In Defence of Democracy and the Quebecois
Gaius Julius Caesar00
Yesterday was the day of the Presidential elections and a particularly hard fought one at that. It was also one of the most controversial elections with both sides at each others' throats. There were two particular attacks against me personally that stood out and I would like to dispel the falsehoods that were contained therein.
The first was an article published yesterday that contained some suggestions that were negative against the Union Nationale. This is the article.
The Elephant in the Room

I did make a comment on this article which did suggest that there were many parties in eCanada that were making strides to include the Quebecois as much as possible. However, through either misinformation or outright fabrication it came somehow to be public knowledge that the org "Empire Resources" was my own and that I had in fact written the article and shielded my own name in doing so. This is not the case.
In Congress there is a thread about conflicts of interest in which I have illustrated the full holdings of my private citizen which include Caesar Industries (an org) and two companies but never have I ever owned an org named "Empire Resources." Also, if you view the donations page you can see the lack of a relationship between Gaius Julius Caesar00 and Empire Resources.
Furthermore, I have every interest to include the French language as much as possible (lack of activity prevents a separate French section on the CPP forum) and I have also done my best to ensure that only French-speaking candidates run for Congress under the CPP banner in Quebec. It is not the policy of the Canadian Paradox Party to attack or otherwise discredit the people of Quebec.
There is a second attack that was made against me, this time by one of my own party members - 00AngryMobMan00. I cannot illustrate the level of disappointment I had when I read this member's article. This is the article:
Caesar VS. The CPP
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/caesar-vs-the-cpp-1128170/1/20
In his article, AngryMobMan takes aim at the article in which I publicly stated the CPP endorsement. It has been customary for myself as Party President of the CPP to publish an official announcement of our support each election. There is nothing different about this election, other than his disappointment with the results of our poll.
Nevertheless, there are a number of Derek Harland supporters within the Canadian Paradox Party with AngryMobMan being one of them. Derek has enjoyed entry to each of the past two CPP polls we have run, in part due to my own nomination which I also gave to Jacobi (Presidential candidates must have the nomination of at least two CPP members to be included in our polls). However, in each and every CPP poll that was run with Jacobi as a nominee, Jacobi has won regardless of who is Party President at the time. The numbers in each poll are very similar, too.
The Canadian Paradox Party is a democracy. We run polls to determine who we support for Prime Minister of Canada. Derek Harland was given a fair chance but the majority of party members supported Jacobi. The Canadian Paradox Party will therefore not be pressured into endorsing a candidate that has not won our poll and I as Party President must accept the decision of the party, not go against it to satisfy the desires of an elite few.

Well spoken sir.
"an elite few."
Misleading and derogatory language exercised against your fellow party members for your own benefit. You're smearing your own party members...
While endorsing the candidate who wins CPP polls may be customary, I doubt that ostracizing your own party members, the majority of whom you speak of have been CPP for far longer than you have, is "customary."
You are more than welcome to rejoin the party when your temp-ban expires. I have no wish to ostracize you from the party. My only wish is that you accept the new Article of Respect which is being voted upon.
Creating a law after-the-fact to justify actions taken before the existence of any legal justification is against the law for a reason. People should not be punished without legal justification. The CPP has no grounds to remove members for criticizing candidates; nonetheless, you made some up, and only after drafted legislation to excuse your actions.
Sounds like someone else I know.
It goes without saying that myself as well as Tom Hagen and 00AngryMobMan00 have the power to moderate the official CPP forum. The Article of Respect simply states in writing acceptable behaviour for a CPP member. It is not "law" but a part of the CPP Platform.
I will say it once, and only once for everyone to hear. It's not the fact that that is who you chose to support, its not that at all, im fine with who you/we suported. Its the manner in which you took to publicize that support. I mean, is 1 ad not enough? But a personal article, and then use the CPP org. to create (20 times) a comment saying "SUPPORT JACOBI, blah blah blah"
😁 It goes beyond the elections. It shows how we all act as a party. You making almost a spam session out of our org. can really determine how people look at our party. I just wish you would of taken a better route to publicizing our support for Jacobi.
AMM, I used the CPP org and the party to run ads for the CP and congressional members running for congress. In my opinion, it's normal for parties to support their candidates in every way possible. As a member of the party, you have the right to voice your displeasure and the fact that you will be voting against the party but there is nothing wrong with the party president following party lines.
I'm going to have to agree with caesar in this one.

Yes, but in the congressionals, thats fine for a party to support which ever whatever campigns they want. Im just pointing out, that this even goes beyond me, i've had people (other than Scorpius) commenting to me on IRC about this situation, about how certain CPP events have been taken to too many extremes. Its not just my opinion im vocing, its all the eCanadians who agree things have gotten... erm... out of hand lately (well, they haven't gotten TOO much out of hand, its really only this event I can think of)
😁 In your article Caesar00, you completely missed the mark of my message. Your teying to make it sound like im rebeling, because of who the CPP supported for the CP elections. Its not that at all. Its just the measures that were taken to show off that support (as ive said many times now)
