People of eSweden: "No to eNetherlands in Asgard"

In a recent (yet unofficial) poll, the people of eSweden had the chance to speak their mind about the matter of letting eNL in as a trial member into the Asgard alliance. With about 2 hours before the closing of the voting booths, the result stands at:
15 for
19 against
Unless people are waiting until the few final minutes, the people of eSweden seems to be fairly against giving the eNetherlands a trial membership in the alliance.
Most of the nay-sayers are defending their position with statements like this:
- eSweden doesn't want to get on ePolands bad side by accepting their natural enemy which is eNetherlands.
- Many of the member countries in the alliance are as permawiped as eNetherlands and are unable to help them to regain their land when the need rises.
- Asgard will not endure by expanding without control.
There's also the typical eSwedish left wing statements that says no to imperialistic alliances.
The debate leading up to, as well as events during the poll has sparked a bit of a controversy: An eNorwegian PMing eSwedish citizens, linking only Pro-NL articles and telling them to "make [their] vote count".

The eSwedish CP, Alfons Haschberg, was also accused for waiting till the very last day before the congress elections before announcing that discussions had been made with eNL. And with eSweden in total eLatvian and eLithuanian control at the time, a Swedish congress wasn't to be expected. In that way, the alliance treaty states that the decision of the country lies in the hands of the CP.
Alfons quickly responded that he shouldn't vote against his own people, so a national poll were to be expected.
The eSwedish people has yet to see an official poll. But the unofficial one, started by eSwedish citizen Veritas Aequitas, now shows that eNetherlands yet again has to deal with a Swedish 'no' when it comes to a trial membership. Last time were last month, when the then-existing congress voted against with the numbers: 3 for – 7 against – 1 blank

I have just about had it with Asgard HQ and especially Norway. Akashaton is happy when eSweden lost congress, so that eNL gets a chance to sneak in through a presidential decision. When Canada wanted to leave Asgard, we did not pressure them in any way, this is unheard of and outageous. Get off our backs already!
I dont think Akashaton in was happy for that.
BTW, Norway respect eSwedens decision no matter what it is. Anyway i think pressure in this case is counterproductive.
This is not a question where Asgard is split. It's a question where Sweden is split.
It seems to me that the only thing left uniting Asgard is the wish to force eSweden to accept eNL. I think the time is ripe to start discussing leaving Asgar😛

As I already stated in my article few days ago, it simply is not acceptable that one side pushes voters to vote on certain option. No effing way.
Pressuring voters is a disgrace to democracy and is always condemnable and wrong, I hope that you would finally realise this.If the people of Sweden don't want a certain thing, that certain thing won't happen. Simple.

I Agree. Pressure is counterproductive.
The majority of Asgard wants NL to be member. Even in Sweden there is very much support for NL membership. We hope you can see the big picture and that Asgard cannot survive if you reject NL again.
The final result from the poll I set up was 20 against and 18 for a Dutch membership in Asgard. I have to put emphases on that this was in no way an official poll. It served two purposes to me:
1. Try out the system with an in-game article voting system.
2. Out of curiosity find out what people thought about the matter.

How come Asgard can't survive without NL ? It's more like Asgard can't survive because the rest of the countries are trying to force Sweden to change its opinion which doesn't sound fair.

Nobody needs Asgard, it's just yet another imperialist alliance that was bound to backfire and implode. We were all just waiting for the, not so unpredictable, event that some nationalist loon rang the bells for (yet another) crusade to conquer the world (because we're the x0rzBest3st country. etc... vikings, Odin and that crap).
What everybody needs is a new anti-imperialist liberation alliance that will rise from the ashes of megalomania: the "Internationale". The Netherlands, like all other countries, are free to join it.
