MOMC Update and Some Changes
Suvajit
My esteemed colleague Arawnlives has already launched a part of new MOMC initiative in the form of State Press Agency (SPA). Click here for more information on SPA. I am here to announce a few changes in the existing MOMC Competition.
Instead of 6 Q6 weapons, the winners of MOMC competition, from now on wins 60 Q5 Food every time. Since this competition is meant to encourage new and budding players to write more and more articles we believe that the Food will help them in their growth in the game more and hence the change. With the current setup, a new player who writes a quality article can receive 1500 wellness everyday which is enough for him to keep fighting in different battles throughout the day; thus ranking up as well as getting the Mercenary Medal easily.
We are also launching a new weekly competition. In this competition every week two winners will be chosen based on the highest number of quality articles written by them within that week. The prize is 1000 INR for each. So the equation is very simple. Write as many quality articles as you can and you get 1000 INR every week along with Q5 foods.
Along with all the existing conditions that are already in place for the MOMC competition there is one more stipulation that has been adde
😛
• No Political articles will be considered for any of the MOMC competition award.
Prominence will be given to all new writers while considering winners and until and unless they write some plagiarized and troll article, they are pretty much assured to win.
🙂
But that doesn’t mean that we are going to ignore the golden oldies and their pearls of wisdom. There is no limitation to the number of winners in the MOMC competition ( except the weekly competition ) and there can be as many winners as article writers. So get your thinking cap on and start writing those brilliant piece of literature and surely a gift is getting delivered to your address.
Due to these minor alterations that were being implemented there has been a temporary break in the announcement of winners and delivering their prizes and I am sorry for that. But let me assure that all the writers will receive their due prizes in the next few days.
Signing Off

"No Political articles will be considered for any of the MOMC competition award."
Why not? We need to encourage newbies to get involved in politics otherwise it will be the same boring people talking repeatedly. This is very counter productive.
@Exibot: Politics is a very controversial topic, I guess you will agree with that. An article can be a troll article or a good one. And it can change from person to person...
Yes, politics is controversial. But it comprises of the vast majority of articles - there's not much else you can write about other than wars and troll articles.
"No Political articles will be considered for any of the MOMC competition award."
Why not? +1
See, the point is almost everyone knows there is not much to write about, at-least the new guys don't know what to write about(you should probably confer with your partner and get to know of his grievances as a budding author, first - to get some insight into this issue)...if u want to call a vote upon this decision in media(comments section), please go for it than just impose a rule like a dictator because some guy "probably" thinks the topic is not cool enough for his liking or is paranoid about the fact that political awareness among the folks could make to a major dent in his vote bank or eIndia will tear itself apart! While politica propaganda articles have been ignored so far(you can check the past logs, if available)...atleast unbiased articles looking to spread awareness like the ones below should be rewarded. - http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-momc-list-of-candidates-contesting-in-the-jan-congress-elections-all-parties--1952650/1/20
- http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-momc-presidential-elections-1962887/1/20
We have RT, NDA to supply food to the new guys. Now why this Kolaveri based on an assumption that all the writers in eIndia are new(because the objective of momc was just to encourage media in eIndia...not just the new writers) or is it that you took it for granted that the relatively experienced who usually value weapons more than food would not be bothered ? Should not you be giving options to the writers, if you are looking to alter the status quo ? - perhaps INR instead of food or weapons and a little advice asking them to build saltpeter mines ?
This is a god-damned war-game where media module has always been ignored(by admins and players alike)...and this step from the momc dept, as I can assure will not help much to a country like ours. If you choose to maintain silence over this issue, well then, it's you who opted for the coming storm...
o7
"alter the status quo" -> media was rocking past term(daily weapons dispatch), if i may say so...
guess only controversial articles should get MOMC award as that is only thing which makes eIndian media active. Suvajit should get MOMC award for this articles.
/me thinks that sometimes the content of articles in India dont make no difference to some as the same 2-3 trolls will seek to attack based on who is the original poster only
Seriously Exibot and troj4n20 if you can't understand what he wrote dont comment at all IMO, I have no idea what has gone on between the Government in regards to these changes but use a bit of common sense and its not too hard to see....
The guys clearly are trying to avoid any media mud-slinging and I dont think they said that you can't write political articles I believe they are saying that articles wrote with political subject matter will not be considered for the MOMC award, this is clearly an attempt to get people to write about other subjects and to avoid any internal arguements from flairing up but I guess that is beyond your understanding as Suvajit posted the article so it doesn't matter what he said really to you guys does it, you will attack him regardless.
If you cant think of what other subjects to write about ask please feel free to ask me I will be more than happy to give you some content 😉
@King, you have a point, but Suvajit is the last person I would expect trying to avoid conflict, so forgive us if we think his motives may be different.
Alector, whilst it is certainly true that Suvajit is not afraid to mix his words this article has been posted as far as I know from the Government and in no way does it apply Suvajit is seeking an arguement in anyway shape or kind nor has he said anything remotly controversial enough to receive the replies he has got from his usual counterparts.
The guy has simply said that any articles posted under the subject of Politics will not be considered for the prize award, he hasnt said people can not post any politics articles nor has he said no one can have a political voice like is being contrived by the two trolls, all they have done is taken his words mixed them into their own minds and relayed them in a different meaning to was posted to turn his article into a troll fest.
Normally I wouldnt say anything but Ive taken an active interest in whats happening here for the last few weeks and its the same 3 to 4 people who wish to cause conflict but what Ive noticed is that these guys are smart and do it in a clever way which has made them look the innocent party but I am on to them and I for one wish they would simply leave India (and yes that means me as well) and let the Country develop in a peaceful manner instead of playing these ridiculous mind games.
Yeah, and let me comment that trojan is right on one count - it is unfair for neutral political articles which do not criticise anyone to be blocked from prizes. The recent media boom has been based upon those neutral articles, as well as economic articles.
My advice to the government would be restriction in moderation concerning political articles, not complete restriction.
It is a valid criticism by trojan, King. He's also right about the food prizes - the government is making an assumption that only noobs will go for them. The MoMC is meant to encourage media throughout eIndia, not just from noobs but from old guys. Food is no incentive for veterans.
Alector, granted the point you raise me be right that is not for me to decide and in truth is not my issue, the problems stem from the way and wording in which is used towards Suvajit, he is clearly attacking him unjustly in this case and his comments can no way be interpreted as constructive critism as his points get lost in his clear attack on Suvajit
" If u want to call a vote upon this decision in media(comments section), please go for it than just impose a rule like a dictator because some guy "probably" thinks the topic is not cool enough for his liking or is paranoid about the fact that political awareness among the folks could make to a major dent in his vote bank "
" If you choose to maintain silence over this issue, well then, it's you who opted for the coming storm... "
If you dont see what I mean its cool, but troj could have achieved alot more by posting his ideas and leaving it open to debate as his points are no doubt valid but again they become lost underneath the aggression towards someone who he clearly doesnt like and clearly is happy to attack at any given opportunity.
I see. Well, I hope my comment portrayed the problem to Suvajit without any insults.
Please find the clarifications below:
"The No Politics" Rule- One of the major objectives of the MOMC competition is to encourage new players into starting their writing career in the Media and it is generally accepted by the majority that most political articles are controversial. Since most new players doesn't have holistic idea about the eIndian political scenario , their views and ideas are primarily influenced by their mentors. Hence most of these political articles are mostly written in some particular party based directions and this normally leads to the new players being targeted and hounded by one party or the other. Unlike old, senior players who can stand ground on their own, this normally might lead to demoralization of the young players and the ultimate unfortunate event of the newbies leaving the game. A notable example in this regard will be Persian Princess who was hounded out of the game for her political articles. Another notable example can be An Indian whose first article was again similarly targeted which ultimately lead to the premature death of his writing career if not his erepublik life. The Government's endeavor should be to try and avoid such unfortunate circumstances and hope that the positives are propagated through the examples of the good citizens.
Another reason for adding this stipulation to the contest is that the practice of rewarding political articles by the government in the situation when most such articles are written by members of one party may make the government look partisan and biased towards a particular party. This was suggested by another edead citizen Anish9500 in an article in the earlier month. To maintain and clarify the unbiased nature of Government activities this stipulation has been added to avoid such controversies surrounding the selection process in future.
Hence to avoid such kind of regrettable and controversial situations the "No Politics" stipulation has been added to the selection criteria.
Further please note over here that, this stipulation doesn't bar or condemn any player from writing any political articles. This only says such articles will not be considered in the MOMC competition. Further, the Competition should be an encouragement and not the criterion for writing any article. This doesn't prevent any player from writing any kind of articles that he or she wishes.
The change to Food from Weapons- As mentioned earlier, the MOMC competition aspires to encourage young and budding writers to Media and since Food or wellness is more of a help to these players rather than Weapons hence this change. High quality weapons doesnt really help the younger players in the earlier days of their elife as their damage is too low whereas a large quantity of food allows the same to fight for a larger number of times by increasing his food fights and thus allows him to grow faster and also achieve some medals like Mercenary Medal easily.
Both the stipulations mentioned here are based on the fact that senior, older players normally writes their desired articles irrespective of the Competition rewards. To be honest, any old player can easily afford 6 Q6 Weapons through their industries and is not the reason for them to write any article. It is a fact that, with a handful of exceptions, most senior players write articles mostly during important political events in eworld or explaining major global incidents which are sure to continue irrespective of the competition reward. This trend has continued for long and has been the same in the earlier months as well. As i have clearly mentioned in the article, all articles written by any senior players, which fulfills the mentioned stipulations will be certainly considered for the competition and most probably justly rewarded.
"Maintaining Status Quo"-
""alter the status quo" -> media was rocking past term(daily weapons dispatch), if i may say so... "
Even if this is true, shouldn't we try to achieve growth and improvements? A project or idea would approach stagnation and inefficiency when it tries to ignore enhancement and progress.
Based on the observations from the previous months, the discussed stipulations and changes have been implemented in the MOMC competition.
Please feel free to revert for more clarifications.

Can I suggest something?
In the event of an established player writing articles for MoMC, can you offer weapons instead?
Alector, Trojan, It was me who recommended that weapons reward to turned to food rewards. The idea behind it is simple. MoMC rewards are meant to encourage newbs to write articles. And Newbs with weapons and with out proper knowledge => Waste of weapons and money.
So, weapons switch was suggested. If any one wishes to change their food to weapon, you can always find me in IRC to convert it. If not me, one can convert the food to weapon in iTrade.
I dont mind giving weapons instead of food, as long the receiver "Understands" what the weapons mean.
All articles, political or non-political should be considered for the competition. Otherwise, you are discouraging people to write political articles.
political article = no reward
non political article = rewards
It's very clear what kind of article I would be writing if I were a noob.
kismu - we are nt dictators, lets give ppl their options...

BTW, unsubbed.
trojan, exibot, Suvajit has a point. But he could have elaborated why further in the article, I guess.
lol.........xD
lol.........xD
but all I write are political article :/
@kismu - this reply is for kismu, so others don't insert your d**k into this reply - i warned you
60q5food(approx 200inr)
Actually, I wasn't bothered who(did we elect our own dictators? xD) made or announced the decision...the only concern is about what decisions were made and how they were made. It's the system, not the individuals...
All I asked for is "OPTIONS FOR PUBLIC - weapons or food ? - political articles should get dispatches or not ?", so public can think and decide for themselves(is it that difficult for them to think ? or are we afraid of letting them think and become non-sheep?! 😮) rather than the govt deciding what they believe is best for the public. When a change was made last month, even for the most trivial of the decisions like q5 to q6 upgrade of weapons dispatch program, we(momc team - rebelash, perceptorp and me) took public opinion into consideration.
I know weapons won't be of much help to new guys but lets talk straight a few things, okay ? (no ideal world bullshit here - we live in a real world); an undeniable fact is that people write weapons for articles, not to increase their image in media or spread awareness or increase interaction in our dead eIndian media...that's why I suggested momc to aid them, give them advice(irc education - blackmarket, tips and tricks) along with inr(so they can buy whatever or save for saltpeter mines), show them the right path, if you guys are looking to discontinue weapon dispatch. MOMC is the only program where they can get weapons...the joy of fighting with weapons is entirely different, please dont take it away!

troj4n20, I will repeat what I said in PM to you again.
60q5food(approx 200inr) I said More or less. And last month it was Q5 weapons and it was upgraded to Q6 weapons because the cost was more or less the same. And this is fact : 60 Q5 Food = 6 Q5 Weapons. 6 Q5 weapons is more or less equal to 6 Q6 weapons. => 60 Q5 food is more or less 6 Q6 Weapons. And the issue we were discussing was not "how" much is been given, it is what is being given.
Actually, I wasn't bothered who(did we elect our own dictators? xD) made or announced the decision...the only concern is about what decisions were made and how they were made. It's the system, not the individuals...
I really dont understand why you had to call us dictators except to troll. When the govt needs to make decision, it cannot ask every single player to give their opinion. When the govt introduced gold loans, we were dictators, when the govt upgraded Q5 to Q6 weapons, we were not dictators, but when the govt does something that you dont agree, then calling us dictators is not mature.
Now coming to the actual issue at hand Food vs Weapons for Newbs (because you already said you dont care what the seasoned players do).
It is a well know fact that Weapons in the hands of a newbie is useless. Let me explain this too.
A kid with 200 str and rank commander can at most do 105 damage per shot bare hand and 231 with Q6 weapons. The q6 weapon adds 125 damage.
A guy with 6000 str and rank field marshal, can do a damage of 1600 with out weapons and 3520 with Q6 weapons. So for this guy, the q6 weapon adds 1925 damage.
Clearly, Q6 with a senior > Q6 with newb.
On the other hand, Food is extremely useful for newbs, 10 wellness = 1 exp or 2 exp if working. and when they are newbs, the leveling up is much faster. So, they can use this extra food to level more!!!
When the "baby" (newbies) wants to do something stupid and bad, it is the guardians (Govts) duty to protect them.
I can understand that new players like to have weapons in thier hands. I wanted weapons when I was young. I dint understand that time, they were "useless". I ended up being broke. Once I realized that it was useless, I stopped use weapons and I still regret buying those weapons.
It is my humble opinion that the current newbies dont do the same Mistakes I did.
If some one really needs weapons, they can convince me that they really need it and I shall give them weapons instead of food.
Looks like the threat to have me and my family attacked in real life by troj4n20 was removed, shame really would be nice for everyone to see his true personality shining through.
Good job the screen shot was saved I guess 😉
@troj4n20 : so you accept you threatened king and his family in real life? If you did mean to threaten him personally it is a pity.
>>Looks like the threat to have me and my family attacked in real life by troj4n20 was removed, shame really would be nice for everyone to see his true personality shining through.
Good job the screen shot was saved I guess
At-least it wasn't me who removed it though! : P nice job there making me look like am a coward who deleted my comment...hahaha If you guys so desperately wanted everyone to see my personality shining, why did you go cry to your plato to get the content removed ?
Assignment for you kiddo - go translate this - understand and come back to me - morige kukkalukaravavu, karichekukkalu moragavu...such a pity, i have to teach a 35+ guy, about the philosophies of life. Wish people had their means to educated themselves...
Now please go ahead and report this comment as well! xD
I dont have to make you look like anything your doing a fine job all on your own by threatning my wife and kids over an online game, pretty sad character really arn't you?
@kismu - so generous of you to join the drama - morige kukkalukaravavu, karichekukkalu moragavu

@troj4n20: I was pretty happy to discuss and settle it in messages. You put an open question here, so I had to reply. You accused me for being a dictator in the public. So I had to defend.
Fine, I will post our discussion here...hoping someone would read, think and reconsider!
kismu >>If it is my money, It is my money. It is worth same as any other money I earned.
me >> Well there is a difference between something that you earn and something that you get for free. Probably, you dont see any difference...but i can tell you this, nda, rt wont require much time or effort...while media does...so, when they(writers) are ready to put in some effort, i believe we should do our part and give them an option to get paid in whichever or whatever way they want - give them inr or weps or food after educating them
kismu >> Q6 weapons are like magnets that attract citizens to media
me >> if u demagnetize media, am afraid it will slowly die away. So, i suggest this to you...maintain the status quo in media ie., do propaganda that momc is still dispatching weapons but when it comes to dispatching newguys, inform them about the advantages of fighting barehanded over using weapons and then ask them to make an informed decision ie., food or inr
>> when the govt does something that you dont agree, you call them dictators ?
It was not like I was calling just you and suvajit that...I was referring to myself as well, I am a part of govt as well(was and i will look to be in)...sorry, doesn't RT come under that ? It's really sad that I have to point out that it was supposed to be a joke - http://intelbook.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/democracy2.gif - I understand kismu, some jokes are hard to laugh at, particularly when the joke is on you! xD Apparently, I cannot expect everyone around to be jovial like me, so I will just leave it there.

As a citizen of eIndia, I perhaps had the wrong idea that it's okay to point out a few concerns of mine over the govt's decision making. Sorry for being so frank and straightforward with my approach, at-least am not the one(hypocrite) who speaks something, thinks something and does something. Perhaps, the way of expression of dissent is certainly not of the best, but if it serves the purpose as long as the govt gets the idea of what I am talking about, I am fine with it.
Anyways, sticking to the topic...some are too trivial, that govt need not bother asking every citizen for feedback or opinion before taking a decision. Even for the most trivial of the decisions like q5 to q6 weapons upgrade, previous term momc dept asked in media for citizens feedback and then, implemented it( http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-momc-another-update-from-momc-office--1943842/1/20 )...however, this article doesn't seem to be the case. It was as if, a decision has already been made by one or 2 top level "INSERT-RIGHT-WORD-HERE" and the minister guy was just making an announcement. If decision making were to include considerable public feedback through media or forums, there wont be disasters like this one, we have now.
good luck running the country, the way you want...

DELETED COMMENT -
@sucajit
1 "An Indian" - is not a newbie, plz do your research first and then, do the talking. For **s sake, that guy even knew my first name, last name, room number, what underwear brand i was wearing on that day WTH!
2 "Persian Princess 2011" - Anyone with RL extreme views as RSS, bajrangdal etc would be driven away by the rational populace...need not necessarily be yuva or some other party party; how blind are we to see that?!
...besides, neither of the above 2 wrote for weapons anyways...they had their own agendas.
I think I have said what needs to be said...it's a challenge if u may consider it as one, do what you can to _____ things up...(fill that blank yourself at the end of your term)

Damn ALL YOUR LONG LONG COMMENTS,READ THIS FOR A VeRDICT ::--
YOU ARE LOSING WRITERS,NEWBIES DONT HAVE HISTORIES TO WRTE ABOUT OR KNOW SO MUCH ABOUT THE GAME TO WRITE NEWBIE HELPERS,THE ONLY THIN THEY KNOW IS WHAT THEY LEARN AT FIRST.
I will be gaining re-activity fully from 16th or 17th,then you just wait and watch......
Also,by wait and watch,I mean,media stuff,not fights 😛
Also, political inside wars are the only "fun" thing in-game,all other is bs
LOL @ troj only posting parts of his deleted comment, lost your balls big boy?
Also, how many articles can you flush in the media per day even if the nation goes maniac, max 10 (eIndia I mean)
So,if those 10 have to intresting and worth reading, they WILL have to be political.
In my views, you are doing this to avoid mud being spilt on anyone but remember that a sandy cloth will be cleaned by mama only once its muddy 😉
😁Remember that.
Anyways,my policy = If you wanna make a change, start with the man in the mirror (or webcam perhaps?? 😛)
Also about the food vs. Weps chat.
Well, there,Im neutralsih and it isnt actually a topic worth spoiling moods over.
MY VIEW }
Well, many are giving away food, just hand over 5 q5 or 5 q4 and newbs will be happy
I know its gonna be useless, but the satisfaction will be higher and their chances of doing 25 kills a day would increase hence more bazookas and bars, faster level ups = more gold and hence better I suppose. Who cares for ini when they can earn bazookas and do health damages enough to kill 25 and get bazookas and bars = more damage
Rest you wish.
>>LOL @ troj only posting parts of his deleted comment, lost your balls big boy?
I am not dumb(though, i may look so) to post the same content again and again to be be pleasured by plato with 1FP, every time. Its not about balls but about brains...and either-ways, go do your homework kid! Don't want to get punishments for not doing your homework tomo, do you ?!? hahaha...
/me leaves for dinner...

Debate is OK, but personal threats is not the way to go... : /
@alector - It was a joke meant to scare 5yr, 6 yr old brats, so they can go cry to their mothers and their beloved old man plato about how some guy made fun of them in a virtual world and once the eyes run out of tears, make screen-shots, enlarge them and hang them on their walls as a token of their failures to remind themselves of what they were as kids for years to come. Any sane fellow would know it's just an empty threat to remind people how foolish and paranoid they are! Looks like my reply served the purpose after all... xD
last reply...good bye and good luck...

I know all of this had been said in the above comments somewhere or the other, but still, I'll say it in my words:
Opinion of a noob:
1. Could we please get weapons instead?? We already get 900 Wellness daily.. (600 from NDA and 300 from RT).. This is 90 clicks daily.. Since I am a new player, I only have 5 Buildings till now.. Which consume 50 Wellness.. The remaining 850 will be sold off... I don't have money to buy weapons, not even after selling the excess stuff, so I can't fight.. 6 Q6 Weapons will give me 36 Clicks daily.. And help me grow and complete daily orders more quickly.. So, could we make it the writer's choice whether he wants weapons or food??
2. Political articles: Most of us players can't do anything right now except log in once a day and work.. So, if someone spends his time checking out the media and writes a political article, shouldn't he be seen as a possible active player and encouraged?? Of course, his article might be controversial and possibly false, but that can be taken care of, I think...
Btw, 50th comment : D
