Austria - A potential ally?

I believe that Austria would make for a great new ally of Canada. While it may be true that the nation is very small and thus of weak military and economical strength, what would make a friendship between our two countries beneficial for both parties is its crucial location.
It borders Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia (currently Croatia), the Czech Republic, and Hungary. In the past, the latter has often had to pass through Cisleithania to pursue various goals, be it the liberation of Germany from Sweden and Poland and the ensuing conquest of Canada, or the repeated occupations of Switzerland.
In the future, Hungary might follow a similar route. Currently Germany once again finds itself under the oppression of an EDEN country, and while thus far Hungarian efforts to defend the nation have been minimal, in the future it might once again see the need to liberate the Federal Republic.
If they do, it will most likely be done bearing ulterior motives. If EDEN conquered the UK a relief attack from Hungary would be a possibility, as well as a campaign to liberate France from Spain - and bear in mind that both of these countries border ours.
Austria has proven in the past that it is not willing to let Hungary pass through its lands. Hungary however has also demonstrated numerous times that it cares little for the will of those who stand in its way, and depending how the tides of war turn in the future, Cisleithania might find its sovereignty threatened again eventually.
Here is where an alliance of ours with them would be a mutual advantage. If this time comes, we would be able to immediately rush to defend Austria, which in turn would also protect our own borders and the interests of EDEN.
Furthermore the Austrians are understandably intimidated by the Polish conquest of Germany leading to them now sharing a border and fear that Poland might eventually try to claim their country as well. Officially allying with Austria would give them a bit of security, as even Poland is unlikely to simply invade the friend of a fellow EDEN member.
Since EDEN as a whole is unable to conduct any sort of diplomacy that goes beyond hitting bystanders with clubs and Canada generally enjoys a decent reputation, I believe that we should seize the chances to form as many bonds as we can. Further, we once already formed a temporary MPP with Austria during Hungary's short-lived attack.
Them being an ally of France which is currently not treated well by EDEN may complicate things, but it should be all the more reason for us to demonstrate to the world that not every member of our alliance is as much of a raving barbarian as many countries are sure to perceive us after recent events.

and now poland became powermad with 25k active citizens. they would simply hold a gun to eCanadas head, if they want conquer austria and you were one of their friends. maybe they would even blackmail whole eden. "you need us, so step aside, or else..."
I agree with this message as the president of eAustria, this is a fantastic idea, and I for one have the utmost respect for eCanada's reputation.
HuCard, you're preaching to the choir. No one here really cares much for Germany and France. Austria's alright, I don't want them to be invaded, but EDEN is always first

Its a great idea to look at that and make alliances with Austria, but right now we are looking at war and when we attack and their allys with us, than they will get involved in it sooner or later. As i have seen, Austria is a small country with a couple of really good players in their that we truly respect like the President of that country. By any means, have them send the invitation of a alliance and we'll gladly accept it, but with making them an alliance, it will do nothing for us. They aren't being attack by any one at the moment and are fine. If they want to stay fine, i should say for them to be allies with the US as they are the power of mostly the world or Poland. Canada has not yet gotten that big yet and its would just be an alliance with them. It would be good for them to fight in our wars and help us out, for sure. So its just up to the President of either Austria or Canada to send the invitation of alliance.
France was such an unfortunate bystander when they were invading us. Poor frogs *sniff*

from the East you have Hungary who wants to invade you
from the West is Spain and Poland who wants to invade you
however HuCard is talking about, noone can protect you, Italy and France are the perfect examples for that.
And how you want to defend Hungary ? With Venezuela ? or Mexico ?
There is in Phoenix also no Country who could be able to defend you.
eAustria has to lose their pride or face or whatever you will call that, when you want to exist as an eCountry.
Don't bother - Poland is going to swallow them up and more - we might as well help Poland and Spain go nuts and see how far they can go before the new version comes along and likely changes the game mechanics
Australia is sworming with very good friends of mine who acctually helped Canada along time ago, many people here dont remember from back there and dont look at the past but the future. If Poland is going to swallow all of europe, guess wats going to happen, their probably going to be a big shot later(maybe) im not against them, but they might go for us as a target after there done in europe as your trying to say they are trying to take over the world which is not true.
And this will never happen, this is just what after what you says happens will probably happen hb741. With Poland, they are just looking to conquer its enemies and than afterwards live fine until someone goes against them. Now that is the truth.
Its Austria, not Australia. And i am for this. It would be good.

srry, i sometimes mispell that, but the other things are right.
Austria and Canada have been close, despite not being in the same alliance. As was mentioned, Canada signed an emergency MPP with Austria after we were invaded, and William Duncan (and SaraDroz) were very helpful to us, even giving us connections to other countries who might have been willing to help. And even though the MPP was not in effect until after the battle in Burgenland, Canadians put up the second most damage of any country, even more than some who we had an actual MPP with - just by moving and fighting.
I'm glad to see Canadians are still looking out for us now 🙂
Be careful, though. You should first consider what the near future might bring. After the probable fall of France, invasion of UK and Holland, Hungary will be the next big thing. And for some countries, Austria holds key regions for blocking or direct assault. As of yet, it is unclear to what extent is Austria considering its future.
