Hamilton Deposed; White House Seized

Day 1,112, 12:27 Published in USA USA by Myles Robinson

America,

As the White House Chief of Staff during President Hamilton's tenure, I was essentially a gatekeeper in charge of managing who had access to the important parts of the executive branch while also overseeing the work of the president's Cabinet. About one week ago, I started to notice small fractures appearing within the Cabinet as the election started to draw closer; people were scared of who might win. Some even raised the specter of using the government's power to try influence the election in a certain way. However, I quickly saw to it that such antidemocratic notions were silenced.

Yet, from our ivory tower, we bureaucrats and politicians watched the uncertainty of yesterday's close race lead to utter chaos. The media became overrun with frantic politicking and thus largely irrelevant, putting people in a panic; allegations of voter fraud led to hundreds of votes vanishing during electoral review; anger turned into riots. President Hamilton, drunkenly elated that his term was about up and still high off of the awesome alliance with Brazil, was having difficulty addressing the situation, and it quickly spun out of control. I met with Vice President Gulden Draak and discussed our options, but he had indicated that it was by now too late to successfully intervene in the election. A growing revolution had already infiltrated the highest levels of the government-- including my deputy, Speedcat McNasty, who had the clearance codes to everything.

Thus, as Revolutionary Commandante Josh Frost's overwhelming forces marched on the White House, I stood outside and surrendered the keys to the Oval Office. I was temporarily taken prisoner along with the rest of the White House staff that had not yet fled as General Frost relieved President Hamilton of his office. In exchange for service in the new regime, President Hamilton's life was spared, as were some others who surrendered. Countless staffers and interns have died, however, and more are likely to over the coming days. When interrogated about my loyalty, I simply replied that my purpose is to serve the state, and I have no qualms with whoever is in charge. My skills were deemed useful.

From his new position of power, Supreme Chancellor Frost has addressed the nation and informed them of the regime change. It is henceforth government policy that all people officially associated with the Libertarian Party or the rebel terrorist known as CRoy are to be excluded from government and either captured or killed. State officials have promised that the rebellion and those people associated with it will be crushed. Jewitt, the Consul of the People's Wealth, has announced the new fiscal policy to be charged by the state.

Supreme Chancellor Frost's coup d'kitteh has been successful. America, the revolution has begun, and a rebellion has started in opposition, rallying around CRoy. The revolution threatens to engulf the whole world in flames; enjoy the barbeque or try to fight it. The choice is yours. For now, though, the Kitteh shall reign.

Viva la revolucion.
