I’m Sorry Israel: Tears of an ex-President

Day 1,270, 14:08 Published in Israel Israel by BuzzyTheCat

I would like to take you back to a beautiful day at Ein Gedi sitting out on the beach. The sky was clear, the sun was warm, the economy was stronger than it had ever been, the Country’s accounts were larger than even I had imagined 4 months before. It was not just a beautiful day; it was a glorious day to be Israeli. They day was 649 and I was getting ready to pass power on to the next President. It had been 3 great, but long months serving my adopted country in Jerusalem. Along with Sadeh Badeh we had personally financed a Defense System for the country, I had personally built and run the original IDF for the 4 months Sadeh Badeh was President, I had served a total of 9 times in congress, I along with my brothers, were the founding fathers of the country.

During this time Israel went from nothing, and I truly do mean nothing, to having a well oiled government, a fully funded military, a thriving government company base, a powerful economy, and neutrality that was respected by nearly all. (Turkey and Iran were always threats, but even they respected Israeli neutrality for the year Israel existed) Israel was a growing beautiful country where only the sky was the limit. I stepped down as 3 time President of this flourishing empire a few days after I wrote this speech (http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/my-retirement-from-president--917845/1/20) with high expectations for the country.

Within months Israeli neutrality had been broken, we were at war with Turkey, the government treasury, companies, and military had been stolen, not once, but twice, the country was descending into chaos. So I stepped up again and became the Minister of Economic Development and Minister of Finance. Slowly I worked with President Franz Kafka to rebuild the devastated economy.

Then I left the game for over a year. I am older than 80% of you, I work full time, I attend Graduate school at night, and still try to find time to relax and have a functioning life. Alas after some time I was bored one day and decided to see how much gold all those old companies had made. That was 2 months ago. I was richer than ever, the new production models now allowed me to be self sustaining and self funding… I could now make enough weapons to fight all I wanted. So on to check out the battles. Awesome! No more huge wall to throw yourself at (and for a few minutes, I thought the return of PvP battles had occurred) On to check out how things are in the marketplace and economy.

OMG! NIS is now completely unregulated and fluctuates wildly each day providing great uncertainty for business owners and investors. The Marketplace is now just a place to rip off the young players. (I produce nearly 300 food per day personally; it costs me nothing to do this) The IDF is horribly undersized and underfunded. The country it burning to the ground and no one seems to notice, or give much voice… I am sorry my dear Israel. If I had more time in real life, if I hadn’t left… maybe you wouldn’t all suffer so much. I am sorry that my beloved country has been lead to ruin while I was gone.
