Britain controlled Ireland for hundreds of years, and still controls the North of the island. Ireland speaks English, and is part of the British Isles. I'm half Irish and half English, and I see no argument in favour of Ireland 'winning' historically or presently.
The British army should of went in and killed anyone that spoke against it, that would of "won" us the war. Yeah, the IRA probably did with the conflict in NI due to our lack of sense in the entire matter.
