In the last couple of days, Ireland's membership has been up for vote in EDEN HQ. I'm delighted to announce that we have been unanimously accepted as a full member of EDEN! Some of these names will already be familiar to you, but now we join these nations as brothers!

2. Ministries review

I'm happy with how things are progressing. There's been a lot of effort put in, and I can't ask for anymore.

Foreign Affairs - After his unfortunate banning, Marcus has been steaming ahead with army work, while still finding time to keep up constant communication (because I'm doing the same) with our Eden counterparts, and write his introductory article. Please note that we are looking for ambassadors, please apply, it's good craic 🙂

Defence - Orders have been supplied and updated in a timely fashion. I have tasked Snakeyes with writing a summary guide of all military-based mechanics like NE, initiative, MPP activations, battle queues etc. I think Paschoall has been busy at Carnivale! I'm looking to see more activity from them on IRC and in Eden.

We were victorious in our battles to defend Central Croatia, and in occupying Vojvodina.

Finance - The one department I'm unhappy with. Don.squire is either inactive or not responding to me. I have not yet received the Irish Ministry of Finance org, don seems to be in sole possession of it. I have access to the bank. I will give Don until tomorrow night to respond to my many pms before I replace him.

State - Mikebane has been briefed and has okay'd all plans, and is overviewing his Ministries through google docs.

Immigration - Jacques Cousteau is a trooper. Not only has he been processing increasing citizenship applications, but has found time to launch a super secret mission. Read all about it here!

Community - Irasian has been a busy bee in the army and in tracking Marcus to pick up Foreign Affairs experience, but has outlined what he is going to do in Community. The lotto is up and running, and in the next article he will have a raffle of high quality food, weapons and houses!

New Citizens - This has been going very well. Seanlynch and Kiburi are messaging and tracking all of our new citizens everyday (I'm tracking my ministers through the google docs 😛). They are composing the messages they need to send everyday and are preparing to send out the rewards. We are also planning to begin a 'Lending" programme to noobs for the items to complete the in-game missions as a reward for completing all the tasks the Ministry will set them. This ministry has also been tasked with re-writing the new citizens message, which will depend greatly on whether images work or not. Hopefully shortly I should be able to include links to our new citizens in my update articles.


Events and discussions

- For those of you who have noticed, we have virtually unanimously declared Canada as a NE in order to accomplish the in-game missions. Terms were negotiated with the Canadian Cp including battle times, regions to be attacked, timing, battle orders and tanking insofar as possible (some Canadian tanks are even coming to our side)

- Discussions were held with IA staff members to help improve efficiencies, including different distribution of companies, securing of orgs, and increasing transparencies in the Private Dail - TDs should be able to view up-to-date expenditures and stock levels via google docs.

- Ari... has made new avatars for our organisations, thank 🙂

- I've got my President's forums access, and posted a fair few of their updates in Public Dáil. Suggested additions to how our congress works have been made, including the addition of senior citizens to discussions in the Private Dáil and a bid to improve decorum in the Dáil.

- Admins have promised quote unquote to return our state orgs and companies which have been trapped overseas. I have secured all orgs, all emails have been set to servers run by Kavrocks and Marcus, and all surplus money and items have been or are being dealt with.

- A finalised system for the President's Guard has been setup during tonight's deployment. 5 good men (Boris, Michael Hook, Digits, Mirek12345 and Ari) deployed via USA to fight for Romania and with normal supplies put up 44000 influence in one round. Looking forward to more fun and working with the next Team Leader!

I'm enjoying my Presidency so far, although it's hard work. Just FYI, my activity is thus: Mon-Fri, I check in once before work, while I'm at work I check in every hour or so, then I give a good evening to it. Weekends for me, I won't be as active because I'm generally travelling or gone to matches, but still available everyday.
