On the 5th of every month the nations of the New World begin the process of electing a new leader for their country. This is by far the most important election of the month, and the outcome of this day will determine our fate for the month to come.
Let your vote be an exercise of individual choice, a reflection of your loyalty to eIreland, and a result of the careful application of independent thought.
In an attempt to better inform the voting population, I'd like to provide some essential information about this months elections.

Campaign Articles
It's a good idea to read the campaign articles of each candidate before voting. Campaign articles most often detail the intentions and goals of a candidate, as well as often their planned cabinet.
Note: The Country President's Cabinet refers to a team of people who will be aiding the Country President in his/her duties. Important examples are the Minister(s) of Defence, Minister(s) of Foreign Affairs, and Minister(s) of Finance. For examples of past cabinets, look here. Background Information
(to the best of my abilities)
Columbia: Columbia has been playing eRepublik for quite some time having recently broken to 1000 day mark. She has her origins in eGreece where she has been a Minister of New Players as well as Vice President on Occasion. She has spent her eLife between eGreek and eCanadian citizenship, until July of 2011 when she decided to opt for eIrish citizenship. She has military experience both in helping our Ministry of Defence, and as the commander of Furious Meerkats (an EDEN military unit). She has been a member and commander in several units, like Ieros Lohos in Greece, myrmidones, The Crimson Order, and Irish Army. Columbia was also Minister of New Citizens in the December 2011 administration under Irish Rebel Reborn. This term (January) she served as eIreland's Minister of Foreign Affairs with MUFC92 as Country President.
Moomoohea
😛Moomoohead has a long history of involvement in eIrish history and politics, and he's been around a while too having joined the game on August 1, 2009. He has been Country President on two occasions already: once in June 2010, and again in November 2010 (when after the impeachment of the elected CP he took on the role of the 9th of that month). He has also been the Vice President of eIreland twice (and one time Vice Vice President under Connell Rath's very large government). In addition he has served as Co-Minister of Finance under Patton in May 2010, and Minister of Foreign Affiars under Nogin the Nogs administration in September 2010. Moomoohead is also a member of Libertad having announced both the introduction of Libertad-IRE [1] and Libertad-USA [2]. Moomoohead has also spent time travelling the New World before his recent return. Most recently in the eUSA he outlines his travels in this article.
(Disclaimer) A Moment of Indulgence In My Own Bias
This has been one of the most controversial elections seen in eIreland for a long time. While in a way, its good to see the media lit up for once, its also hard to watch our community burning up like this. I don't feel like the details of my personal opinion on the matter will add anything to the debate, but I would like to point out the following historical facts regarding some points that I noticed were brought up.
The December 2010 wipe of eIrelan

For some reason the details of who's fault this might have been keep popping up. I've been told by players who were experienced at the time... that there were some tricky factors at work during those events that transcend any blame that we could force on any CP of eIreland.
For the sake of accurately remembering the details though:
November 2010: Orangejuicemmm is elected CP of Ireland but because of some kind of controversy around his MoD appointment (which was totally over my head at the time since I joined eRep in September 2010) he ends up being impeached by Dail. On November 9th, 2011, Moomoohead became the newest CP of eIreland.
Around the middle of November eIreland was in good shape having taken both Wales and Northern Ireland. But after a failed attempt to invade West Midlands, the eUK mounted a huge counter attack. By the 21st eIreland is left with 3 regions, and so Canada and USA come along to liberate our regions and dig us out (at this same time Canada is on a run through Scotland down toward London). But even with the assistance of our two strong allies, eIreland was struggling during the month.
On December 6 John Gormley takes over as CP after winning the elections. He starts his term with only one region under his control: Southeast Ireland. It was the day after that eIreland was wiped completely for the first time in history (December 7th). eIreland was only actually wiped for a short time, but at that time, the mechanics of eRepublik were such that being wiped was serious business. There were lasting repercussions.
Libertad
Libertad is a military unit who has its origins in eGreece and who's mandate can be boiled down to liberating small nations during resistance wars by "battling for their freedom within the margins of ensuring national survival." Recently this brought Libertad-IRE to fight for eMexico during battles against eIreland's close ally eCroatia. This has been a controversial matter during the elections, because of the possible conflict of interest that it might produce between eIreland's administration and established foreign affairs or international perception. Moomoohead has announced his decision to take leave from Libertad during this month with the intention of avoiding that conflict of interest.

eIreland's Gaining Membership to EDEN
eIreland gained EDEN membership on March 10, 2011 during 05637716 (aka. Digits) Country Presidency. You can read the article here if you're interested.
If you don't see why some of the above is relevant... don't worry I don't think a lot of it is either. I'm not sure why some of it came up in the elections, but I feel its best to get the facts straight either way.
Although I'm frankly not too familiar personally with either of this months candidates, I'm reasonably sure that we'll survive this next month regardless of who wins. I wish our next CP the best of luck, and I wish eIreland the same.

I had not bothered to look at that page before now. But goals like that make me think someone is treating this election like a joke. You are better than that, Moo.

Reason for Ireland wipe was turkish gold. That month we got UK down to two regions. JamesW was CP and orderd the UK to give up and get wiped. They did not listen and less then a week latter they came back from two regions to wipe Ireland and take half of Canada. Amazing come back ha. Well an ugly fact of then just like today gold can buy wins. About two weeks before all of EDEN HQ was alarmed that there were multis poping up in Turkey at the rate of 1,000 an hour. The admin coulnd not keep up with deleting them. The UK got some of the gold generated from this along with a countries; The UK MoF said something like yes we got gold and "I did not ask where it came from" This does not make for good cartoons and had nothing to do with the tatics during that month.
EDEN membership. YEs we officially got into EDEN during digits admin BUT we first gotint EDEN serveral months before under Nogin. We were adminted as junior partners. They had a fancy title for it but I can not rember now. There was one other country and the USA at this trial level. We had the protection, acess to HQ and all the rights of members Except we could not vote at summets for leaders. To get accepted to this we got unanoums support from all EDEN members. I was MoFA that month and VP. Along with the rest of Nogins cabnet we contacted all the CP of EDEN countries and pleaded our case along with several talks with SC of EDEN. We were actually sceduled on the agenda mid that month but got pushed off till last days of month. Becuse it happened at tend of month Connell was first month we had acess to EDEN HQ. I had acess along with Marcus and Connell. Marcus did all the talking for us then and got to know a lot of people. CT was media somethng for EDEN and helped in the talks with EDEN on our junior membership by pointing to us who to talk too. Junior membership turned into full membership in Digits term.
One other piece of background info. I was Iboy VP when he was CP. Believe it or not, seems crazy now but we worked good togher, after he took all the goverments money, changed the passwords and attacked the UK opening MPP, I started the impeachment vote against him. I would say since that point there has been a lot of divide in the country. I thought a lot of him then and still do today. The disapointment I felt turned into anger and I said some negative things about him. Others screwed up in our past too, but I forgave them easily as stupid kids, some how I had a harder time doing this with him becuase I expected so much from him. Like all of us he has his good points and bad, I should of relize that and got over it quciker like some others.
^ There were a lot of people wh either were not alive them or a noob that talk about then like they knew what happened, now that all the history is over who cares. I put out several articles and put forth my plan for goverement. Judge me on that. The two campains have had a diffrent style. I have not attacked my oppent, spread false rummours, did a smear campain, or dug people up from dead to have a shot at someone, It has all been one sided in that area. I have stayed positive and talked about what I would do if elected. It is up to the voters to decide if they want a team that attacks anyone they feel threatened by or a guy who can not spell for a lick.

5/6 regions? I ain't spreading a rumour, thats you son. I wasn't a noob at the time, I was very much involved in carrying out and relaying your strategic orders which allowed the eUK to get into Shannon and attack every single one of our regions at the same time. Yes, Turkish gold could have easily meant it was unavoidable - but we will never know if it was unavoidable, because your orders had our troops to focus on the wrong regions.
But what I am 100% certain, you did not leave eIreland with 5/6 regions that month.
That is an obvious lie. Alot of your campaign fine, but I respect those more who have made mistakes and accept it. Not attempt to spin the truth. You said you left with Ireland in procession of 5/6 regions, you left eIreland with 1 region and RW in Dublin started by Ari. John Gormley came after you, he did not lose 5/6 regions on his first day.
