all in our comfy bedrooms with a nice cup of coffee on our tables, being a part of an imaginary world for a limited period of time each day. We don’t have to watch our backs or get our families out of the country in order to continue fighting for the just cause.

Also, this game is constantly changing. We have to adapt to it. The leaders of the past are no longer among us, so we have to step up and take control ourselves. Our countries rise and fall and we have to act accordingly, planning and preparing for a new rise when we have been hit to the ground and live the high life when we are strong enough to do so. The game mechanics of today can’t sustain a bipolar and an exciting world at the same time. It will just revert to boring, cyclical struggles for lost honour and forgotten friendships.

The group I’d like to point out in particular is the active commentators of Croatia. Croatia was the wonder child of Eden, always harassed by her bigger neighbors. Even after Eden grew to be the true offensive alliance, it always felt particularly good to fight on the defenses of Croatia and keep her safe from the evil, dark, oppressive, abysmal, menacing forces of Mord… Serbia and Hungary. Every soldier got an inch more to their dicks after acquiring the highgrounds of Slavonia and NWC in addition to the moral highground as well. Today, an active part of the Croatian people has signed up for the sacred mission of voicing their dissent on the Hungarian-Polish MPP in every possible article in the form of dozens of generic, furious comments.

Croatia wants to play the game eRepublik was a year ago. Well newsflash to you, it’s completely different today. The old power balance is a relic of the world where the attacks on Croatia were an undisputed highlight of the month. The conflict between Serbia and Croatia decayed to be a mere border clash where a single region would change hands for two days at maximum. Serbia managed to make a concerted effort on Croatia and escape out of their reach, behind Slovenia. During this conflict however, Serbia stayed far from Slavonia, which used to be reminiscent to Holy Land during V1. Croatia was merely a stepping stone to Western Europe, and an offer of peace was later offered which Croatia promptly rejected. Serbia has understood the new nature of the game and tries to entertain her citizens with new challenges. Meanwhile, Croatia clings to old power structures and is effectively playing herself in to a geopolitical void with no friends or enemies, with no power to alter the history of the game. I’ll discuss the odd path to this situation later in this article.

The basic argument of the Croatian agitators is the concept of honor and dignity. They don’t want to descend to the same level as Poland, who are effectively betraying, like, everyone with their recent alliance with Hungary. This discussion is a direct continuum of the battle between those who think RL is a factor in eRepublik and those who think RL should be left to the corridor before entering, a topic I discussed earlier. The battle between the opportunists and those who think eternal friendships are the most important thing in eRepublik is also important, and as of today, the majority of the Croatian people, or at least the loudest one, has taken the latter stance. They might however find themselves alone in the changing world, where other nations put retention and upholding an enjoyable environment for the players more important than ancient friendships. I have nothing against players who think the other way. Whatever floats your boat and makes your game enjoyable is fine to me. However, I find such fundamentalism and one-mindedness somewhat irritating at least, even a bit of creepy.

Poland and Hungary cement their friendship – Cromania to emerge as counter-force?

The expected MPP-proposal between Hungary and Poland was given to their respective congresses on day 1143 and ignited an even more expected wave of resistance in Croatia and Romania. Poland has been struggling between establishing a new foreign policy and keeping old friends still attached to them. Also the political elite was caught thinking ahead of the electorate in a IRC-log where Cerber, the godfather of Poland, is talking with his Serbian counterpart, Clueless. Poland doesn’t want to turn their back to Croatia completely, as can be seen in the log where Cerber asks Serbia to leave Croatia alone, claiming that the wellbeing of Croatia is the only and final reason Poland has stuck with Eden for so long. Croatia’s vocalists have made their voices heard throughout the day, labeling Poland as traitorous and deceptive and hailing in the name of the union of Croatia and Romania.

One could wonder if the high Croatian standards of sacrifice and loyalty don’t include their now-best friend Romania, as the main reason Serbia pummeled trough their regions was the peace treaty of Romania and Serbia. The reasoning of the treaty was that Romania could concentrate on Hungary, but the attacks on Hungary since the peace between Serbia have all failed miserably. Romania was also tasked of clearing Hungary from Ukraine, however they didn’t wage a single direct attack on Hungary’s Ukrainian territories, allowing them to harvest resources they don’t have on their original regions to this day. Cerber tried to bring the Croatian people back to their senses, but the propaganda backfired when Bogdan_L released a more excessive set of logs where Cerber is seen planning with Serbia. The log shows however that Bogdan_L was positive of the increased pressure Serbia would put on Croatia after the peace, and this is seen as some sort of betrayal by almost everyone else but Croatia.

Once Hungary and Poland organize their lines, they will be looking for an enemy. An imminent target that is accessible to both is Romania. Before this day comes, Croatia must choose, whose side they are on, and most importantly, what will be the ideology they will base their decisions as a nation on. Bulgaria and Ukraine are either being attacked or occupied by close friends of Hungary, and these two nations might seek protection from Romania. The outlines of Europe dividing in to two alliances are being drawn.

But now, at this point in our story that along comes a spider.

Next up: A Polish-Serbian MPP? – What will Serbia do with their new freedom?

Bogdan_L😒 successful counterstrike on Cerber in the struggle of who can leak more controversial logs has lead to questions about Serbia’s future. Serbia has finally broken free of the Balkan cage they were tied to by Croatia. After breaking to Western Europe, Serbia will surely watch closely the evolvement of the Pol-Hun friendship. If Serbia joins and completes the dynamic duo to a titanic trio, this game will finally turn interesting. Serbia has no grave antipathies towards Romania, and as they have seemed to have gotten over Croatia, they can turn Western Europe in to a playground. A short-term goal would be to get all 5 weapon resources. Two they have already, two can be found from Italy, but the fifth resource, rubber, can only be found from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Regions we border.

Serbia en route to Aquitaine?

Frost administration published a doctrine that aims to improve relations with France. France succumbed to Poland and gave the other of their rubber regions for free. If Serbia captures the adjacent region, PANAM is looking at their first real military threat, two more or less hostile superpowers right next to U.S Eastern Coast. If we are ought to bond tighter with France, the possible attack from Serbia must be retaliated. The situation is even juicier when we remember the good relationship between Serbia and Brazil. If Brazil chickens out and leaves PANAM, we are left alone to defend the main barrier between the superpowers of Europe and us, or even better, our own original regions.

Now here is a thought for you. If Poland aligns with nations traditionally hostile to us and Romania falls faster than expected, the European alliance would be looking for new challenges, right? Something starry and striped, perhaps? Well, if that’s the case then wouldn’t the four Polish bases inside us, giving access to 22 of our states, California amongst them, be a threat to us then?

That has enough to talk about for a whole new article. 🙂
