Oh lawdy I been here two years

Day 1,452, 23:55 Published in USA USA by Blank Keating

The last time I did a year celebration, I was celebrating where I was going. This year, I'm looking at where I've been. I've been up and down some rocky hills in all arenas of politics, been a secretary in half of the departments, and even been President and SG. And for the last couple months, I've been coasting, holding onto what I could, just in case I could muster up the same activity I used to. Unfortunately, I can't, and While it's fun doing no work and getting resume lines and all, it's not really fair to the young'uns who want to steal this old man's positions from his cold, dead hands.

I keep fighting but that last one won't scratch off.

With that in mind, I announce a full retirement from all positions I hold, including Eternal Secretary of Education. Just as my foremothers did before me, I place my full trust and secondary support into my apprentice black wizard's endeavors to revitalize and renew the department. He shows promise, and I expect you people to subscribe to the paper and make sure he gets plenty of votes.

I am also making a unilateral retreat from all IRC channels but 4 (until the secret ones of those four start kicking me out). Three of those four are American. Two of those three are well-known. One of those two is public: #fedpartychat. So that's where you can spam me at.

"99.9% of Canada is crazy, 0.1% of Canada is Sperry" was a close second to these.

Last year, I had a handful of people who were pushing me up and confiding in me. I thanked them all profusely. Now, I have far too many people to thank and mention. It is worth noting that it's just about impossible to get as far up the chain as I have without pissing someone off, so if you wound up on the wrong side of me, I'm sorry about that.

Truth is, I love you bastards. Each and every one. If I had it my way, we'd be like, the cast of Cheers. Chillin' every day. Except we'd be a way bigger cast. And there would be a lot of extras that just kind of stood around and voted randomly in elections. And now before this random, rambling, list-making, sentence-starting-with-a-conjunctioning narrative loses the interest of everyone, I bid thee adieu.

Quitting would be a misnomer, but I'm stepping back. I might come back in a year. Or a month. Or a week. Who cares? It's mah birthday.

Until next time,
