HUCARD FAILS FOR CONGRESS

SO I MANAGED TO APPLY IN THE WRONG PROVINCE AND THUS I CANNOT RUN FOR CONGRESS THIS MONTH, BRILLIANT DISPLAY OF COMPETENCE
Note to self: Resubmit application after moving next time, it does not automatically follow your current location.

After the break I took last month, I have decided to run for congress again this term, in Alberta. I admit that I was a bit undecided up until the last minute, but there are issues our country faces and I cannot sit by idly as Canada drifts off into meaninglessness!

EDEN

As I have probably made clear by now, I am not too fond of our alliance. I consider Canada's membership in EDEN to limit Her capacities in terms of foreign relations, Her self-determination, and the will of Her people.
It would be folly to go as far as to suggest leaving the alliance, but my goal is to at least reach the highest level of autonomy possible while remaining a part of EDEN. I believe that Canada's citizens deserve to be informed about the purpose of the battles they fight in, and that we must not be treated like drones who will just blindly follow questionable orders with a questionable or entirely unknown aim.
To reform the alliance as a mere congressman of a minor member of its is, I am aware, overly ambitious, but I nonetheless believe that our nation could at least press for smaller changes to EDEN's workings, even if it is just a controlled and limited flow of information to its citizens.

Diplomacy

Diplomacy is something that seems to have been lost in recent times. Supposedly EDEN actually does conduct such, if yet behind closed curtains, before it lets its rifles speak. But even if due to the supremacy of the alliance and our inability to form relations with Phoenix states despite some of them actually being potentially friendly towards us if not for the circumstances our actions here are restricted, I still think Canada can make a difference. We could form partnerships with smaller unaligned nations which are currently overlooked by EDEN (which, I quote, "doesn't care about neutral countries&quot😉 but which would prove to be valuable allies
I already brought up Austria, with whom I still support a closer cooperation. Seeing Argentina's landing on the African continent it might also be wise to move closer to either South Africa, Thailand, or its probable goal of India, to support our southern neighbours in their Asian campaign (assuming it is still alive) and India's and China's continued sovereignty alike. There are countless options here, and I still believe that Canada has the ability form a network of friendships and MPPs of mutual benefit.

Invasion of the UK

I still refuse to support "Operation Teabag", as it is commonly referred to these days as I fail to see how it is of use to our country. Activating the UK's MPP is an unnecessary danger, and we have nothing to gain from this war. Revenge is a moronic reason to attack someone.
At the same time however I do not outright oppose this war any more either. EDEN has made itself the enemy of all of Western Europe anyway, and an attack on the UK cannot worsen our alliance image any more now that it is already drowned in the blood of four harmless nations.
But don't you complain that nobody warned you if something goes wrong and in a few weeks the Union Jack flutters above our heads and Hungarian, Serbian, Russian, and whatever other soldiers make a feast on our soil.

~hyuu~ism

While these points are of course of higher priority and I will have to see if I can find the time for this fourth one, I might try to further develop ~hyuu~ism. As a state religion it has the potential to become a symbol of Canadian national unity, and a more institutionalised church could further spread the teachings of the ~hyuu~.
