Day 1,170, 19:31 Published in USA USA by Heather Fuchs

Holy crap, 2 interview weeks in a row! Is Spam phoning it in? No, there’s a reason for this week’s interview. See the end for last week’s winner of the “guess which part Spam made up” prize.

For Immediate Release

2 February 2011 1400 Zulu

General GoalieBCSC, commanding officer of the eUS Mobile Infantry, announced that he is stepping down as commanding officer and retiring from the eUS Military, effective immediately. Mobile Infantry Executive Officer Lieutenant General tsewell is hereby promoted to General and will assume command of the branch.

General GoalieBCSC served a long and distinguished career with the eUSMI, accruing 3 Battle Hero medals and one Resistance Hero medal during his military service. He served the MI in many capacities from platoon officer to quartermaster, quartermaster general, branch XO and then branch CO from June 2010 to the present.

When asked, why he was retiring, Goalie simply stated, “I am going to pursue other interests at this time. I am not leaving the game, just time for a long-needed change.”

Further inquiries may be directed to this office or to the office of the general.

And now, on to Goalie’s exit interview:

When did you start playing eRepublik? How'd you find it?

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure how I found this game. I somehow found eRepublik and have never turned back.

How did you get involved in the eUS Military?

I recieved the New Citizen message under Scrabman telling about the military and I joined the TD (Training Division) back in June of 2009, it took about a week and a half to get a response for me. My first platoon leader was Zack Mack. As soon as I hit 4 strength, I joined the MI.

Why did you join the MI?

I, like many newbs wanted to be a super tank, and in the Marines. After TD, the next logical step was to join the MI. After 3 weeks I was accepted to be an officer and haven't looked back since.

Tell us about your MI career - officerships, etc.

Started as a Platoon officer in D3, until Delta was folded. I then became the PCO of B6 which I was for a few months. Soon a QM job opened up, and I applied and got the spot. I was QM under Dimension for another few months, then was promoted to QMG. I was QMG until Dec 27th 2009, when Beerman616 stepped down as MI CO. Seuss then tapped me as his XO. I was XO for six months until Seuss retired. I took over as MI CO on July 10th 2010, and named tsewell my XO.

What was your favorite V1 moment?

I have 2: My first deployment was to Central Greece, so that sticks out in my mind as being really cool. The second would have to be my resistance war started in Limpopo and all the "nice mail" I received at the time.

Favorite V2 moment?

Getting my first ever BH by being the only one on the resistance side to fight for much of the day against 100+ Serbians.

Favorite officer?

Therose - She was a mentor for me in many ways and I still keep in touch with her often through outside eRep means.

Cake or Pie?

Pie is my favorite, all types of pie.

Favorite eRep opponent, if you have one?

I don't really have any opponents in this game. I try to be friendly with everyone I talk to. We might not agree, but that doesn't give me any reason to treat others bad.

Why are you retiring?

I am going to pursue other interests at this current time.

Are you leaving the game?

No, I am not leaving the game. Just making a long needed change.

The last word? I think not…

And now for last week’s winner!
The winner of the highest Q weapon I can find is… NO ONE! Not a single person (of the four of you who tried) was able to guess the answer I made up. The question and completely bogus answer were:
Okay, who was your favorite officer to work with or under, any branch?
Tough one. I’d say GoalieBCSC but he’d laugh and then kickban me. Probably Greenday4537. Dim was a bit of a hard-ass as CCO, but Greenday and I get along pretty well.

Anyone who knows n4n0 should realize that he doesn’t talk like that, at least not on purpose, even accounting for my grammatical corrections. Oh well, better luck next time!

If you are at least 5 days old, your strength is at least 300 and your battlefield rank is Lieutenant or higher (or you can do at least 65 influence per fight barehanded) and you like pie as much as we do, you too could be a member of the Mobile Infantry!!!

If not, then get your military career started in the Training Corps!
