As you have noticed Private Military Units are way too much blind damage prone.
Perhaps some kind of real army could be arranged, with precise orders ( striking and information gathering), with training in specific goals.
We could exercise till we get organized enough to try to overwhelm much bigger enemies than us.
All this could be respecting Real Life commitments and finding a flexible way of organization, and sensible mechanism of using tanks.

What makes you believe that only an official army will do non-blind damage? At times people follow the official orders blindly when the battle is clearly won or lost... Independant MUs tend to be a lot more flexible tactically...
because of DRILLING, people will get accostumed to FOLLOW ORDERS.

we can build it, with discipline and order, little by little, with a tight chain of command and order, gathering information, delivering damage when and as much as needed... we only need volunteers. I volunteer!

No, I won't join BEF. BEF is just another military unit, with ordinary DO. Old fashioned Drill is essential. People must be taught to collaborate and follow orders ( within Real Life constraints): gather information about battle status, deliver damage only when needed, share results with their officials. All this can be done only, firstly, in a small scale with a small group, and little by little growing into a whole scale of command, with officials and fighters. But with a lot of interaction

but people won't/don't listen, nor care enough. They drop there damage then walk away.

Ah wouldn't it be nice, you see here you are saying what should happen without volunteering if you want something, make it happen this applies to most of life just go out and do it.

I volunteer ! and no, we don't have any army , as far as I know, we got a government MU, with loose interaction , just supplies, it's more like a gang than an army.
most people join MUs for the DO, all they care for is the zooka and chewie asap
people join private MUs cuz they tend to be better supplied
once DO completed people tend to hunt for merc progress
so you just gotta change that set of mentality for everyone and your on the way there!
I volunteer, I think it is a great Idea because we are a small country. Throughout history the only way the side with the least numbers has won a battle, was from being placed on high ground or from great leadership. Since there is no high ground because this is a virtual world the only way we can beat larger enemies is through good leadership and that won't happen if each Military unit has their own agenda. I think, like aplabethis, that there should be one army.
Or (I just ran out of characters) all military units should answer to one Authoritative figure (i.e. the Prme minister) but that figure should be someone who has through time shown good leadership and fought in lots of campaigns.

I think the case which Alphabeatas has missed is that there is the power to all hit on one target if required but at the eUK at the moment is in a T/P state with Ireland pretty much then there isn't really a big home battle to be fought, if it boils down to fighting for eUK most if not all MU's would set the battles as DO's I would imagine thus producing one big army all hitting the same place.
I think it would be a fantastic idea to have a National Army to defend the UK and to also go after our enemies and work with our allies Worldwide.
If we all worked together properly then we could improve our economy aswell (The National Army owns companies, it employs the soldiers to work in those companies so the Army has a decent inventory - overseen by a Quartermaster - and can make sure all soldiers have what they need to do their DOs and also any other battles in which their assistance
is required. As the soldiers use up their supplies the Army could purchase lots of supplies on the marketplace to help non-Army companies to receive an income. In RL defence spending is used to help an economy aswell as to get a Country ready for war).
An army supported by Communes... that sounds familiar. What we need is some sort army of the people. Perhaps a People's Army?...

First British Army won't have any ideological connotations . Apparently, we are now 4 volunteers, we can try the very first unit.

Any Army should just protect the National interests and not have it's own ideology. It's there to protect it's Country's citizens and eliminate threats.
