This is the last day to complete those New Years missions and for Party Presidents to lock in their nominations for the Country President elections later this week. The online radio program eNPR will host a presidential debate this evening at 19:00. Jude Connors will moderate the discussion between incumbent Oblige and his most vocal challenger, NCP president Pizza the Hut II. Connors told Point Taken that former Canadian president Aeriela and “the most interesting man in eRepublik” Sir Gulden Draak may also attend, but were not confirmed yet. Poland has been removed from the map after German forces recaptured their native Saarland, Poland’s last region. Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, and France had combined efforts over the past week to finish off the nation that, just two months ago, was leading an invasion of the mainland United States. Poland’s ally the United Kingdom, a recent addition to the ONE alliance, has recovered from their wipe earlier this week. The UK now owns two of its northern regions and is currently attacking Canada for a third.
Update: Since being wiped earlier today, Poland has recovered the region of Mazuria.

On the American front, the US successfully re-took French Languedoc Roussillon from Serbia while returning Poitou Charentes to the French. The result is a weapons boost for France, a food boost for the US, and a loss in food bonus for Serbia. In total, a 3-0 advantage for the TERRA alliance. The US recently launched an attack on Aragon, a Spanish region occupied by their ally Serbia. A win there would give the US an additional food bonus, raising the total production bonus to an impressive 100%

Young writer Robert Renolds wrote a harsh critique of the admin’s introduction of Q6 companies several weeks ago. He advocates a move away from “for purchase” options that influence the basic gameplay, and instead offering side-feature such as API access that will enhance the game for those with a Mastercard without giving them a direct advantage over those without.

Veteran player Romper is leaving the game, according to eUS Forum reports. Romper was well known as a pro-EDEN tank and a purchaser of gold from the admin.
